Those transients... accuracy and intensity together. I remember when Car Stereo Review would speak on this, when ranking Amps and especially subs, back in the Early 90s. Still Important today, so thanks for covering this! Supply to speaker, it all works together

Yes the can because it helps the amp stay at the proper voltage which will help the amp be efficient as possible, better signal out of the amp means better sound from the sub

Looks good. Love Deaf Bonce. I added some lithium to mine(Glowe Voltage S2, LifePO4 with a 460a constant discharge and 530a burst. no supercap fast but fast) and got a nice boost in quality as well. Before the upgrade, I would start to drop to a couple of volts on the really heavy stuff. I expected to get an extra click or two on the volume knob, but its sounds cleaner and noticeably more force from the sub , like you said "punchier". It turned out to be a nice upgrade. When I get the 8k in, I may try a supercap or I might add another GV.

So the ioxus UC31 are totally worth it. 3000 farad ultra caps divided by 8 for capacitance equates to 375 Farads. That be monstrous compared to the olden days in the late 90s early 2000s with the monster 2 Farads lol 😆 🤣

That's the wrong info , the company says the cap is rated at 300F and 12 to 24v with a maximum of 27v so that means it has 10 caps 2.7v x10 is 27v so for 99$ you get 10 3000f caps with Bluetooth and BMS you can't beat the price

Nice job I’m going to say put some voltage meters between the amps

Supercaps also help take some of the stress off the alternator

I have 3 XS Power Superbank Caps in my ‘04 F-150 8200 GVW with a 10,000 watt Alpine stereo system with 13 Alpine amplifiers, 16 speakers, 6 10” subwoofers, dual alternators and More. They really help a lot. Can’t afford to go lithium, so I’m stuck with them. But I am very happy with them.

It probably because a cap supply can release the amount of power the amp needs instantly and recover super fast to. back it up that why it my next move/buy with the deep cycle agms should work nicely. 💯👍✌️

What’s your take on running super banks under the hood I’d like to use a super bank for a battery delete instead of just having. Box or just terminals under the hood as I have lithium in the back? I see you have your close to the amps as I want mine under hood were the battery would go?

you can, at least with these, they're designed to replace a second battery.

Does the super capaicitor require any maitanaince?
Ive been seeing videos that say the small stereo capacitors, 1,2,3 farads need to be de-charged if you dont start the car in 4 or 5 days and you have to put the transistor on + & - to charge it and to decharge it, is any of that hassel needed on a Super capacitor❓

    • @CarAudioEnthusiasts
      @CarAudioEnthusiasts  Місяць тому +1

nope, at least not for the ioxus, it goes into maintenance mode after a few moments of not seeing an alternator.

So do you have any other batteries in the back? Or does the battery under the hood go right to the capacitor in the back and than off that too the amp?

Wondering if i need a high output generator to run this batterybor my standard generator will be good to power it. I am trying to just add one amplifier maybe a 5 channel amp to run all my system. My goal is to replace my 6x9 in the rear and front 6.5 and a pair of 12s only 100 watts rms each. Hmm. Any suggestions or advice. 😊

I think the better amps like my old JBL have dynamic power and do not need outboard caps. But the new class ds need all the juice they can get. Amps sound different when near clipping, some just sound weak. I love the power per watt a guy can get now. Beats the hell out of the 20 watts we had in the 70s!

I just watched a UA-cam video from Jonathan Price “down for sound” and he talked about that exact situation. He said some folks are breaking the mounting tabs off their amps because of the flex from heavy hitting bass. He suggested to not mount amps on boxes.

I bought an adjustable power supply on amazon to power my supercaps. Cost around sixty bucks. Or you can use a light bulb as a resister..just run it inline..takes alot longer though

Capacitors have more power density than lead acid and lithium batteries and lithium cells can go bad and start fires. capacitors are far more robust aslong you don't go over the voltage rating.
