It is very interesting that a “training” simulation allows you to convince the quartermaster to give you an off-the-books gauss rifle. One would think the military would want to discourage soldiers who think they can sweet talk their way around the rules.

paulo henrique Because besides the swaying of the scope. He could've waited a bit until the scope was on point and hit the targets without wasting ammunition.
The captured soldier in the trenches near the end can be easily explained I believe. Though the Chinese don't take prisoners, this means the long term, POW camp type capture. The tied up soldiers were probably just recently captured and awaiting battlefield interrogation before execution
Regarding the vulnerability of power armor to EMPs, one of the few uses for pulse grenades in Fallout 3 is to disable power armor-clad enemies. It's likely that Chinese troops WERE issued with pulse grenades, but perhaps not a whole lot of them, and at best would only be effective against a single unit, leaving one vulnerable to his backup. The EMP field can cover a much wider area but likely is too bulky to be portable and requires a lot of power, relegating it to static defensive deployment. Oh, and those jets at around 33:50? Those were Chinese bombers, not American. Lastly, there is a possibility that some of the changes made to the simulation by General Chase were in good faith. It was designed as a training simulation, after all, so some changes may have been made to better prepare soldiers for a wider variety of scenarios than what could be presented with a 100% accurate simulation of the battle. A notable example is the Chimera tank, which , according to some cut content, supposedly wasn't present in that particular sector at that time, but adding it to the sim provided trainees with an opportunity to practice anti-tank tactics against enemy armor.
@@isaacg5438the fact there are gas trails. Those planes are burning gas to operate. Americans used Nuclear energy. Since those planes are gas, it's safe to assume it was Chinese air power considering the rough state of the HQ and American forces. After destroying the artillery guns, you can get all the loadout guns by requesting a loadout, dropping the guns, then rinse and repeat until you have all the weapons you want, then you pick them up and bob's your uncle. Is you have high enough Science skill, after doing the Int. speech check with Montgomery you have the option to say something to the effect of "I wouldn't presume to argue with A.I. subroutines." He then asks if you've bumped your head during the last part of the mission.
But this isn't even an accurate representation of the actual battle. it was a propaganda simulation. Which is fine, but he acts as if its the real lore. edit: Nevermind I finished the video sorry
Something I've always wondered: what happened to the soldiers at Anchorage after the bombs fell and soldiers stationed elsewhere? What happened to them ? I havnt seen anything yet about certain places like Hawaii and the military bases there for example.
Alaska had a vault made for vets and it was a control vault so no experimentation. If anyone I assume it would be like Far Harbor but with more of a raider presence, and mercs probably everywhere. Whats also likely is the Enclave have a extremely strong presence there with it being the last place on Earth with oil.
@@orion3740 There would also likely be vast stockpiles of weapons that both the Chinese and American forces used, so it would be a firearm paradise out there. Plus the amount of potential unexploded ordnance, mines and other explosives being covered in snow all the time would make traversing the place a danger in its own right.
I wish Bethesda would make a pre-war version of fallout and you can live the lives of the pre-war america or make a Fallout game purely based on the resource wars, etc.
It's Sam Hussey It is a real possibility. At least that is my own head cannon for Nate. Would explain why his family was automatically authorized to enter the vault too.
Yeah but if you remember, before the war he was a soldier, that’s why he qualified. Everyone would’ve been qualified if it was because of their grandfathers in WW2
Great video! 9:30 is why my FO4 Survival character has max agility+strength. I roleplay as a "Sergeant Rock" who has a heart, but also a hard-charging, no nonsense attitude. Having high perception, charisma, and intelligence gives me the full spec ops experience (but I guess high Luck is necessary too).
My question to the Outcasts would be, "what's the point of preserving technology if there are no Wastelanders left to enjoy/utilise it"? That's why I support the other faction.
They could and do. The better question would be, what’s the point if all they need to destroy each other is the will to? (And possibly chems). We see it everytime, with raiders, especially like the fiends’ gang. Sometimes even factions like the NCR on helios or even the brotherhood… it won’t matter they don’t use it for that. Some of those things they don’t or can’t disarm, so they remain a hazard someone really sneaky and evil can exploit. The brotherhood means well, but their means of executing their one “mission” is just horrible .-. except for Lyons… maybe…his wasn’t so bad.
I don't even think that a nuclear summer is even possible. A nuclear winter is called a winter because the dust and ash from the detonations accumulates in the atmosphere and blocks out the sun which cools the planet.
@@bandrukesucks depends. If the voltage of the EMP entering an electrical circuit is too much for the circuit to handle, it may end up "frying" the circuit. Same idea as a burned out light bulb. If the voltage entering the circuit is not high enough to ruin it, the random electrical pulses going to random locations of the circuit at unwanted times is what causes the circuit to screw up.
Just some facts the mountain range you “drop on” is most likely the chugiak mountains. And at 21:00 the usaf actually put Nike missle sites which protect the Anchorage area from nuclear threats and chugach is pronounced (chu-ge-ack)
Great video but a few things you missed One of you have the lady killer perk and use it in Olin she realizes she’s been rude and becomes much more patient and kind to you and explains why she’s so upset and promises she won’t take it out on you again Two if you tell protector macgraw that you’re a mercenary he realizes how you made it this far and respects you more for you supposed combat abilities and your upfront truthfulness about it And three when you find the Gary clone dead one the floor you will also find a pair of bloody brass knuckles nearby. What happened was they found Gary with a pipboy and took him down to the simulation and tried to get him to use it and realized he was insane only able to say his name and completely hostile. Eventually an outcast beat him to death with the brass knuckles and Olin ordered the pipboy cut off his wrist due to the pipboy 3000 having a biometric lock only Gary could’ve took off to try and see if she could get it on a outcast and run the simulation that way. Obviously it didn’t work presumably it was damaged or broken since the Gary clones wouldn’t even know how to use it anyway and probably neglected it. That’s why sibley makes the comment about hopefully things work better with you than with the last guy cause the last guy was Gary and that’s why she tells him off and says “you know that wasn’t my fault” and she’s right it wasn’t. Gary was insane and attacking anyone and everyone around him who wants a Gary clone and if he even made it into the sim he wouldn’t probably tried to kill his comrades and died in the sim anyway
It's indestructible bcs of a bug, it was never meant to be indestructable nor is it, it actually has a shit ton of hp... The version given after completing the Anchorage Reclamation simulation is the "sim" version, rather than the intended "wasteland" version. Among other issues, the "sim" version has abnormally high health-close to 10 million hit points-and as a result will likely never become noticeably damaged. The armor can only be repaired by merchants.
I remember that I didn't play fallout 3 very much for some odd reason, but this was my favorite mission. I was really young then and I remember that the only thing g I took was the shock sword at the end, cause I had to "let the brotherhood have their share of the loot."
There is a way to stockpile ammo in the simulation. Just drop all the ammo in your inventory and use the ammo dispenser again. Do this over and over and you can have a ton of ammo to pick back up.
Ian Allen You put the corpse of Gary at your feet in the pod before entering the simulation and for a split second have a window to transfer all of your invincible items from the simulation into the real world once you beat Jingwei.
It allows you to keep all the items you obtained during the simulation. The Power Armor troops also carry 100% repaired Fat Man launchers. Coupled with the ammo cheat, the Gary cheat can be a good glitch for console users.
Luke Price Well in fairness General Chase did help make the Simulation and it was not finished before the bombs fell. Maybe they where planning on adding more to it. After all Bethesda has a habit of changing the story once and awhile.
Luke Price I think that maybe then (when the simulation takes place) they were still using the are 12s or 14s which were EXTREMELY delicate to extreme weather like in anchorage so they would break easily or not even work
The conversation from defender Maril is actually different IF you are wearing power armor when you meet this group of outcasts the first time. Actually friendly if wearing outcast armor, more hostile if any other. And there is an interesting way to get as much ammo as you want for MOST weapons. Drop all of you ammo. Use the restocking station. Collect the dropped ammo, rinse and repeat until satisfied.
I can't help but think those pip boys have to have been designed to be removed I mean that thing strapped on your wrist permanently could do alot of harm
Laughingpug In Fallout 4, you first get the Pip-Boy off of the long-dead Vault 111 doctor and we see that it has a latch on the back that is normally unseen.
The version of Pip-Boy found in 3 and NV was built with a biometric lock, a feature removed in favour of a simple latching mechanism on the version found in 4. I can only assume that is because the biometric lock proved unnecessary and was thereby a waste of resources.
In the Outcasts' defense, Gary 23 probably wasn't murdered for his Pip-Boy, but he was a _skrub_ who didn't _git gud_ enough and got _rekt_ in the simulation (remember how people entered into cardiac arrest if they got killed in it). The outcasts then removed the Pip-Boy from his weak dead ass and put it on a true _Chad_ who could actually pull the simulation off, but unfortunately they couldn't make it work on him.
there is an audio log that was cut from the game that pretty much confirms he was murdered. here is the transcript: - Gary? /Developers' comments: typical 'gary clone' voice/ - Listen, son, I know Morrill was rough on you. I'm sorry, I really am - /Developers' comments: Military Interrogator playing "good cop"/ - Gary? Gary? - Right. You can drop the act, now. I'm not here to hurt you. /Developers' comments: "Good Cop" Losing his patience/ - Gary? - Look, just remove the PIP-Boy and we can part ways. /Developers' comments: "Good cop" continues to lose patience/ - Gary? GARY! - You know what? Fuck this. Hand me that saw - and turn off the recorder. /Developers' comments: "Good Cop" drops patience and gets violent/ - Gaaaaaaary.... /in actual recording there is a heavy cry with auto-saw and meaty sounds/then death from loss of too much blood/body fell on the floor
There are probably two possibilities. First, Gary 23 is a clone and the ones from 108 have been shown to be hostile to non-clones. The brotherhood may have killed him if he attacked them, then removed the Pip-Boy. Or, Gary 23 was tortured and died when they tried to remove the Pip-boy. This may mean that the Garys aren't always hostile to non-clones. There may be circumstances where they aren't violent and therefore his death was pretty sad.
Or you can play on PC and use the in-game console to instantly level your character if that's what pleases you. player.advlevel = Advance one level at a time.
I played for so long that I forgot o had limited health and ammo........I also had a combat shot gun and the defecters didn't have helmets.........yeah
I mean sure it's coincidence but Anchorage is also a geographic midpoint between Washington and Beijing so it's not like it was some foreshadowing of fallout.
Theres a gary glitch you can do to get all the items. Not sure if its patched but it should still work. If youre on PC just make sure you dont have any unofficial patch stuff installed when trying to do it cuz they might of fixed it.
player.additem XXXXXXXXX 1 Here are the codes for the armor - fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Winterized_combat_armor Easy. Don't even need mods. The "wasteland" version is just a reskin of basic green combat armor. Repair use other combat armor variants. This particular action would not really be a cheat that gives you an advantage. The "sim" version would be a cheat with the high item health.

The captured soldier in the trenches near the end can be easily explained I believe. Though the Chinese don't take prisoners, this means the long term, POW camp type capture. The tied up soldiers were probably just recently captured and awaiting battlefield interrogation before execution
Hey I don't think anybody knew this but if you wear Outcast power armor before you help the outcasts they think you're one of their soldiers
That explains why mine was different lol
I'm glad somebody thought said this.

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
Which you can have randomly or on demand with FO3 Project Reality.
Yes it does
I don't even think that a nuclear summer is even possible. A nuclear winter is called a winter because the dust and ash from the detonations accumulates in the atmosphere and blocks out the sun which cools the planet.
I think it is the constant effects of the EMP field that shuts down the power armor not just one blast.
yes. EMP needs not only be constant, but consistent to the electronics involved. "fried" circuits is Hollywood science.

One of you have the lady killer perk and use it in Olin she realizes she’s been rude and becomes much more patient and kind to you and explains why she’s so upset and promises she won’t take it out on you again
Two if you tell protector macgraw that you’re a mercenary he realizes how you made it this far and respects you more for you supposed combat abilities and your upfront truthfulness about it
And three when you find the Gary clone dead one the floor you will also find a pair of bloody brass knuckles nearby.

Yes, It really is indestructible. It thinks it's apart of the Sim program, so it has a shit ton of health, so It barely ever takes damage.
I did the gary 23 glitch, so I had that armor in tandem with infinite health Chinese AK's.

Did that a lot on Xbox alongside the Gary glitch but it's kinda pointless on PC since you can just console command the weapons and ammo.
Oh my god, I remember the Gary glitch, such memories of playing Fallout on console like a scrub.
whats the gary glitch?
Ian Allen You put the corpse of Gary at your feet in the pod before entering the simulation and for a split second have a window to transfer all of your invincible items from the simulation into the real world once you beat Jingwei.
It allows you to keep all the items you obtained during the simulation. The Power Armor troops also carry 100% repaired Fat Man launchers. Coupled with the ammo cheat, the Gary cheat can be a good glitch for console users.
I accidentally started this mission at a very low level the first time I played and couldn't get past the super mutant part

In Fallout 4, you first get the Pip-Boy off of the long-dead Vault 111 doctor and we see that it has a latch on the back that is normally unseen.
I think in fo4 it is a newer model
so they are both from vaults, how much newer can they be,they can't, so it all went from IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE to just opening the flimsy metal latch
youtube on lsd there's different models of the pip boy. The pip boy 2000 was a handheld device
The version of Pip-Boy found in 3 and NV was built with a biometric lock, a feature removed in favour of a simple latching mechanism on the version found in 4. I can only assume that is because the biometric lock proved unnecessary and was thereby a waste of resources.
14:59 He's worried if-*St. Jude ad plays*
