Thanks for the awesome tool! Is there anyway this could work on existing old projects done using the curve/edit method rather than geometry nodes? I've tried adding it to an older project and the phase does work fine on a normal curve, but any curve profile seems to break with it (looks to be around the preserve length node) Cheers! 😊
Yes, the old curves method doesn't work because when we add a profile curve from the Bevel menu, Blender treats it like a mesh object, which doesn't work with the waving effect. The only workaround I can think of is to use a Curve to Mesh node at the end of the node tree and import the original profile curve that you've used (and remove the bevel option from the main curve). It should remember the tilt and radius, but it might need some adjustments.
Hey. I need some advice. I'm looking for a way to animate stylized hair curves. I need it to stick on the head when the character turns its head using an armature. Is there any other way to do this than converting the curve to mesh and then animating it by the bones? Will your add-on work like this? I was looking at your videos, but all your characters are static. I don't want to change hair curve itself, I just want the curve to follow the head. I tried hook modifier, but there were some issues with unexpected curve tilt. Thank you kindly for your answer. (Sorry for my english, not native speaker.)
Yes. When you create your hair strands, you have to attach them to a base mesh. The best way is to have a separate 'scalp' base mesh, rather than the character mesh. Then you have to simply parent that base mesh to the head bone of your armature. I guess I'll do a video on it since I see a lot of people asking
Hello, teacher, I am a student studying blender in Korea. This video was very helpful and I bought it. I have a question. Is there a way to apply geometry settings with a mash instead of a hair curve?
Unfortunately no. This only works with curve objects. You have to remake any mesh hair you want to wave to be made from a curve, but hey, that would be some great exercise to get better at Blender :)
Hi, I just bought the Hair Waver 1.0 and I can't put it on my character hair. I'm a beginner wants to animate character hair. can you make a video tutorial on how to put on Hair Waver 1.0 step by step? Thanks you.
Great video! And thanks for explaining the mentality to use each node and its effect. I'll watch part 2.
Awesome tool brother, please don't forget to blink.
Great work!looking for part 2!
Genius, so helpfull for me!
Este conocimiento que compartes es increible y muy bien explicado. Gracias !!!!!

@@denoa3D Thanks for the tip.
Yes, please do such tutorial. I was looking for it and still haven't found anything really useful.
Hi ! Does your addon can animate the length of the hair?

@@denoa3D Thanks for the reply. It's sad that it's not possible, but it was good to learn something new. Always be healthy and happy.
Does soft body modifier work with the hair?
You have to convert it to mesh, then you can apply any modifier.
