Hi Dean. Thanks for the tutorial, and for making the asset available on Gumroad. If I download the eyelash generator, can I use it in a commercial project? I need some eyelashes for a character. Thanks again.
around 7:56 I cant seem to get my lashes to have a curve in them like that. and idea what I might have done wrong? I cant find anything differing from your set up ....also cant rotate them on the Y on both sides just all at once... what the heck is wrong in mine
You probaby don't have any resolution on the eyelash curve. I forgot to mention that in the video, but use a Resample Curve on the eyelash curve and give it some resolution, around 10-20 points.
OOOOOO! that would make sense! thanks I've been trying to figure it out I finally just broke down and grabbed it from your gumroad and adapted that one. Thank you for putting that up there on gumroad as well btw!
@@외계인전문직 You can use a "Resample Curve" right after the "Curve Line" node - the one that is the eyelash curve. It will divide the curve into more points, you can set it to 10-12.
2:46 how arr you able to move the noodles and keep them there?? Ive been stumped and cant find any way to do it. Edit: I figured it out. But ran into another issue. When adding the combine XYZ to base factor the eyelashes vanish. What do you think the problem is?? :/ Edit: 😂😂😂 nvm i figured it out lol
Sure. For simpler rigs you can parent the eyelash object straight to the head bone (in Pose mode), so it moves with the head, and the deformation will come from the Surface Deform modifier. For something more complex, you may want to convert to mesh and do the binding as normal.
Yes! You can use a 'Resample Curve' node anywhere in the node tree where you have a curve, and it will change the resolution of that curve. For example, if you use it on the circle, which we used for the eyelashes profile, and set to 3, the eyelashes will have a triangular profile with 3 sides (4 - square and so on). If you use it on the eyelashes curves, it will change the resolution along the curve. That way you can control the poly count of the final geometry.

Hey, try clicking the Make Eyelashes/Eyebrow button again. Sometimes it doesn't register the import of the node tree quickly enough. I'll fix that in an update.

Well, generators are not the simplest GN setups. But as far as those, this one is fairly simple. Best thing is, you only have to set it up once, then you can forget about it, saves a lot of time 😉

I was actually thinking the same thing! I will surely make a more simple, stylized version of the generators when I get the time!

Hi Dean I cannot have a mesh line for growth the eyelashes on it.
Ho I create a mesh line?
I need to select the vertex and extrude it?
Yes, simply add a new mesh object, merge all its vertices with M, so that you have a single vertex, then extrude and snap it to your character.

You should be able to use a Mirror modifier, after the Geometry Nodes one

Dean the geometry that is generated by the nodes can be exported to game engines or is just some kind of inside tools only?.
Well, you could always convert it to mesh and export it as normal
