THANK YOU! Finally one of these covers on a Ram. 90% are on Fords. I’ve been looking for 1 Ram video because the bed reinforcement beam is much more pronounced on Ram vs Fords and GM. Barricade makes a clone of the revolver but labels Ford covers as Ram covers. After 2 covers both same issue I decided on Bak. Oh as a courtesy I notified Barricade Off-Road of this they replied as I was stupid. I told them can’t change geometry and the Pythagorean theorem makes the rails to long on a Ram. They replied it’s a simple clamp on installation. Even after showing pictures and video that it won’t fit without major cutting.
Wow!!! You did a splendid job of explaining each step during the installation of the product. Just ordered the same tonneau cover for my ram warlock. Will use your directions as a roadmap for my installation.
Nice job, simple, clean, clear, to the point and just the right length. I ordered the same cover and wanted to see how others made out installing this beauty.
Last time I had a vinyl tonneau cover many years ago I found that Nu Vinyl was one of the best protective products. Each application lasted for 2-3 months rain or shine. Doesn’t give a super wet shiny appearance, it’s more subtle.
I just finished my installation the other day. These bed liners definitely need the sharp pointy edges on the bed rails at the tailgate end. They are very sharp. All you need is small fine files and just eemove the points and the flats sharp edge.
nice install....did you see a difference with using the thicker bulkhead seals? did you see that somewhere else? i also have a spray in from factory, and would have gone with the thinner one from the instructions. get my Rx4s next week, and maybe will go with the thicker also
With the thicker one it was more of a snug fit. The thinner one didn't really make a tight seal, In my case anyways. Go's down to perso al preferance. I'll be posting a 1.5 year update soon.
Just got one of these for my Chevy ZR2. Having some major complications I believe due to the trucks existing plastic rail covers. When you install make sure the rails are installed level or else the roll won’t fit and won’t operate correctly. I WISH my install were as easy as the one showed here.
Thanks for the input, man. Mine had the spray on bed liner so it was pretty slim. But you’re right. I imagine the thickness of the plastic will affect fitting. Hopefully you’ll be able to get sorted out with vendor/manufacturer. I ordered from real truck and they were very helpful with any concerns I had.
Looks like the front of the cover has the side rail seals too long and they don’t touch the bulkhead. Did these flatten out or curl up in the long run?
I just got mine. Only mine came with only rails and the cover, and misc. broken plastic pieces inside. RealTruck is sending a new one, but this is the second cover I ordered from them and the second time it didn't come with all mounting hardware.
Thanks for the feedback. I only applied it to the rubber portions on the edges and on black unpainted plastics on the truck like the mirrors. Should be fine on vinyl but I can’t testify to it.
good job on the video. was actually looking what would this look like on a 1500 Classic but nevertheless it is still helpful. one thing i may have missed, does the cover clear the front stake holes too, i may have missed that?
Thanks for taking the time to edit and upload this informative video; thumbs up from me ! I do have a question, how long do you think it would take to remove the center rolling section? I often load an atv in the bed of my truck and i'm pretty sure the rolled up part will effect the required clearance. I currently run a trifold 2.0 currently but this is not a flush mount and I am looking to move to a flush mount style.
Thanks for watching, much appreciated! At the very end of the tonneau cover at the beginning of the bed it is held down by only 4 screws. It’s taken me about 5 to 8 mins to roll up and unscrew. Now, re installing it takes a little longer because you have to align it but takes me about 15 to 20 mins to re install.
Don’t get me wrong I got one of those covers I really love that thing on my ram 2019 everything was great for the first 13 months until everything star fell apart And then we called the company to see if there was any warranty and they told us it’s because We leave on Fresno area and here gets really hot in summer can you guys Believe that
I have the same setup bed as your, spray bed On the left and right rails, before installing did you had to remove the rubber pad behind rails before installing clips.
After install I did have to move it a little more towards the tailgate because the gate wasn't pressing against the thick rubber seal on the end of the cover
Since you've had this cover for about 11 months now, how has it held up in the Florida sun. Do you still like it, has the vinyl cover warped or faded. Would you recommend this cover?
The vinyl has held up. Still looks great. The only con is I lost one of the end caps where the vinyl meets the tailgate on the left side. Tried to find a replacement cap but the company seems to not sell this plastic cap as of now.
Hi there I got it at realtruck.com price will differ from truck bed sizes. I don’t recall exactly home much I paid. But if you go the site you can put your truck info and you’ll see the price.
Yeah it did. I guess it wasn’t clipped properly during shipping. I clipped back in fairly easy and it has not come unclipped since, even under pressure washing.
@@kafepov7112 thanks very much for the quick reply. One more question, can these covers be fixed in variable openings ie half way. Seems they are fully open of closed. Thanks again

Great Truck! Nice, clear explanation of the install too. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Just ordered mine and your video will make the installation much easier, thanks!
Glad you found it helpful. Enjoy your new cover 👍🏻
My bak4 is great, no issues like the other models prior to this one. Great cover!
Excellent install video. I also liked the things you pointed out to be sure it’s installed correctly. Thank you. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Glad it was useful to you
Excellent video! Very thorough. Thank you!

Hey excellent tutorial video on the setup.
Nice choice on truck.
Excellent job.
Love this cover, just installed on a 2022 Ram 1500... WORKS GREAT!!

I agree with you there! Thank you for the tip!
Had mine about a month. I am enjoying it.
Same here. No regrets!
Good tip on the 303. Didn't think about that. Thank you for this video.
Yup, a little bit of it goes a long way. Glad I can help.

The 3/4 is for a spray in bed liner, the 1/4 if for the plastic bed liner or no bed liner.
I Installed this cover and wasn’t really thrilled with the quality and flimsy construction but it was very easy to install.

Good vide, very helpful! Have you applied the 303 UV protector to the vinyl cover portion of the top? If so did it leave streaks or blend nicely?
Thanks for the feedback. I only applied it to the rubber portions on the edges and on black unpainted plastics on the truck like the mirrors. Should be fine on vinyl but I can’t testify to it.

Just took mine through a car wash and quite a bit of water got in near the cab. Is this normal?

Nope. I left them on. They suggest you remove them for a drop in bed liner which is thicker.
Thank you for the info

Great …. Thank you
What truck are you putting it on? Maybe I missed it in the video but I don’t think so. Looks like some kind of Ram? Thanks!
Hi Omar, this went on a Ram 2500 Cummins crew cab 6’4” bed

@@kafepov7112it’s under warranty and they typically will just send you a replacement
How has it held up being in Florida? I’m in the Jacksonville area so hoping the one I just installed holds up pretty well
How are you liking your x4s cover? I’m about to install one ima few weeks when my new truck arrives. TIA
Ended up returning it and put on the Bakflip instead. Like it so far
@@ryanpenn1982 thanks. What was the issue
@@EPH113 we just couldn’t get it lined up and square. It was for my wife’s truck. We’ve been happy with the Bakflip MX4 though
@@ryanpenn1982 thanks and best of luck with the MX4. I’m trying to decide between the 2
Where did you get your cover? How much costing?

Is the top of the roll up vinyl? Yes use 303 on it and it works. I’ve got a 2014 vinyl tonneau and it looks new in TX sun out all day long.
Yes, the top is a vinyl.
That end cap on drivers side pop off?
Yeah it did. I guess it wasn’t clipped properly during shipping. I clipped back in fairly easy and it has not come unclipped since, even under pressure washing.
Anyone know how this covers work in the colder climates?
I have a friend in Georgia who owns one. Not the coldest climate but he’s had his for about 3 years and it’s been holding up fine.

@@davidgervais3893 my pleasure, thank you for watching. Unfortunately it is either fully open or fully closed. No in between options.
What spray in liner do you have?
It’s the one that comes already sprayed on the truck from factory.
