The scene at 35:43 where the horse starts freaking out, is because they fired real blanks and either chose not to do another take or didn't have enough money for extra film, so they kept the take where the horse got legitimately frightened by hearing a revolver blank go off 15 feet from where it was stationed.

This game was made in the early 90s to showcase Microsoft CD-Rom capabilities. I remember playing it beside similar CGI Point and Click action games like Cyberia. It's an old school "PC mouse only" game. Playing it on the Wii makes it exponentially harder (and also funnier).
So that's why this game actually looks like it had a budget.
