"The Kubrick Stare" is one of director Stanley Kubrick's most recognizable directorial techniques. A method of shot composition where a character stares at the camera with a forward tilt, to convey to the audience that they are at the peak of their derangement.
The final 5 minutes of this are absolutely poetic. His unjust failure just inches from victory shattering his spirit completely, and then executing an inhuman feat of reflex and skill to vanquish his enemy. And yet, he is still hollow; it's too late out to get a cheeseburger, it's all been for nothing.
During his final attempt, it was like he was using the vehicle-time ability from GTAV, just weaving inhumanly between cars. He was using Ultra Instinct.
2:02:13 Jerma sounds like a mother who's child has been screaming and shouting and banging on the walls since 3am and she just desperately wants to sleep
I like how the games' level aesthetics and soundtrack parallel his mental state while playing the game- first level: bright, cheerful, laid-back, optimistic, carefree. Last level: dark, scary, doom-ridden, chaotic. The incoherent zombies walking around the map represent what he's become and his descent into madness. Truly poetic cinema for the modern era. Hitchcock could never.
2:07:41 It's honestly poetic... The silence, and the fact you just hear him ramble to himself, like it doesn't even matter to him if anyone is listening at this point. Like looking into the mind of an actual insane man.
