Shrien did it. Every South African knows it and every South African will remember Annie forever. Condolences to her family. If unsure about the safety in any part of South Africa, always contact the South African tourism information desk for honest advice. Greetings from Cape town.
@Random Thought Imagine thinking that because you don't understand something that it doesn't make sense. Clearly that says more about you than it does about me. You're so cute though *boops your nose*
I'm South African and when this happened every local person asked why would they go there and at that time of the night. Its not a tourist attraction even us locals here in Cape Town avoid it. He is guilty. He wouldn't speak to her father who has been here many times since this happened. He refused to cooperate with authorities when her father begged him to. This was a long con and a deadly one and poor Anni is gone from her family
Yes exactly . When this happened we were all thinking why ? Why would they go THERE at that time. Definitely a plan to have her killed and make it look like we are all a bunch of savages . But South Africans know where they should and should not go to.
@@kikisays precisely it played in the narrative he had created that South Africa has a high crime rate and look at this awful thing that happened...I'm sure you are familiar with the case of Dina Rodriguez who hired hitmen to murder a baby and they tried to make it look like a robbery gone bad and crime is so terrible here but we all saw through that because only the baby was targeted
How on earth did he get off? Incredible. It's a disgrace. It seems like the judge was on his side as well. Anni is not with us and Mr Shrien is with his new boyfriend living the time of his life.
He brought her out to South Africa, knowing that life is cheap here. IMO he's a psychopath who lied to his new bride and had her murdered so he could follow his own desires. It's a disgrace he wasn't found guilty. Hope justice finds his address sooner rather than later. Poor Annie. She so did not deserve that.
it could be that, but saying he went to south africa because life is cheap and so someone would murder his wife easily is kinda wierd but ok. What about india or every single country in between... not an valid point at all. anyway.
Cause he wanted a cover up Many men does cheat their spouse and GF with other men They just hide it into best friend or coworkers... This happen more often than we think
The fact he was texting the drive, not wanting your newly wife to know what you're saying while in an extremely horrible area... That just doesn't add up to me. And why would you pay a taxi driver over a week after you started getting his services???
@@sheenamaclean8324 it was his ring they found. Now, they have both. The one she refused to relinquish and the one he stashed under the mat. Hers and his.
Gotta disagree with you here Mike. Far too many questionable moves on Shrien's part - texting the driver in the car, paying him after the incident & then scoping out the security cameras...all screams guilty to me.
I have a feeling it was less sinister than that. Could be just asking about male hookers/sex workers, which he'll also need to do privately behind the wife's back and the driver and his friends kinda took advantage of it. Just a thought. Didn't know about this case or haven't done any more research on it, so just me opinion based on Mike's video.
@@AT-oo8tw then do some more research. This man had vile individuals drive his wife into one of the most dangerous places in the world and execute her. The incredible fear she must have felt when she realised what was happening is heartbreaking to think of
@@AT-oo8tw thats a good theory but he paid the guy with the envelope days after the murder. if he really had nothing to do with it, he wouldn't have met up with his wife's killers just days after. if he was being blackmailed to pay up then he should've come clean to the cops because getting outed seems like the better option than being pinned as a murderer who hates his wife and wants her dead
I live in SA and I remember the day this case broke. My cleaning lady and I were standing in the kitchen listening to the radio. When they said that Anni wasn't raped and that the car was found, we turned to each-other and said, "this doesn't make sense, what was the motive?". It just didn't fit the profile of a typical SA crime and everyone here believes he was behind it.
@@isabellabertolacci508 Good point also why leave the male out first? He has more chance of making it to safety out of a tough area. I think his defense claimed she wouldn’t hand over the ring so they don’t get which is ridiculous since the husbands ring was found in the car, which leads to another weird point, what the hell happened with his ring? Can’t believe he got off
All of us in South Africa know that Shrine Dawani is guilty, we followed this case religiously ,all the evidence were there but our justice system dropped the ball on this one
No true, the judge and law firm in South Africa that handle the case did a very good job. The media is who dropped the ball making readers believe the accounts of criminals that were not logical.
For the first time in one of your cases, I disagree. I think he had everything to do with it. And I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. My sympathy all goes to Anni s family.
Huge probability that he was guilty. There was a doc about this story a while back (sorry can't recall which tv show did the doc) but they went over messages the victim shared with her friends about her husbands concerning behavior. There were signs that he was not good to her. To me, the fact that he took her to a restaurant that was in an unsafe area was suspicious enough...
Yes it does seem questionable. When this story hit the news I was glued to it daily and eventually - yearly! He did it alright. That husband wanted his wife dead and waiting until South Africa to do it. Such a safe place, South Africa.
@@Halkin85 Fair point under normal circumstances. But considering the violent hijacking and murder....the driver meeting with Shrien alone for payment seems to matter of fact and nonchalant. Why would Shrien feel safe to meet with anyone alone ? And then to pay him ? Makes little sense to me.
@@Halkin85 the driver would pester a man who just lost his wife? The driver at that point would of felt partly to blame for taking them to a part of town at night that even the local police fear going. That was a hit payment for sure
I mean, it is something you pay for when the service is complete. As you're leaving the taxi. Not getting in. And I mean, he was dealing with... some shit.... for those few days. Makes sense he didn't take care of it for a few days and at that point they were kind of connected by a major event (assuming husband didn't actually hire him to kill his wife)
Hi Mike, you've been duped too. I'm from South Africa and Shrien was definitely guilty of arranging the hit on his wife. Anyone is South Africa knows that Guguletu is extremely dangerous by day, never mind at night. Besides, if one is hijacked by gunpoint in South Africa, they would kill all parties not just one! They would also never just leave the car. They would definitely have it changed in a chop shop before one can blink. The people I feel sorry for is Annie's family. May they find peace over time. RIP Anni.
Thank you for the local info! That absolutely makes sense! If a carjacker is gonna kill someone for a car, anywhere, best believe they are getting that car, and wouldn’t just leave an untouched witness!
Can’t believe this husband got off scot free! The way he looked at her in the wedding video really illustrates the way he felt about His new bride (imo) So sad! Just don’t understand why he agreed to get married in the first place?? And this is another reason to forgo expensive weddings. Studies have shown that more expensive weddings (and rings) correlate to poorer marriage outcomes (ie. divorce and marital discord) when compared to couples who had modest nuptials
*Agree! Definitely guilty of arranging a hit on his wife!*... When Mike said at the end that he thought Shrien had nothing to do with it.... I started talking to the screen... lol Said *"Oh no Mike... We will have to agree to disagree my friend* cause *Shrien SOOOOO DID IT!!!* ... I came to the comments to see who else thought he was guilty and came across your comment. And Ta-Da.. here I am commenting! lol
I stay in Cape Town and it is common knowledge to every single person who stays here of where not to go, especially at night. The cab driver would've been wary to take them to such a place unless there was something bigger than his normal cab fee in it for him. That Shrien guy is definitely guilty and there is a lot of evidence that supports this claim.
There’s also a good amount of gaps to assume he is innocent, there is no direct evidence that he did it so I think it’s very fair to assume he is innocent.
This. I've visited Cape Town on just a holiday, not a honeymoon and the information is everywhere not to wander into the townships or suburbs at night. Also a fair point that the cab driver would be reticent to go there - he wouldn't want to lose his car or life?
@@shortstarwarsessays1842 no it’s not that judge just denied to believe that taxi driver's testimony outta nowhere. Otherwise he would be behind the bars rn
In my opinion he is guilty. That can be up for debate but what is not is the way he treated her family afterwards. They wanted to talk to him, get answers and get closure but he refused to meet them, even muscling then out of her funeral. Her father has wrote a book which will have you sobbing. His PTSD disappeared right after the acquittal and he set up home with his new boyfriend in London.
yup..the husband definitely plan to killed her... no doubt. Too many coincidence. there's no way, some random low profile criminals, suddenly brutally killed their victim, but only one victim, the other didn't even get scratch.. also why they talk in the driver's car before the murder. any other people will feel way more comfortable discussing about their vacation schedule in lobby hotel,. He is Guilty.. I feel very sorry for the victim's family, they will never get the truth.
*100% AGREE!!!* I thought that from day 1 when I 1st heard of this murder. I watched the hour-long of this on Dateline? or First 48? One of those.... a long time ago. And it just makes sense that he'd need to *"make it look authentic"* and then for his FUTURE... *He can pretend to be too distraught and never find love again....FEMALE love again* and then he can keep *sneaking around and having his male lovers* So yeah...Just my 2 cents worth. But it makes sense.
Bingo. You hit the nail right on the head. It's really sad that his culture sees his true sexuality as so wrong that something like this took place. Anni didn't deserve what happened to her. I feel like they are both victims in a way. He, as a victim of his upbringing and culture. Her, as a victim that needlessly lost her life.
Wait what do you mean there was no evidence of his involvement? Let's ignore the text message in the car, and the weird transaction THREE DAYS LATER. Let's ignore that the husbands' story changed. The fact that he didn't get shot and didn't seem to know who did it even though he LITERALLY knew the people who did the crime. Yeah, no evidence at all if you just ignore the evidence. Circumstantial evidence is still evidence.
I was shocked to hear Mike at the end say he doesn’t believe Shrien had anything to do with it. I had to rewind like 5 times to make sure I was hearing him right. Especially when he said that Shrien and the taxi driver were texting each other in the car! That’s a dead giveaway.
While like any of us Mike has his opinion. You can't put someone in jail because you think he's guilty I'm just assuming here, but they probably didn't have any evidence only hear say from men who's stories weren't adding up . My opinion I think the husband is guilty. Very sad case for the bride. 🙏
SAAAAAME. I was honestly blown away that that was his takeaway. For exactly the reason you said, it seems so obvious to me that he did it. Literally, why else would he be texting the driver while they're in the car?
I remember this story like is was yesterday. I didn't believe a word of her being kidnapped and her 'rich' husband being spared. Poor Ani had the misfortune of meeting/marrying this pathetic psychpath who instead of coming clean about his sexuality, orchestrated her murder. A senseless murder and the most painful part is that he got away with it because he's rich.
I don't like his sexuality being painted as a motive tho. Bisexuality is a thing. Also, even if he was straight he could have just got bored, found another lover, realized he didn't want to be married... So him not being straight doesn't prove anything. It's his actions, unbothered attitude and the many claims that were made against him that make him look suspicious
I never thought I see the day I'd disagree with Mike 😅....but the husband totally had her killed IMO. Such a coward to end a life, rather than live his truth (if the narrative about him hiding his sexuality is true). RIP Anni 💔
I’m not sure if she knew about his sexuality. Either way it might be frown upon getting a divorce and maybe he would be expected to marry another woman. It would of been better to let him marry another guy then kill his wife. But for some odd reason he seemed to think he only had one option
Wait a minute, he's able to get that $25,000 engagement ring off her finger without them noticing and he hides it under the seat cushion... in a car he never plans to see again. He doesn't look like one to slum it, so just the trip to that neighborhood convinced me. Also, it didn't look like ransom and they didn't assault her, so what could possibly be the rationale for taking a hostage in a carjacking?
That was on my mind too. What was the point of taking Anni if they just shot her and abandoned the car without even pawning the car in a different city? So they did this for no gain at all? They were first time murderers and all they wanted was nothing but to kill a rich girl? Who would have drawn attention to them? What about Anni made these guys want to kill her soooo bad but not the husband? This case is Infuriating. Poor Anni. She didn't deserve any of this. 💛
@@alfiona7951 I agree. The judge had to make the call, though, based on the confusing evidence. She probably secretly thought he was guilty too. This reminds me of the Oscar Pistorius case in some ways.
@@banjoist123 i agree this was a good case but i flipoed a couple of times myself listening. In the end i think he did it. For the reason everyone mentioned. The way he was acting on camera when he looked up and the way Zola was acting. Suspicious. However the fact that he would ask the first person he met amd that person was willing does seem like a stretch. Hell idk. Im still flippin. 😅
If I may, I’d like to include my two cents on this case. I’m South African and grew up hearing about it occasionally. There were a few things that Mike did not share in the video that I would like to bring to light. Thomas and Calvin Mollett are brothers, they are also forensic investigators and authors. They have successfully proven and found evidence in other gruesome South African murders, such as the case of Reeva Steenkamp, girlfriend of Oscar Pistorius and Inge Lotz and Susan Rode. They focused heavily on Anni’s case and have even written a book about it now, where they go into more detail about what they’ve gathered. It’s titled The Bloodied Bride - Did Shrien Deewani get away with murder? These are some statements according to the two brothers: “ - the biggest mistake police made was letting Shrien leave the country. He was there that night and as a witness at least should have stayed to assist the police with their investigation.” They explained that it not have been a botched robbery, due to the fact that Tonga could not have had the foresight and information to plan the ‘robbery’ at a specific spot in Gugulethu, unless he’d already had the information from the groom. “Shrien could have chosen to dine in Hout Bay, which would not have taken them on the N2 and past Gugulethu.” Meaning that he could have chosen to dine closer to the hotel, instead of going on a highway and getting to the more dangerous areas. The most jarring evidence though was something that the Mollett’s found. It’s a transcription of a meeting that Shrien had with Anni’s family, when he returned to the UK. It was secretly recorded by Anni’s cousin, Sneha Mashru. He told his in-laws that Tonga had left immediately after dropping them off at the hotel, when in reality, he’d spent 10 minutes in the car with Tonga alone, while Anni checked in. Supposedly, Shrien had also withdrawn a large amount of cash to pay for a “surprise helicopter ride.” He didn’t mention this at all to his in-laws. It was revealed in court, but not really focused on. The brothers also mention, “He was there that night when his wife was killed, but he never testified. So this is an effort to distil and deduce from his various versions, what the real story is behind the death of Anni Deewani.” If I may add my own opinion to this. Almost everyone in South Africa agrees that Shrien was the perpetrator. Unfortunately, in Indian communities it’s easier to be a widower than a divorcee. He saw an out and he took it. South African hijackings are common and are no joking matter. If there ever has to be one, the hijackers will never kill one person and let the other go. Secondly, if a car has been stolen or hijacked here, it’s almost guaranteed that it’s never coming back. Cars can be stripped clean within an hour or two. It’s heartbreaking to know that Anni not only passed away, but that her last moments were probably spent panicking and fearing for her life. May she rest in peace. Stay safe y’all.
Yeah Mike messed up on this one. Also he was wrong about saying his orientation shouldnt have been focused on. That's a very naive notion, & it was pretty obviously a lie that he was bi. His secret life was the real him. We saw no female escorts he interacted with. OF COURSE hed say he was bi under the circumstances. Plus the cell phone texts during the kidnapping. & who tips someone in a private room? Youd just hand the money over in the hallway.. & I wouldnt be caught dead in a place that dangerous on my honeymoon. Literally would be my worst nightmare. This story is way too fishy, he wanted her gone
This might be a weird thing to say on a true crime video, but I really appreciate, especially during this time of year, that you say at the end of your videos to take care of ourselves and also saying you love us. Some of us don't get to hear that very often and it can get hard around this time of year. I appreciate you.
Sophia, I so agree with you and I too enjoy hearing Mike say those words at the end of each video. He seems so genuine when he is thanking us for watching his videos, I have commented too to say thank you Mike and I love you too. As for you saying that some people don't often get to hear those words, I appreciate you Sophia and I love ya, because everyone deserves to be loved. Trish out.
Is hard every day of the year not just around this time. "Around this time" what Christmas? Mhmm i don't care about made up pagen holidays. Keep that head up and just work hard.. focus on good and positive and defeat those thoughts and evil attacks on you. Stay blessed.
He's 100% guilty, the case isn't murky at all. The video footage, the circumstances of the crime, the statements from the hitmen, his behavior before and after her murder all point to his guilt. Another tragic case that concludes with injustice...
There is only evidence that the husband was dealing with the driver over some arrangement or affair, but it was never proved to be about the murder of his wife. He may have been trying to set up an underhand business deal, perhaps drug-related, that he organised the honeymoon around, which went wrong and ended up unintentionally getting his wife killed.
@@TheJthom9 It's weird to me that there's a stubborn few who are bending over backwards to defend this man who is clearly guilty. At best, he's shady af and was involved in getting his wife killed but it's pretty obvious to most people that have actually looked into the case that he was directly involved in killing her.
Im from Cape Town, when this story broke - we all knew immediately that something wasn't right. SA might have a high crime rate but kidnappings and ransoms are rare - the fact that they only took her and not him send huge red flags. And NO ONE would go do a township tour at night, let's not sugar coat it, it is what it is - as beautiful as Cape Town is there are many dangerous areas including Townships and the Cape Flats even more so for a tourist, you stick out like a sore thumb. He definitely killed her and I suspect it was due to his sexuality. He would rather be the grieving widower , not be forced to marry again and then can have his secret double life. It's so disgusting how he was able to evade justice. I feel so sorry for Annie's parents but he will get what he deserves one day.
He absolutely did it. There was so much evidence. I cannot believe this was just outright dismissed by the judge. I'm sure his family made a nice big "donation" to someone in that judges family, or had her severely threatened.
Sounds to me like the media made him out to be a villain. People line you make a judgement based of their emotion. People like Mike have their head a little more screwed on. As the judge says "get rekt you ain't no prosecutor just some dude in his feelings"
The fact Mike just entertains us and never asks for anything in return. Never tells us to subscribe or hit the like button. Just does his normal programming and he's good. Very professional. Crazy how if you want you can have your own crime show.

I've commented this before but I can't help it...I love his little 'I love ya' at the end. And the wink. It's absolutely everything! We love you too, Mike. Thank you and Happy Christmas!! ✌️
Haven't ever disagreed with Mike until today. As a South African, EVERYTHING about this case was just off. He's without a doubt, Guilty. He got away with murder.
same here. I was really surprised mike made a comment about the husband probably being innocent. I love his videos and never felt the urge to check the comment section until now. Looks like many seem to think the husband is guilty. I wish Mike would have elaborated more why he thought the husband was perhaps wrongly accused.
No evidence? Her hands had binding Mark's in the van where he was next to Ani. How did her ring get under the seat without Shien putting it there. Thieves would have taken it with the van. South African local news wasn't going to cause a ripple in the World Cuo.
If Anni had asked anyone about that township, EVERYONE she asked would've told her not to go there. I was in Cape Town visiting my grandmother when this happened. That poor woman mustve been terrified. Also...I find it so interesting that he wanted to see the 'real' Africa, when a few days before he had literally seen the real Africa in Kruger National Park. 🤦♀️
The husband got away with murder. There are so many pieces of evidence suggesting he hired them to kill his wife. Sure there could have been discrepancies in the hijackers and the taxi drivers story but there were also discrepancies in the husbands were there not? The husband meeting up with the taxi driver in the hotel, the taxi driver leaving the hotel with an envelope, the husband looking at the cctv camera (just as the taxi driver stated happened when he pointed out to the husband there were cameras), the fact that the driver and the husband were texting each other while they were in the car together, the fact that it is very bizarre for them to have left the safe hotel resort to go explore a shady part of town in the middle of the night, the fact that all 3 men pointed to the husband and their stories matched with one another’s, the fact that the husband lied about the ring he said he gave to the hijackers but it was actually in the car, the fact that the husband claimed the hijackers wanted the valuables and the car but yet they left the car on the side of the road, also why would the men kidnap the wife if they got what they wanted already because it was pointed out that she was not sexually assaulted so it wasn’t about that either, the fact that the wife’s friends said she was very unhappy in the marriage and had texts to prove she said those things and she said that her husband treated her badly, the fact that the husband showed no interest in his wife’s funeral arrangements or speaking to her family, the fact that he was quick to move on to new relationships when he returned to London, the fact that he showed no signs of sadness on those recordings after his wife was killed….the list goes on and on and some people are really going to tell me this man is innocent or that there isn’t enough evidence to prove that he is guilty of the murder of his wife…I really don’t know how many more red flags you need.
To believe he is innocent you must believe there is a huge conspiracy between the police and those killers to pin it on the husband because umm they are really concerned about South Africa’s tourism😂
The biggest evidence is that they kept the husband alive.. criminals can be dumb, but they're not THAT dumb as to only take one witness but leave another. If it was a real robbery they'd be either both alive or both dead.
grew up in South Africa and everyone here thinks he's guilty, there's absolutely no chance you'd go to this area, let alone after leaving an expensive hotel like that, its like staying at the rits then going into a gang area: tarnished the reputation of my country and resulted in the loss of life of a beautiful young woman with so much potential, it's absolutely ridiculous that this awful man got away with this, rest in peace Anni, you deserved so much more
I am so grateful u covered this case! I live in SA and the outcome of the trial has sickened me to my core 🤬 This was 100% a hire-for-murder case. No one, not a single person, would travel to an area like that. SA is not a safe country. And bribery is the easiest way to get away with murder......
I think you got this one wrong Mike. I was *REALLY* surprised to hear you say he had nothing to do with it! Texting each other in the car around Anni. The car being left & not chopped PDQ. Him saving her very expensive ring and a myriad other things. He got away with murder because he managed to stretch out extradition for four years. I can't remember what i did last month accurately & if you understand a little about how human memory works then the fact that these people's memories diverged and fractured in four years isn't surprising. It's these divergences & fractures that his defence team leveraged to, essentially, get him off on a technicality. Leaving him free to run back to Randy Ron but with his Hindu credentials unsullied. That poor woman. Even her death was a sham. She deserved better.
My sentiments exactly. I lived in South Arica at the time this awful incident to place. Shien is absolutely guilty, no doubt. How he lives with himself, only he knows. I shudder to think what Annie went through at the end of her precious life.
@@TheJthom9 the guy was a stinking rich businessman. How much would he make doing an illegal deal in South Africa? Not millions, not even a hundred thousand dollars. So you think he'd risk his life & livelihood like that unnecessarily to make some pretty cash. The more logical explanation is that he is guilty of arranging his wife's death.
Mike is not that good of a storyteller. There are dozens of youtubers in this genre can narrate and have better common sense than him. I only found this channel yesterday and have watched multiple videos. All I can say is where there's a will, there's a way. He has over a million subs and good for him.
@@ozosmanlitorunu I think you missed the point. The evidence didn't clearly show that he was guilty, so just assuming his guilt "because I can't see any other way" would be unjust and inhumane. If we want to live in a world where innocent people aren't convicted of crimes they didn't commit, we can't be putting people in prison just because we think they are guilty or because it seems to be the only explanation. It needs to be proven beyond any doubt because things are not always as they first seem. It's a sad thing that sometimes guilty people go free, but it's even sadder when an innocent person has to go to prison. "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer" as Sir William Blackstone stated back in 1760's.
Sorry Mike, I disagree with you. I feel that the husband was involved, no one becomes this close to a taxi driver on holiday. Who would take their new wife to an area that dangerous whilst on honeymoon? No man I know. If he really wanted to see another part of South Africa that was not so touristy he could have gone in the daytime. Also, who has ever paid their taxi driver in their hotel room?.
EXACTLY! I'm still furious that he got off ... BUT, he can never escape his conscience ... IF HE HAS ONE??? He always looked so frigg'n smug and sure of himself.
It's really surprising how little research Mike did here. I usually don't know much about the cases he covers so usually take him on his word, but this case I know quite well and now I'm concerned that this is the level of efforts he puts into all the shows
well the paying him in the hotel room is because after the carjacking he didn't pay him the night it happened....that part at least is perfectly plausible
I honestly don't feel sorry for the husband, being outed isn't fun but neither is getting shot and having your murder planned by the man who you wanted to spend the rest of your life with, he definitely planned to have her killed and I hope he is still suffering to this day because of it, may Anni rest in peace ❤
Exactly! The fighting between the 2 of them was ongoing from the time they got there. I watched a Dateline or First 48 hrs when this murder 1st happened and they showed all the text messages for Anni to her family and she's not wanting to do this anymore. She's ready to come home and wishes she'd never went through with the marriage. THEY text with Anni and tell her to stick it out and keep trying since this is all new to both of them. It seems to me that Anni told them that he'd not have sex with her and wasn't really into romantically touching her. It's been years since I watched it but I think it's correct. I'm going to try to find the Dateline or First 48 and see if that statement is correct.
@softmoon I think some people are giving Shrien Dewani the benefit of the doubt because he was outed. However, just because the husband shouldn't be thrown under the bus simply because of his sexuality doesn't mean his innocent either. There are a lot of unanswered question that don't make sense. Like what were they doing at a dangerous part of town, why did they take the wife but not the husband, why did they leave the car. None of it makes sense and the police really should have done a better job confirming the confession of other conspirators rather than just take their word for it.
Firstly, I want to mention how well you put your videos together and I'm literally obsessed with watching them. But I must say that you really did an injustice with this case. So many missed points you could have mentioned and a little disappointed you came to the conclusion you came to. As a South African I just wish you did a more thorough job.. And would be great to come back and make another video on it. My opinion: 100% guilty.
You,me,and everyone in the comment section disagrees with Mikeys opinion at the end of his video and that’s okay. He didn’t “drop the ball “ or “Do an injustice with the case” Some of you seem to forget, Mikey is not a News presenter, he’s not a journalist He’s not a criminal investigator. He’s an everyday person who makes UA-cam videos in his free time probably from his bedroom. He owes us nothing,no one should be disappointed in his opinion, we have ours and it’s no big deal.
Agree mike has to explain how he doesn't think his involved the killers just didn't talk about what to say so they were prob all over the place but he was guilty as heck cctv proves he was meeting with the killers come on man
I don’t agree that he is innocent in this. Why would he meet up with a driver at the hotel like that? Why would the driver and his mates target them specifically? Especially considering that that Cape Town is a tourist location and many wealthy tourist frequent there. There may not be enough evidence to point to his guilt but that doesn’t mean that he’s not guilty. I personally think that because he is very wealthy that it definitely had an influence on the verdict.

Being in the closet is no excuse for murder in any fashion, and I don't give a damn about sexual identity. Mr. Dewani was lucky that he didn't have to face a jury. A judge in South Africa is given enormous power.
@@jenniehughes6927 Absolutely. If his rich parents hadn't hired the South African equivalent of O.J. Simpson's "Dream Team" (though these guys had a bit more class), he'd be rotting in a jail rather posting selfies with his current boyfriend on social media.

The Oscar Pistorius case demonstrated how incredibly bad SA judges are. They just seem to be inexplicably drawn to a mind-blowingly incomprehensible lack of justice.
Maybe you should go over there and rule over every case by looking at public opinion and sentencing someone to life because of your personal suspicions despite the lack of evidence. That sounds very reasonable to me.
@@bec5250 I looked really closely at it, there was nothing directly linking him. No confession no chat logs no recorded phone call. The right thing to do was to let him go.
@@shortstarwarsessays1842 It was looked closely at by the prosecution; the evidence, from the shots through the door, to his inexplicable decision to fire those shots, that meant he was as guilty as heck. A confession is not needed when the evidence is overwhelming, which it was. The verdict of guilty of murder was correct. Pistorius was an angry, entitled, controlling little man who murdered his partner in an extreme act of rage and domestic violence. And men like him never confess. They are the sort of coward who will murder a cowering women by shooting her from behind a door. Facing up to the truth about himself and what he did is not part of the psyche of a narcissist like Pistorius.
@@bec5250 your reaction is that of a typical person, you are using emotion to sway your opinion. They have no texts or calls for proof they only have circumstantial evidence which they really stretched to try and get a conviction. They have almost nothing on him, also the guy they first questioned ratted out two other people and only outed the Husband after he was offered a plea deal. Evidence to me leans towards innocent.
Why would he be laughing and smiling and paying him the next day.. I mean even if it was for regular driving servicing why would he be smiling and laughing? How could he have nothing to do with it?
I know this case. Her husband was acquitted of her murder, but, I still think he had something to do with it. I don't trust that guy, he's really sketchy, in his personal life.
I agree! Weird he was sitting in the hotel lobby talking to the driver. What would that have to discuss with him that long? Plus the texts between the two in the car
I'm a South African and I remember this story. The waste of a man made our whole country look bad at the time. South Africans was crying for the death penalty to come back for Anni's killers. Little did we all know that the mastermind behind ball of this was her own husband.
Have any murders happens since ? Like I’m confused why you’re blaming the death and not the media for creating fake outrage. I live in Austin, Texas we rank on nearly every “top cities in the US to move to” list you can find but there are still have over 80 murders this year alone …..
Weeellll, I hate to break it to you, but your country has looked pretty bad for years. I had never heard of this case, but I knew SA could be extremely dangerous. I don't know, I found the judge's remarks compelling and I KNOW she had all the evidence to look at, while we just have this video or a 48 hours episode.
Yeah, the husband was involved and he did get away with murder... This case was huge here in Sweden when it happened and there were so many twists and turns from start. It leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth... So sorry for Anni and her family. As for the POS that got away - not so much. But you can only hope for what goes around comes around.
I am just curious if you can prove what you're saying in a court of law. If not then this is defamation and it is done on a public domain which only increases the damages awarded to the person being discussed. Its not what you think or know it is what you can prove in a court of law.
Agreed. Mike left out a lot of detail in this one. (maybe only circumstantial but still...). First heard about this through Casefile podcast and that covered this case a lot better.
As a South African, I'm ashamed that we let Shrien get away with murder. Anni was a beautiful, intelligent woman who didn't deserve to be murdered. My love to Anni Hindocha and her family...
@ Timonzaa Sims I think you should take pride in this judge. She did not say that he wasn't guilty, she made very clear that even the family of the victim and the public opinion believe in his guilt, she just CAN'T let stuff like that take away the fact that there was no hard evidence and the circumstantial "evidence" was just in no reasonable way enough to prove him guilty. She made clear that her job includes the hard fact that even her personal opinion can't play a role in the verdict. Judges with a spine like that are really rare and I would be pride of every single one like that in my own country. Justice is not listening to the public and even if that is hard to swallow.. it isn't even the question if someone COMMITTED a crime but if it is possible to prove that. Judges who put away people for crimes with so little evidence scare me far more than any judge that is ready to accept that securing right as best as you can so innocent ones don't end up behind bars can mean that a guilty one walks because there is just not enough evidence. I don't know if the husband was involved but I agree that they just failed to PROVE that he did. Crime is everywhere in the world.. that scares me less then the possibility to end up behind bars because I am the suspect the public opinion calls guilty and judges and juries that can't even think of going against this opinion.
@Shea Zanders Wow, please say you’re not for real? This is real life, true crime, not a movie, and demanding “spoiler warnings” from a person commenting on a video says a lot about your imagined entitlement. Smh!
Mike has to be very careful calling a man a murderer after being found not guilty in court. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. My belief is the guy got away with murder, it's very sad indeed.
Well if you follow Mike's vids..... he's never been scared to call bullshit. Mike is openly giving an opinion, which is at odds with the majority of his viewers..... Opinions are wonderful things
Mike, I was just talking about this case the other day. I think you got this wrong. The husband ordered the hit and hence him netting the driver in places where there weren’t cameras, leaving the scene so soon, and delaying justice. Little pansy. I hope he has an awful life. He could’ve just said broken off the engagement. I wish you would’ve covered the a few of the witnesses. They solidified it for me. May he rot in hell. I felt awful for her family
@@celtasnake The Judge basically said that the charges against him were dropped due to the fact that there wasn't enough direct evidence to support his being involved in her murder. In other words, there wasn't enough evidence to connect him to her murder to have even have brought charges against him to arrest him to start with. That doesn't mean that he was found innocent beyond a reasonable doubt. There's a HUGE difference between those two things.
@@Nostalgic_1 Well even with reasonable doubt, that doesn't mean they're *found* innocent - just that they can't be proven guilty. IMO that's actually pretty much the same thing (though still support your point), as in both instances, there isn't enough evidence to convict, basically. In the eyes of the state they are innocent until proven guilty, but that also doesn't mean they are proven innocent.
I remember this case. Pity it is said that our country wanted to save face very easy to use that. If you live here you would have a better understanding. This guy is guilty he was the mastermind. No doubt! I dont feel sorry for him at all he got away with murder.
I disagree with Mike and do believe the husband had everything to do with Anni's murder, as there's simply too many odd actions on the part of Shrien. However, I also understand the verdict of the trial because you need to be certain of his part in the plot, and because of the witnesses' poor account of the events, this saddly couldn't be established beyond a shadow of a doubt, and there should be no room for public opinion and just feelings of odd behaviour in making such a decision. If we had the text messages shared between Shrien and the taxi driver while together in the car with Anni there, this could really elucidate the whole thing. I wonder why these couldn't be retrieved.

@Salt Salt1975 I may be talking out of my ass here cause I don't know much about their culture, but I assumed he'd be pressured to get married. Especially as someone from a wealthy family with a social standing to consider.
Idk man, the husband hiding a ring and lying about it, to me says that he didn't really care about his wife's safety but just his own pocket wealth and possibly knew he was gon be fine too - and then he did not wanna overpay the dudes
So we'll just forget all about the fact that the husband and the driver were texting each other about the murder? This is why people don't like lawyers - twisting the system and the procedure so disable evidence which would directly effect the outcome of guilt or innocence. It's sad for everybody, sad for justice. Funny how the guilty can go free and the degree of quality of defense relates to money, once again.
the state/crown has UNLIMITED resources. They can spend 1 000 000's on experts, dna, etc They can work 1000's of hours on a case + the media+the police etc all working for them. to screw people who can't even pay for a proper defence everyday .. The conviction rates are insane highly in most western countries. .... thats why there's so many legal rights to try a midgate the overwhelming power of the state.. A defence lawyer has the entire deck stacked against them with almost no funding, so if the defence works the system once in while. You shouldn't care ( your the average citizen, you should be pro defendant in general. Innocent until proven guilty and pro blackstone's formulation.. ''I'd see 9 guilty men go free before i'd send a innocent man to jail'' ) the crown works the system to screw people everyday.. Seriously if the state ever sets sights on someone you love. You'll see how much overwhelming power they have compare to someone who has to pay million dollars just get a okay murder defence. Better hope its not a hung jury or longer trial then expected.. you'll need another million .. Yeah a possible murder got free, Like i said. i'd see 9 possible murders go free rather then torture to death a innocent person... Don't worry the state was already made up for that murder by railroading someone else
The State essentially does the same thing except in a different way, they're often extremely disingenuous with the context of evidence, they bend reality and time frames to fit their mold, they pretend coincidences don't exist even though they happen constantly to us in everyday life and as the poster above said they have virtually limitless resources.
@@MichaelPhillips-jw4bj If you're familiar with this case, though, the family was wealthy enough to basically hire the two most experienced, clever defense lawyers in South Africa. I'm not saying everyone shouldn't have a good defense--they should--but the South Africans accused didn't have fancy lawyers, and now one is dead and the others are in jail (except for the one guy the cops gave immunity to for telling on the others). And they managed to delay his extradition to South Africa for YEARS.
Prosecutors also send innocent people to jail. So do cops if they decide you’re guilty based on a whim. Don’t paint one side as the Gillian it’s a two way street.

Love your videos Mike, but jeeze your judgements on this one are OFF. Coming from an Indian culture, where marriage and honour to tradition are held in high regard - and homosexuality certainly isn't, who knows what cultural pressures this man was under and what resentments he may have harboured towards his wife. Another thing to note: a lot of indian families deny their children of inheritance money, if they don't conform to tradition, which might explain why he agreed to marry his wife in the first place, but wanted out. Plus there are too many things in this case that do NOT make sense or add up, for him to be innocent. I'd say he was a calculating, self-serving narcisist, who led a double life. He planned his wife's murder, to get out of a marriage he didn't want to be in, but which he may have financially benefited from, while maintaining the respect of his family.. that he otherwise wouldn't have gotten, had he just divorced her or gone on to lead a marriageless, homosexual life, that he secretly desired. It was a marriage of convenience, and a convenient death. Open up your eyes Mike!
Anyone with common sense knows it's one of those cases of 'he got away with it.' Shrein's behavior, demeanor & actions on video are subtle but obvious of guilt but without any proper evidence to prove he was behind it without a doubt. It's such a sad story.. how can any man surprise his new bride with a frightening kidnapping & murder on her honeymoon, if only she went with her gut feelings to never marry the guy.
He was on camera, end of story. Nobody brings a taxi driver up to their room to pay them, you pay them in the car. I doubt most people would even let you leave their car before paying, much less follow you to their room.
However if the driver happened to plan all of it from the get go , and played the victim with the husband than it would all make sense . The husband never tried to hide or conceal himself in those videos and lived in a country that polices on CCTV .
My thought was it was a framing attempt. "No you dont have to pay me now, I'll get it from you later", ask him if there are cameras in his hotel, he looks around and says yes. So they figure, let's show up and make it look like he paid us for a murder, when he's just paying for the driving. Farfetched? Yeah. But people do weird shit to cover their tracks and when you consider that, it's not that wild of an idea. Some things the husband did make no sense. However, I was on the same track of thinking as Mike from the start. You ask the first taxi driver you meet for a hitman? What are the chances he is willing, the chances he knows people willing to do it, the chances he doesnt turn you in? And why would an intelligent guy go that route? He has money, he has connections, that's the best method to find a hitman? I say all this with question marks, because none of us know, but the judge is absolutely right: there are too many questions in this case to convict beyond a reasonable doubt.

There's nothing to agree with. He can't just say they're guilty when a court of law has found them not guilty. There's suspicious circumstances and questions that remained unanswered but definitely not enough to convict someone of murder. If you lower the burden of proof a lot of innocent people will inevitably go to jail. That's why it has to be guilty beyond doubt.
This is an opinion channel and can't be used in a court of law. Calm down. I actually had to rewind it a few times to be sure I had heard Mike say I don't think he's guilty 😵
I believe Shrien is guilty. Why would the murderers implicate him? What benefit would there be to them unless there was a plea deal on the table for each of them. Why would he meet up with Zola the next day while his wife was still missing. Why did they abandon the car if that’s what they were after? Why did Shrien say he gave them the rings when he didn’t? What were they texting about during the car ride?
him being alive is a big giveaway for his involvement, if they killed his wife he'd definitely be dead as well i don't know what his goal was in getting her killed though
@@shmiqqy Yes. You and Kris P just hit all the reasons that point to murder, not carjacking/robbery. I suspect the reason he married her was to show his family he was straight. Once married, she had served his purpose, and, from that point on would only be in his way. So, since divorcing her right away would look odd, and, might displease his family, I am guessing that murder seemed to him to be his best option.
Why implicate him? To pass off responsibility. What benefit? Conspiracy to commit murder instead of murder Why meet Zola the next day? To pay him for his taxi service (the guy had his car stolen, so he could no longer do his job...a decent person would pay him what he owed him). Why abandon the car? Once it became the place where the murder took place it needed to be abandoned. Why the rings? Maybe he dropped them, maybe he forgot what he did exactly, maybe they took off the rings at first and hid them and then as things escalated he forgot about it (fog of war). What were they texting about during the ride? No idea there...maybe they were flirting.
Pretty interesting thread on this one. Especially the South African take on it. I'm from Bristol, UK, his home town so we had endless local news coverage, mainly about his 4 year fight to escape extradition by reason of insanity. Of him shuffling about with his head down, sockless feet shoved into unlaced shoes, speaking only in mumbles, it was a fine performance worthy of RADA. We also saw texts by her to her sister actually on the honeymoon saying how unhappy she was and we were shown CCTV footage of them arguing together with her in floods of tears. I don't care how sorry people feel about his cultural predicament with regards to his sexuality : the bottom line is SHE is the victim, not him. He's guilty as hell imo.

I researched this case not long after it happened. There is so much more to it and Mike can't possibly sum it all up in half an hour. I do recall there were suspicions Shrien had been in contact with the South Africans before the wedding even took place. Anni was desperately unhappy and there were dozens more texts to friends about the relationship and how horrible Shrien was being to her. I suspect Anni had an inkling about Shrien's sexuality before the wedding and was going to use that as a reason to get the marriage annulled. Pretty weird how they let the husband go & not kill them both. You’d think that if this is just a random robbery, they wouldn’t want to leave any witnesses behind.
That's a very good point. Also, usually when someone is making a plea deal they flip on a co-conspirator who is already in custody, or at the very least someone the police have their eye on. Because a plea deal is only any good if you offer up something worthwhile. If you just make shit up, the police and the court are going to know and come down even harder on you because voiding a plea is just about the stupidest thing you can do. You'll just get extra charges of perjury, contempt of court and perverting the course of justice piled on top of you, putting you in an even worse situation than you started out with.
in the video they said there was evidence the gun went off by mistake and I think the fact that all the "hitmen" turned out to be complete liars throws massive massive doubt on wether he was involved or not. i can see why he'd think the husband was innocent, i bought into someone else's theory that the husband was trying to have kids to be eligible for family inheritance but i cannot figure out why he'd have his wife killed so early, he wasn't forced into the marriage or anything, they met each other and got engaged by their own choice, so what exactly was he trying to achieve? i 90% believe shrien set it up, the motive is what stumps me

I mean that’s a bit of a blanket statement …. Lots of places have Night Markets and those are huge tourist attractions. Lots of bars and clubs as well …. People shouldn’t not go out at night they should just NOT hire a hitman to kill their spouse is all.
Right. Not just late at night, but that place doesn’t look like a honeymoon spot. SA like every other country has places the rich go to. That was not one of those places. They left the entirety of Europe to go to a foreign “ghetto”? Not insulting your home country, I’m American and we have no room to talk about ghettos and bad neighborhoods. They could’ve gone to France, Greece, Italy for a lot less since they were European! The Krueger part was cool, I’d LOVE to go on Safari, as soon as they showed that aerial shot of that town, I was like, oh hell no. I wouldn’t have gotten out the car until it was back at the airport! He did that shit!
If they wanted to rob either both of them or even just Annie they could have just threatened them. Even when it was just Annie in the car they could have threatened her taken her valuables then pushed her out of the vehicle- alive and physically okay. I don’t believe it was a robbery gone wrong.
We LOVE you, too!! You and your humor and storytelling, all wrapped up, feel like a hug. I’m a retired nurse, disabled from a work injury , bed bound most days.

Gotta disagree with you here Mike. Far too many questionable moves on Shrien's part - texting the driver in the car, paying him after the incident & then scoping out the security cameras...all screams guilty to me.
That is nowhere near enough evidence to put someone in prison for murder. Suspicion doesn't equal full guilty verdict.
I have a feeling it was less sinister than that. Could be just asking about male hookers/sex workers, which he'll also need to do privately behind the wife's back and the driver and his friends kinda took advantage of it. Just a thought.
So Shrien actually paid the driver for his services 3 days after the hijacking and murder. That alone seems really questionable.

The way he looked at her in the wedding video really illustrates the way he felt about His new bride (imo)
So sad!
Hello Noreen!! I totally agree! Van Joburg
Thank you for this info. Wasn't sure but this makes me believe he was definitely in on it
I stay in Cape Town and it is common knowledge to every single person who stays here of where not to go, especially at night. The cab driver would've been wary to take them to such a place unless there was something bigger than his normal cab fee in it for him. That Shrien guy is definitely guilty and there is a lot of evidence that supports this claim.
This ☑️
There’s also a good amount of gaps to assume he is innocent, there is no direct evidence that he did it so I think it’s very fair to assume he is innocent.

SAAAAAME. I was honestly blown away that that was his takeaway. For exactly the reason you said, it seems so obvious to me that he did it. Literally, why else would he be texting the driver while they're in the car?
He seemed more concerned about shien being outed and his sexuality than his guilt.
SPOT ON
I wonder how much his family paid the judge to dismiss the charges against him.

Agreed..

When you put it like that-
That was on my mind too.

These are some statements according to the two brothers:
“ - the biggest mistake police made was letting Shrien leave the country. He was there that night and as a witness at least should have stayed to assist the police with their investigation.”
They explained that it not have been a botched robbery, due to the fact that Tonga could not have had the foresight and information to plan the ‘robbery’ at a specific spot in Gugulethu, unless he’d already had the information from the groom.
So this is an effort to distil and deduce from his various versions, what the real story is behind the death of Anni Deewani.”
If I may add my own opinion to this.
Do you think Mike has a reason to feel sorry for Shrien as I am convinced he got away with murder

It's haunting and scary if the main conspirator goes free while all others lost their lifes because of his plan.
Agree the husband did it

This was 100% a hire-for-murder case.

Yup when Mike said you have to feel bad for him for being outed. Nope, I don’t feel sorry for murderers! I’d bet money he planned it.
i did not
you don't know that, there was not enough evidence. You can't send someone away in prison with poor evidence, even if he did plot to kill her.
Firstly, I want to mention how well you put your videos together and I'm literally obsessed with watching them. But I must say that you really did an injustice with this case. So many missed points you could have mentioned and a little disappointed you came to the conclusion you came to. As a South African I just wish you did a more thorough job..

Pistorius was an angry, entitled, controlling little man who murdered his partner in an extreme act of rage and domestic violence. And men like him never confess. So sorry for Anni and her family. As for the POS that got away - not so much. But you can only hope for what goes around comes around.
Did he? Where's your proof?
I am just curious if you can prove what you're saying in a court of law. If not then this is defamation and it is done on a public domain which only increases the damages awarded to the person being discussed. Its not what you think or know it is what you can prove in a court of law.
While it's likely that the husband had her killed, that's a bold claim to make without having been on the jury.
Karma will come around, trust me… 😡
Agreed. Mike left out a lot of detail in this one. (maybe only circumstantial but still...). First heard about this through Casefile podcast and that covered this case a lot better.

I think you should take pride in this judge.
Smh!

The Judge basically said that the charges against him were dropped due to the fact that there wasn't enough direct evidence to support his being involved in her murder.

''I'd see 9 guilty men go free before i'd send a innocent man to jail'' )
the crown works the system to screw people everyday..
Case dismissed. No way can this channel call the husband a murderer in plain language without facing legal repercussions.
Anyone with common sense knows it's one of those cases of 'he got away with it.'
Shrein's behavior, demeanor & actions on video are subtle but obvious of guilt but without any proper evidence to prove he was behind it without a doubt. It's such a sad story.. how can any man surprise his new bride with a frightening kidnapping & murder on her honeymoon, if only she went with her gut feelings to never marry the guy.
If she dies he keeps her money, if they divorce he gets nothing and looks bad. He wanted to have his cake and eat it too!
Yea he did it. But don't u dare insult Mike!!!
This judge has no sense. The ruling was the wrong one.
The husband never tried to hide or conceal himself in those videos and lived in a country that polices on CCTV .
....mob rule, end of reason.
Couldn't they have just checked how much he withdrew? If it matched what the driver said then I would be convinced it was the husband.
Plus they were texting on the day of the murder!
I don't believe the husband, he definitely has something to do with the murder.
Karma will find him.
Doubt it. Hell enjoy his life and die peacefully. Not saying he's not a Pos just doubting justice will find him in this life
Meh... karma is meaningless... we have a JUST and yet MERCIFUL GOD who will render to all according to their works and faith......."Karma" is simply a merciless retribution that leaves EVERYONE due damnation for their wickedness... But, Thank God for His mercy, there is forgiveness to those who seek forgiveness and reconciliation with God through faith in His Son Jesus.... the entire purpose of celebrating the birth of Jesus at "Christmas" is the gif of mercy of God that allows sinful, condemned men (that's *_all_* of us) to find MERCY and forgiveness......... but beware Jesus Christ said "if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matt 6:14-15)....
Merry Christmas... and Thank God there is something better than "Karma" :)
This guy has gotten away with murder and is living his life. Karma always seems to strike too late or completely bypasses those who deserve it most.
@@edinsoncavanirespector I agree.
@@joyousbloom731 no such thing as "Karma"... just Final Judgment and a JUST God who will damn each of us for our sin.... *_unless_* we receive God's mercy through His gift of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Merry Christmas!!

He’s sooooo guilty!!!! I’ve followed this case for years and know a lot of details and reading the other comments has made me think “GUILTY” even more. Come on Mike!! I love you but surely you don’t think he’s innocent?!?!?
Mike is probably worried about slander. Shrien wasn't convicted so I think this leaves Mike vulnerable to slander. Mike sort of muttered it under his breath. My guess is that he felt he had to just state it and he did so unobtrusively so not everyone would catch it. Either that or he was being sarcastic, but the sarcasm was open to interpretation so that he would be protected.
Hubby hired the hit. No reason to be on CC TV w the taxi driver the morning after the hijacking w/o reporting what had happened to his new wife. Also the envelope exchange and the texting while in the car- what did they have to say that they couldn’t say in front of Anni?? 👀
Very sad case. Anni deserved so much more
No mike, I don’t feel bad for him nor will I ever
I've agreed with you on every case up til now.He is absolutely guilty! But no worries, I love your show! I think you should be on TV!
@@scottandcoke1342 he wasn't found not guilty because the evidence proved he didn't do it. he was found not guilty because the witnesses lied.
@@JoshyJosh omg same here!!! I agree with you

What were they texting about during the car ride?
him being alive is a big giveaway for his involvement, if they killed his wife he'd definitely be dead as well
i don't know what his goal was in getting her killed though
@@shmiqqy thats because he is innocent and was found innocent. Internet detectives are the worst. Don’t quit your day job.
@@jg7102 Nobody is found innocent, you are either found guilty or not guilty based on the evidence (or lack of it).
Conspiracy to commit murder instead of murder
Why meet Zola the next day?
I couldn't agree more and think he's 100 % guilty of orchestrating this murder on his wife. I'm curious was the majority concensus in the UK 🇬🇧 that he was guilty? It seems very obvious of his guilt in setting this up..
You are correct my babber 💯❤️Bristol…….born and bred ❤️
@@anitaknight3915 Many people thought he was guilty in UK; we heard that this kind of murder for hire was a thing with tourists to SA, and not the first time it had happened. Your face when you deliver, "inside & out". Pure comedy.
He began living with a muscled dom guy less than 4 years after he was cleared, in a £3.5 million apartment in London.
But why did she marry him when he was the Red Flag guy beforehand? What lured her in? Surely not just money?
My gosh that muscled man must be putting a hole in that bootay

Im not saying its impossible or even unlikely but I just dont think there is enough to draw that conclusion.
Exactly. He is the mastermind of the plot and got away with murder because he is filthy rich. Period.
@@bertieclayton4865 so you’re telling me the gun went off by mistake & somehow managed to hit the wife three times in a row? Is it an automatic rifle?
@@As-yx3pz just repeating what was said in the video. And even if the killers did excecute her doesn’t mean he was involved. I’ll admit it’s an incrediblely fishy scenario but I just think there are plenty of reasonable doubts and if I was a juror I wouldn’t be able to find him guilty .
There's too many factors that point directly to Shrian Dawani. For me there's no question about his guilt. It is although impossible to expect justice for this woman now.
I think he's guilty. The repeated contact with the driver sways me.
I've known about this case for a long time and never really doubted his guilt. I have a little doubt now after watching the video. You made some really good points but honestly for me the CCTV evidence is still overwhelming. It just doesn't make sense unless he was involved.

I HAD to run to the comments immediately for this one! This is the first time I’ve ever whole heartedly disagreed with Mike’s conclusion, it very disheartening that you believe the husband is just a victim of circumstance. That completely makes no sense. I hope this is the only video I disagree with I really like the storytelling delivery he gives!
You can still enjoy all his video's, we don't always have to agree all the time so don't be disheartened. I believe the husband hired a hit also, no way would he of paid someone he hardly knew to take them to renound dangerous places. He would of hired security, which he could of easily afforded

@@boathousejoed9005 exactly, and the verdict was already said, without proof it could be seen as slander.
i can see why he'd think the husband was innocent, i bought into someone else's theory that the husband was trying to have kids to be eligible for family inheritance but i cannot figure out why he'd have his wife killed so early, he wasn't forced into the marriage or anything, they met each other and got engaged by their own choice, so what exactly was he trying to achieve?
i 90% believe shrien set it up, the motive is what stumps me
@@shmiqqy I could only make guesses, but my gut tells me he knew what he wanted to do before the plane wheels hit the tarmac in SA. Maybe that resentment towards poor Anni boiled to hate. We may never know the reason, that will be between him and his maker

If they wanted to rob either both of them or even just Annie they could have just threatened them. Even when it was just Annie in the car they could have threatened her taken her valuables then pushed her out of the vehicle- alive and physically okay.
