Hi doc. I have a concussion it's my 11th day today i don't have a headache, dizziness, balance issue the only symptoms i had for now is nausea and nervous breakdown. Can i go exercise?

I passed the BCTT, and even the Blackhawks conditioning test, after which I went back into CrossFit training. After two months my symptoms reappeared...I have no explanation for this. Physio says I have a neck dysfunction and a particular workout caused a flare up. I’m back to walking, very disappointing.

YOu shouldn't have to go back to walking! The BCTT and Blackhawks tests are meant to pick up if there is a blood flow issue....if you DO have a blood flow issue, you would get symptomatic with these tests. The recommendation would then be to exercise with steady-state cardio BELOW your symptom threshold. If you pass both of these tests, it means that there is NO blood flow issue and you are SAFE to exercise with NO restrictions. Blood flow issues don't come and go unless there has been another concussion. If you have a flare up in symptoms after a workout but you've passed the BCTT and the BH test, this flare-up is likely due to neck dysfunction. So you are still safe to continue working out and pushing yourself...you just need to get your neck fixed. But don't drop your exercise back down because there is no need to - make sense?

Complete Concussion Management thank you for your reply. Makes sense, I did just retest the BCTT and passed without issues, unfortunately with the hypercoagulation disorder I present with, I’m not able to have neck manipulation done, but I will once again be seeing my Physio and vision therapist soon, it appears I am struggling with saccades, OPK, and balance drills once again. But I will absolutely get this neck sorted out. Thanks again for your insight.

@@jeanpauljeanpaul2530 did you recovered man???? Going through the same situation right now…

@@xlxl1762 hey dude, yes I recovered significantly such that I could do all my normal daily activities. However a few months ago I suffered an unexpected stroke, still have a fistula in my brain. Likely this is from a blood clotting disorder that I have, and a neck manipulation from a chiropractor that should have not been done, not related to my concussion. you will get better…however only time will improve things, all these other modalities of treatment will provide very little difference. It’s unfortunate because those of us with this condition are so desperate to get better so we try everything, and health care professionals dangle that carrot of hope in front of our eyes that they can get us to improve. Be well

I find myself over-tired sometimes after a morning walk and getting dizzy as I am home. As my main sport is cycling, I try to do that but notice that if I try a new route, my brain gets foggy during the ride and post-ride I feel really dizzy. The consequence? I then somehow avoid cycling, even though it's my greatest passion, for a week or so (while I would normally cycle 3-4 times a week). My brain is just too tired to think of putting the gear on, and get ready for the outside, stoplights, etc. Once I am out, it's alright, but it takes a loooot of mental effort to get there, especially with a foggy brain. What would you advise? I try to do morning walks instead the past days, just to keep moving. :)

Hey, I'm not sure if this is covered in another video, but what about cases where a person makes what they think is a full recovery after a few weeks, tries running, feels fine, but the next day has a complete relapse to initial symptoms that last for another full week. Does this just sound like a case of pushing too hard too fast?
