"We never sold cars in the single market" - in 2019 51% of UK-manufactured cars were exported to the EU
"Germany failed to support Ukraine" - Germany's humanitarian aid to Ukraine has been nearly 10 times that of the UK, including accepting over 1 million refugees
Those Ukrainian refugees being coders, mathematicians, nuclear scientists, doctors, etc... I hope they get back to their country once there is peace but it's the type of brain drain that cements an economic lead for decades if they stay and integrate into the economy. That UK is not even equipped or prepared because in a moment of a labour shortage they call asylum and refugee seekers invaders has got to be top shelf economic self sabotage. This guy distrusts leaders for their incompetence then proceeds to vote for the very same people he just called incompetent without the slightest hint of irony.
When you argue with an idiot, they will win, they have had more practice. What scares me is he is a coach driver, he transports people and cant even seem to focus on a single thing.

Clearly you must be so dumb yourself to need somebody else to run the hot tap. Which makes Andy better than yourself, considering that he does not need to ask somebody else to run the hot tap.
Andy is responsible for a big heavy coach on public roads. Anyone else terrified?
Brexit was the largest most successful rage farming operation ever to occur. They riled people up about the bogeyman EU, using pithy easily digestible slogans. And when people are angry, they don't stop and look for facts. And Andy is the poster boy of that.
This is what happens when you operate, intellectually, on nothing but emotions. His feelings are so strong that he can't even countenance that they could be wrong. Then, when he tries to communicate them, he finds that there is nothing there.
isnt that how the brits who voted to leave the EU based their vote solely on emotions including fear of foreigners - nothing to do with rationale or facts - regardless of country all conservative parties base their policies on irrational emotions that will always win at the voting box even the people that continuously vote against their own interests because delusional fear always outweigh rationale
Usually if you say something like “it’s all the lies and stuff”, everyone is going to nod and agree. They all have opposing views but there’s no denying the fact that lying is no longer scandalous for any politician.
And these are the people that we need to persuade to change their minds. Sadly.
Believing our house shortage, school places and NHS struggles would be helped by free movement is hardly intellectual. I would say the majority of people are just a mouth piece of the very people who profit from a supply of labour that outstrips demand.
Where we are now cannot be completely contributed to us leaving the EU.
Which by the way is also in a recession and also includes the US.
@@matthewfindlay9010 We don't have enough builders, teachers and nurses. Cutting off the supply of workers is hardly going to help that. Also in modern supply side economics the supply of labour is always the limiting factor. Increasing costs due to labour shortages is hardly going to help the people at the bottom that are hit hardest by the cost of living crisis. Thats why we introduced a minimum wage so labour supply cannot drive down wages of the lowest paid. Labour shortages driving inflation will whack them though.
The US isnt in recession its economy grew 4.4%. Neither is the EU. Ours shrank .8%.

Well done to James O'Brien for keeping his cool when confronted with this call.
I notice James sometimes confuses the terms, free trade, custom union & single market. They're not the same, each one is a term to describe deeper stages of economic integration ending with fiscal union. The UK has a free trade agreement with the EU but the reason it can not engage in friction less economic exchange it once had is because we left the 3rd stage of economic integration, the single market.

My German partner will tell you that, without EU, the hassle of exchanging currencies, and the restrictions on movement of goods. Considered Germany had one of the strongest currencies in Europe before the EU, the Germans would still tell you that it is better being in the EU than being the outside of it. Unfortunately, it started even earlier in the UK: with Brexit. The anti-EU rhetoric had been building since the 2000s (Farage and his UKIP populist party) but reached a crescendo around 2015 with the announcement of there being a referendum to finally decide our status in the EU....long story short the rightwing populists, which covers most of the British press, and the populist politicians like Farage and Johnson confected a campaign to convince enough disenfranchised to vote against their own best interests and vote to leave the biggest and most successful trading bloc in the world - all to enrich the rightwing elites in the UK, of course. That was painful to watch. My hear goes to James O'Brien.

Gosh, my heart sinks when I hear people like this. No wonder this country is in the terrible state it is. Ignorance is certainly not bliss!

As I said elsewhere today, we underestimate the population of clowns in the UK. I feel genuinely sorry for these people.
@@tomwilkins9847 just wondering, which bit of James’s dialogue demonstrates he wasn’t right?
@Andrew Reilly I've had to put up with government lies and corruption for so many years...do you actually think government's are actually helping people out...your very mistaken if you think like that....this is manufactured government over people voting out of brexit the one's in charge at the moment is the world economic forum...they are telling every government around the world to follow their BS ...if you think us being out of eu caused all this then carry on...but we actually aren't out of the eu BS..

At a count, the one thing people of all parties who have canvassed the electorate would agree on.
And why is that? Could fix that :)

Yeaa rattled James 😮
I'm from Germany and unsurprisingly I can confirm what James is saying: Just like every other country in Europe we were also experiencing the pandemic and are also affected by the war in Ukraine.
Yet, we don't have the same problems as the UK has - and that's the case everywhere else in Europe.
Strange, isn't it?
Maybe if the UK reduced its defence budget to German levels we would have more money?
Probably not, the mony would wonder of in dubious. Pockets I bet😂
@luidorluidor2830 when you said in your earlier post that "we don't have the same problems as the UK has," you appear to be correct currently, at least with regard to the economy. Germany is in recession. It was announced 4 days ago that the European economy is in recession based on the 20 countries that use the Euro. The UK is not in recession, and it is expected to avoid one. I am not stating that to be smug, as I wish the best for Europe. I am just stating it so that you might challenge your own thought processes, and that you would perhaps cease to be happy with the "problems" that you perceive that the UK has.
That's because you've systematically diminished the British car industry to strengthen your own ... apparently.
This makes me so sad for my country
