There are two South African made films - Tokoloshe (1965) and Majuba (1968) - which were never correctly archived and Majuba had one hour removed from its' running time of 165 minutes by greedy exhibitors at MGM South Africa who wanted more screenings per day as it was a box office hit in its' day. Out of a total of 5 film reels of Tokoloshe - starring Sid James - only three remain and the excised footage was never reinserted into Majuba.
'Madhouse On Castle Street' a one off 1963 play starring a young Bob Dylan on a visit to the UK is probably the most sought after of all the BBC's 60s Lost Media.

There's just something haunting about any lost media. Permanently lost media is like staring into the abyss.
