Sad thing is the moment she put the phone down, she'll have decided she wasn't allowed to speak, and that she's still right.
If you truly want someone to change there mind or move there position a more tactful approach would be important. Certainly fewer interruptions on both sides are essential, greater chances to speak for both sides. Talk of fact should be substantiated with evidence where possible - James often has factual evidence to rely on but callers rarely have this to hand or the opportunity to provide it where they have some evidence.
As James is a professional I can absolutely understand that he will be better resourced and better prepared.
Whilst I understand James's style is quite adversarial - this will not help with many callers that have opposing views.
Perhaps James should chair a debate with two callers with opposing views from opposite sides of the spectrum and manage such a discussion as an impartial/neutral chair. This may lead to one caller to actually reconsider and revise their position having considered the facts and having a chance to contribute from their own perspective.

The main thing people can take from this is that there’s no reasoning with these people.

O'Brien's a master of deflection.
@@davidreece1642 I think u should phone in. Honestly. Cause it. Seems a lot of the people that phone in don't know what they are actually talking about. It's like they say things without thinking it through. U seem to know what ur talking about. Phone in mate.
@@davidreece1642 agreed. I tend to agree with James on a lot of things but I’m rarely convinced by these videos of him ‘destroying’ people. I feel like he tends to focus on why the caller themself is uninformed/an idiot, as opposed to actually countering the arguments and ideas they put across
@@Frank.and.Beanzz I think there's a difference between listening to this 3-4 times to see what he's up to and actually being able to put a rational point of view sensibly. Don't forget he does this several times a day. For example the increase in population has multiple factors , legal immigration, birth rates in non indigenous communities, increased life span etc plenty of rabbit holes to fall down. But thanks for your vote. 👍👍
@@jadgf Agree, as this vid shows.
Geez she fought long & hard to confirm her stupidity 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ikr lol
stupidity? so your ok paying your taxes to house illegal immigrants most of them come from safe countries
She left no doubt. Respect.
Whereas lefties make it look easy...
These calls are priceless😂😂😂
I worked within the NHS on day of the funeral, no restrictions on staff at all.
It’s a shame people actually don’t get angry about millionaires cheating the tax system or issues that actually have a negative impact on our lives.
It's easier for them to punch down.
The way of the Tory party, aided by the right-wing press.
Look over there. Those people are not like you. They want your small part of the pie. Be scared of them.
Meanwhile the rich steal most of the pie.
thats not the topic, the topic is why wouldn't you get mad at illegal refugees wanting to come over here??!
I’ll tell you why.
Because culture *IS* the most important aspect of every nation.
Without one homogeneous culture, society collapses.
It always has done through history, and it always will do.
That’s why immigration makes us furious.
Its a threat to our existence.
@@chadtheimpaler_our absolutely clueless brother. The Roman Empire was a lot more multi cultured than modern day UK & that’s literally one of the largest empires in all of human history! The UK has also been a multi cultured country for over 100 years & it has been 100% beneficial to how beautiful this country CAN be at its best!
Get with reality & maybe READ A HISTORY BOOK OR 2…… thousand…..BROTHER!
This is an amazing call. The cognitive dissonance between her confidently sounding off whilst admitting she doesn't have the first clue about anything! 🤦🏼♂
Exactly the same as James!
@@justinday5961 James never said he did, while the caller was unapologetic about her convictions based solely on her personal bias rather then any real knowledge. Hardly the same, don’t you think?

And the most frightening aspect of this is that these ‘I haven’t got a clue’ people are allowed to vote, legally……….. 🤔😬😵💫🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️😢
I think James should do an entire show just talking to this woman.
“I don’t know the system but I know for a fact…” I despair 😩
I love how Jackie is all for arresting people before they've done anything wrong but "they might". I get the feeling she'd be a fan of Minority Report.
Yes people are frightened - that such ignorance and prejudice not only exists, it persists and is exploited by the powerful to keep people down.
Immigration is capitalism importing an over supply of labour in, which is a race to the bottom particularly for the working class.
Oligarchs love immigration.
Capitalism will never invest in training or increase pay and conditions if it can just fly in labour.
Back in the day the Left understood this, even Bernie Sanders was anti immigration.
The dude above is farting the same comment all over.....
Any excuse to hate on brown folks huh?

Blair was a great one for high continued immigration.
@@trytellingthetruth.2068 Yes, Bliar started it.

“getting organised” 😂😂😂
I love James' under-his-breath "there it is" when she first brings up immigrants.
🤣
I imagine many listeners did the same - I did 🤣
Oh wow . James defending immigrants again. Yeah, non of us saw that coming.
😂😂
@@PpPp-ku4sy James defending immigrants? I listened carefully and I heard no defense of immigrants. He did allow the anti-immigrant caller prove herself a fool but that is not defending immigrants. He did point out the the Tories lie about the actual immigration rules in place and how people are misled, but that is not defending immigrants. Maybe you didn't appreciate James pointing out all of the anti-immigrant claptrap and decided that was "defending immigrants"
What gets me is that people like the caller are furious about penniless asylum seekers entering Britain (in many cases fleeing places like Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya that the UK invaded or supported military coups), but the financial sector wreaked absolute havoc across the West 15 years ago, and yet we’re told that placing a small Tobin tax of less than one per cent on financial services transactions is inconceivable. All while student tuition fees were doubled or trebled in some cases.
We’ve been had.
