My mom had 77 Cadillac coupe de ville she gave me the car when I turned 16 years old in 1986 I drove the car until 1992 and then parked it in my garage for years I just had the whole car restored to the original condition I love this car
Again one of Cadillacs best most favorable designs and personal favorites, looks great in most color combos, good engine for the car , would also go down the highway like you want ....
That Coupe Deville is gorgeous. I really like the wheels. I have a '77 Coupe Deville in Jennifer Blue, mostly all original and in really good to very good condition but with 93,000 miles it is nowhere near as nice as the one in the video. The previous owner put a set of American Racing wheels on it, they look ok but those wire wheels would look far better.
Jimmy My favorites as well. I Just bought a REALLY NICE 78 coupe Deville. I love the eldorado but was advised by my mechanic to avoid the HT4100 and 4-6-8 engines - so I searched for the coupe. I’m not disappointed at all - the ride and power is amazing
First time watching your videos and i must say i like how honest you are a d direct you are and teaching as you go, i was reminded of alot, and i enjoyed your point of view, and yes thise Cadillacs could have came with a more stirdy suspension to stop how frisky they would get and lose they were ,they still was soft ride just not stirdy as they coukd have been to keep control over them at highway speeds or anything above, 25 mph i woukd say, but mostly everything you already said is spot on ...thanks
Thanks Matt. The suggestion is very much appreciated. I'll check it out and see if it improves the handling. It won't hurt it at any rate. You were very kind to reply. I appreciate it very much.
Matt, thanks for showing us this Cadillac. I have a '72 Eldorado that I absolutely love, but it certainly lays over on itself going around curves! Glad you mentioned the sway bar. I'll look into changing mine with a beefier replacement.
There is actually a rare rear sway bar option and some aftermarket applications that can go on the 71-78 eldo, toro platform. I’m not sure if it will let me send this link or not but I will do it in the next comment
Hi Matt Thank you for sharing your video and thoughts on the coupe Deville. Would you mind replying with the tire size, sway bar, and shocks that you upgraded to? I want to improve the handling of my 78 coupe without destroying that Cadillac ride. 😊 11:47
Thanks, Matt, for the presentation of the 1977 Cadillac Coupe Deville. It's a beautiful car. I have a 1978 Cadillac Coupe deville and I want to have a better ride. Besides the CA 1 sway bar and the gas shocks, what front end suspension modification were completed? Thank in advance
I agree on the Fleetwood Brougham 1994-96. I own one. It rides nice and powerful enough. But it has had some issues for a car of no more than 58,000 miles. I have spent money. So I hope to sell it soon. It looks very nice.
I think GM did a good job downsizing here. My parents bought a 79 White on white with all the options and powder blue interior. They drove it a few years then gave it to me. My first official car. I loved it. No problems except at 100,000 miles the carburetor was acting up a bit.
Beautiful caddy you have thanks for sharing. I love the way you've added hidden modifications to car without changing the originality of it. A little suspension modification, a little more power under the hood with the flipped up air cleaner. Nobody would suspect that the car has been modified unless you have a really trained eye. Do you still have the early 80's red brougham with the 501 engine?
You did it the way GM should have done it from the beginning. And I think they would have sold more units if they only did it the way you did it. Very nice car very pretty and sweet it is what you call a sleeper
I put '81-'85 Seville center caps on my wires. They are roughly 1.5x larger diameter than the factory center caps. Gives the car a bolder look. Only problem with doing suspension upgrades on these cars is that it exposes rattles. My friends hate me because "let's go for a ride.. tell me where this rattle is coming from!"
@gm-classics ha! Did that, too. 415cid with 2.5" true duals with DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers. Nice and quiet at cruise and idle but sounds like an animal under heavy throttle. Fixt some rattles but not all.
Our '77 Electra was sprung so softly, they sagged after a few years and had to be replaced so we could carry luggage again. It handled pretty well--compared to our '68 Electra and '56 Olds.
While you're on the subject of suspension. My 98 feels like your riding on tires that are filled with 90 pounds of air. Yes, it has airbags but they were bypassed. And there are 4 new shocks and struts. It just sounds and feels so stiff. Your opinion please. 1998 Devile.
Do you do these types of things for other Peoples cars would love to know. I am definitely looking for a Cadillac of this year. And would love to have it done the way this Cadillac is done. Please call comment back, thank you.
Are you selling Is this car I would really love to know what you would be asking for it. My father had one like this and I would love to have 1 for myself. Please comment back thank you very much

Do the police sway bars work better than frame notching I think is the term used for g bodies to stiffen the frames ?
I remember the A/C in that model could keep ice cream frozen.
Beautiful!
Beautiful cadillac
I have a 77 Coupe in Soverign Gold & could use some help finding the sway bars you used.
I just have wire hubcaps.
Thank you.
Thanks Matt!! Great info
I regret selling the one I had. It was a 78 basically the same body style. Great automobile.

What were the part numbers for the sway bars?
Damn that car is cool Cadillac Black Jack!
I have a 1978 deville i am getting back on the road. Where did you order the rear sway bar? Thanks. Cody.
just got my hands on 77 Sedan deVille. Can't wait till I can make it shine like and roll nice

This video is making want one of these

Just put a really loud exhaust system on it. All the rattles just seem to go away.

Love to drive this with the 2.73.

Love the rims! The '78 taillights were a much better design.
AWESOME!!!

Hello Matt, I love that black 77 coupe Deville that you have. It’s if it’s for sale please let me know.
Nice
Is it for sale??
so hard to find. ive been looking for a low mileage 77 to 79 coupe for a few years now
They are out there, the only issue is now cars of this age in nice shape are no longer the theoretical discounts they used to be.
Raw as hell!!💯💪🏽
Are you selling Is this car I would really love to know what you would be asking for it. My father had one like this and I would love to have 1 for myself. Please comment back thank you very much
