  • In the city of Orange, New Jersey, people went missing. It all began when a house fire was revealed to be a cover up, and would eventually lead to a missing woman's friends tracking down a murderous man on the loose. But Khalil Wheeler-Weaver just didn't seem like the type, he was a nice guy. What happened?

I was high school classmates with the last victim, Sarah. Gosh we were all devastated when she went missing. And then found in eagle rock park. That was the kids hangout spot kinda place. To smoke bud, usually. I went there often. God bless her soul :( she was from Montclair NJ. Peculiar that you covered her case and the POS that ended it…. There was a program in my elementary school where older kids would be an example and friend to the younger kid. You would be assigned a specific kid. She was mine when she would’ve been in middle school I remember crying finding out what happened.…. RIP. She was super nice. We even took the same bus home in HS. Writing this makes me feel slightly better about it. It’s wild to come across her story on That Chapter. God bless her

Actually asking why a victim of abuse why they didn't leave is infact a valid question, and the reasons are varied as well. Some victims are scared the abuser will come after them. Some don't have anywhere to go and can't support themselves or their children. Some like being married and don't want to be without a man. Some are afraid of societal pressure etc. The list goes on. It is important to ask victims why they didn't leave not only to understand them but also for others to learn from their mistakes and be empowered to leave. It is in fact a very natural question.

He claimed that he could not have otherwise stopped and that he wanted to so bad that the only way he knew how was to turn himself in. He claimed to have satisfied his need to kill once he killed his mother and her friend. So I am not sure how that relates to not being able to stop. He did claim both things in testimony and statements to the press. I would call that remorse and empathy for any future potential victims.

@@extragoogleaccount6061 his motive was probably because killing someone made him feel something, that rush of adrenaline, which was like a drug, otherwise he felt nothing, cause he's a psychopath. Not all psychopaths kill, many of them are your bosses, they don't care if they have to lay off a 1000 people to increase the company's revenue, they are cold and calculated, that's why emotions do not interfere in their decision making, which makes them better than those with perfectly normal, healthy brains. Of course that doesn't mean they are everywhere. Psychopaths just don't have the same worldview as we.
Psychopaths don't truly love, they can pretend or even know they should/have to, but never emotionally. They can get attached to you rather in a logical way - "what do I gain from being with you, what do I lose from being with you, does it provide me the things I want" etc.
Most Psychopaths or Sociopaths don't kill.
The motive of that guy is probably feeling something. Many serial killers described how they could only be satisfied either sexually or by feeling the rush or having total control over someone's life, only when killing someone (as this is the highest offense in the eyes of the public a person can do against another person), hunting the prey too.
