Hey, I was watching your video because I just ordered the revolver and I appreciate the detail you went into on the installation. Then I noticed from your footage you’re at the Virginia war museum. Thanks again for the video. It will hopefully make my install quick and painless.
Hey, thanks for watching. I’m glad it gave the kind of detail I was going for. It took me probably 2 times as long because I was recording but well worth it to me. Stay tuned for my repair video and my 4 month review. I love this area for its historic offerings. Enjoy your weekend, I’ve got a buddy who’s a reenactor he loves doing it.
Had mine about two years and it still works great! Love it paired with the Bak Box, great storage that folds against the bed if you need the space back to haul.
Glad to hear that and thanks for watching. I checked out the Bak Box and may have to buy me one. It looks pretty handy especially considering I was going to use a Milwaukee Packout box for my emergency gear. May have to switch gears.....
I have seen a couple of other videos where this little plastic tabs broke too. After watching multiple videos on tonneau cover this is the one I am going with for my '25 Silverado 2500. It will be a couple of more months so hopefully they have that plastic tab figured out. Thanks for the video! I subscribed to see some ridesAs I ride as well (Honda Rebel 1100T).

Make sure you use a coat of ceramic protective on it (every time you wash it). If not the vinyl will fade and warp if it is exposed to the elements for prolonged periods of time.

Hey excellent tutorial I’ve been researching covers for while . I like the roll up models. I’m looking at Truxedo brand with the material top second layer and Velcro sides. The BAK and Truxedo version of this model have different designs . I like it sits just slightly above rail to help with water flow and infiltration. Plus you can add additional accessories to the trucks bedrail. My neighbor has the Truxedo soft roll up 4 years old and still going strong. He’s constantly uses and abuses it.
Nice! There are definitely a ton of options out there and that's a good thing. If I had to do it over again I probably would still buy this one because it fits my needs quite a bit between looks and function. I hope the Truxedo works well for you and who knows, maybe I"ll buy a new one for the heck of it and comparison. Thanks for watching and commenting, stay tuned!
I installed this cover about a month ago and the only issue I had during installation was that the hand screws were really tight going on. I ended up using channel locks to tighten them down and chewed up the plastic a little bit in the process. Looks and functions as advertised, with very little water getting in after driving through rain
I had a similar experience with the hand screws. They were a little tighter then I would have expected but luckily I was able to still put them on by hand. Part of me wonders if they used tight tolerance hardware to prevent them from coming loose throughout use. Thanks for watching and enjoy your X4S!
Nice truck! I really like this bed cover. I have the revolver x3 on mines. The roll up function is great because it doesn’t block my rear window when it’s rolled up. It’s sturdy, but the metal that allows for that sturdiness gets hot in the summer. Damn near unbearable sometimes, but Im still satisfied with it 2 years later.
Right on, that’s what I heard about the older covers. Apparently this new version doesn’t have that issue because of the plastic covers but we’ll see how that plays out this summer. Come on summer!! Thanks for watching, keep an eye out for future videos!
Good video, right to the point. Looking at bed covers for my 2020 GMC Sierra. Haven't decided yet but this is probably my favorite of all. Thanks for sharing your install experience.
Just installed this cover on my 2023 silverado. I absolutely love it. I will say that those little plastic corners seem to be pretty common on falling off. I had watched a video and the guy actually super glued those corners on when he installed his cover. I did the same to mine and they've stayed on so far. Also, I did have mine ceramic coated. I would highly recommend it especially with your truck being black. It'll make it so much easier keeping it clean. Just stay out of the drive thru carwash.
Nice, thanks for the info. I’m your ceramic coat, what brand and type did you have installed? I’m not sure I want to super glue mine but I’ll see when I swap it out. The right one has stayed on really well so no concerns on that side at least. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!

Nice, I paid a shop to my paints coating but not the cover. I have an email out to Gyeon to see what they recommend. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon. Trust me, I"ll make a video about it when and if it happens.
Great video. I bought and installed my X4ST yesterday. 6/1/24. Super easy to install. Mine has the T slide I think it’s called for adding accessories. I have tie downs on mine. But will probably add the ladder racks at some point for the Kayak. The same side plastic trim peace on mine broke as well. It seems to be a common problem. A friend of mine owns a machine shop. I’m going to see if he can make one for each side out of aluminum. And then I’ll have them powder coated.
Nice video! I got mine a few weeks ago and it ended up being all warped for some reason and wouldn't sit flat. My drivers rail had all kinds of dings and marks on it too and the one corner was bent. They shipped me an entirely new cover when I sent pics and unfortunately it showed up today with both rails poking through the box and both ends damaged. I am super upset with the way these things are packed and shipped and I am hoping they can make it right because I really love how these covers lay flat. I had an X2 on my previous truck and it was flawless.
That’s unfortunate that your cover is getting beat up like that in transport. I would hope they make it right. They did by me with my defect. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!! Good luck and let me know how it goes.
I’m glad this has been good for you. I got one and it’s been a nightmare. It leaks so badly along the tailgate and I can’t get support from Bak, and they won’t take returns. It’s so disappointing.
Sorry to hear that. When I measure my covers performance I don't take water entry into account. There isn't a seal or similar intended to keep the water out. I think minimum water entry is acceptable for this style cover but it is personal preference and what your tolerance is for water entry. I don't keep anything in the back that I am concerned about water damage on with the exception of my golf clubs. My bed mat, check out the video :), elevates the items so they don't come into direct contact with moisture. I hope you find a way to make it work for you especially since you haven't heard back. Thanks for watching and commenting, stay tuned for more!
I have had my Revolver for more than 4 years. I started with the original X4 on a 2019 Silverado LTZ, but after about 2 years, the vinyl started to crack. They warranted it and sent a new one, which turned out to be the X4S. My corner piece broke also, and I super glued it the same as someone else mentioned earlier in the comments. When I traded the 2019 in on a 2023 High Country Duramax, I took it off the LTZ and put it on the HC. I really like that if needed, the entire bed is usable. I sometimes need that because I run hot shots with this truck and need my entire bed to haul the load. I have read that with the multi pro tailgate, the cover can be opened without opening the tailgate. Something can be inserted through the gap that is in the tailgate where that small section and the rest of the tailgate come together at the top and pull the release cable. My truck does not have the multipro tailgate.
Thanks for watching and providing this valuable feedback. I bought the X4S for similar reasons that you describe. It’s been great so far besides the broken piece and I even made a run this weekend with it rolled up and stored in the forward position. Well worth the money to me. Thanks again for watching and stay tuned.

I put the x4 on my 2022 GMC 1500 and after 2 years the vinyl shrunk and it had issues closing. I had purchased it with my GMC points and they are replacing it with the bak flip.
@@RobertGowell very interesting….I know they have been making changes to the X4S to make it more user friendly but I’m not sure if they changed the vinyl. I recently purchased some Chemical Guys vinyl cleaner and protectant to apply to help preserve it. I wanted to add some ceramic coating to it but couldn’t find anything recommended for vinyl. This looks like a great cover. I've been planning to buy a smooth, black Diamondback HD bedcover when I buy my new F150 in 2025, but am a bit concerned about that fixed center piece. This BAK Revolver seems to solve that, and seems a great alternative to solve that fixed center piece issue but retain many other benefits. My main concern with this is as it is with most covers, water leakage. I'd welcome your thoughts on that. And specifically, am I imagining things, or is that wide flat piece that you first installed that runs all along both sides that the cover rolls onto and its rubber lays on as it is rolled closed, is that piece at a slight downward angle towards the outside, to assist water drainage away from the cover, or is it just flat? Thanks.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The main areas that allow water in are the front and rear truck bed areas. What I have found is the sides don't leak and the leakage sits in the four corners of the bed. From what I've heard, the only non-leaking units for the most part are hard caps and tonneaus but I could be wrong. I live in Virginia so not a crazy amount of rain like maybe Seattle or Florida. I'd recommend the cover for the versatility but I feel your pain in terms of making a decision. Again, thanks for watching and stay tuned for more!
Man, hate to hear that. I’m curious what kind of weather do you have where you live? Las Vegas was brutal on my cars, drying things out and damaging paint. Thanks for watching, stay tuned!
Anyone taken theirs in and out? I need to put in a sled deck in the winter. I'm curious if the weather stripping has to be redone each time it's put back in.
@@lancetrujillo3155 as it would have it, my weather stripping is peaking out from under my cover and I need to address it. My guess based on that is it will probably need to be replaced especially if it is exposed to the elements. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Unless you live in the more extreme southern temps, like Texas. I've had two Bakflip Revolvers, my neighbor has had two, and my brother in law has had one. On every single one, after 2-3 years in the Texas sun, the vinyl starts shrinking and failing around the edges. Unfortunately a well-documented issue with the Revolver series.
@@5thGenNativeTexan that’s painful. Thanks for watching and commenting. As it would have it I’m going to be applying a protectant in the next couple of days. I’m hoping it will extend the life of it. I wanted to ceramic coat it but couldn’t find one that said it was for vinyl. Thanks again!
Awesome 👏 what’s funny is I just installed my revolver Saturday and the same tab broke on my cover as well. Did you request the piece through warranty or where did you buy a replacement ?
Man, that’s wild. I requested replacements and they hooked me up. They must know it’s a weak point or issue. I didn’t have to twist their arm at all. They sent me one for each side. I’m gonna do the replacement soon and put it on video. Thanks for watching, stay tuned!!

How did you line up with the tailgate? with my rails all the way up to the front of the box and the cover as far back as I could go I had a 1/2" gap between the cover and tailgate. The Plastic piece that broke is a weak spot. Put a drop of silicone sealant between the two wedges and snap into place. I broke 5 of them before they told me about the silicone
Thanks for the tip on the covers. I’ll have a new video coming out that shows the replacement but will definitely keep the silicone in my mind. As far as the distances I would say mine is set back that half inch that you mentioned. I’ll take a picture tomorrow and let you see how mine is done. I’ll post it on UA-cam.
Hey, thanks for watching. I didn't add any lights under the cover, my version of the truck comes stock with lights in the bed. I think it's somewhat justified in the design. It took a lot of R & D I assume to make this work the way it does. For me it checks all the boxes, low profile almost an OEM look, rolls up when need and secure as one can expect for something like this. @@viewmysunset7100 I checked it out. It looks like a good cover but for my needs my X4S works for me. I think what I didn't like the most about that style is the loss of space in the front of the cab and how cumbersome it may be to remove. Thank goodness for a crap ton of options in tonneau covers.

We’ll see, thanks for watching and commenting, stay tuned for more!
I had this cover, looked nice when it was new, after 15 months, started peeling off the aluminum parts, than the vinyl started cracking on the top
Man, hate to hear that. I’m curious what kind of weather do you have where you live? Las Vegas was brutal on my cars, drying things out and damaging paint. Thanks for watching, stay tuned!
@@GeoRides114
I live in Las Vegas, but I have had other covers that this has not happened to
@@earlhuang2886 ah fair enough. Go Raiders!? I’m a huge Raiders fan.
Does the tailgate still function property with the cover on? ie: can release it with remote or button inside the truck?
I sure does. If I lost that function I would have tried to return it or sell it. The multi-flex also works with the cover on. Highly recommended!
@@GeoRides114 awesome. I’ll reach out to them via warranty. Thank you.
Will be on the lookout for the video update 🙏🏻
What’s the measurement from the back wall to the edge of the tones cover when rolled up. How much space is lost with it rolled up?
Happy to take a look. I’ll get it in the morning and post it on my Instagram with pictures and here in words. Thanks for watching and stay tuned.
Michael, I posted the photos on my Instagram, please head on over and check it out. I would appreciate it if you left a like. instagram.com/p/C83DGOAtzx8/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Thank you for the video, I like how is sits flush. Is this setup waterproof? Thank you
Thanks for watching. It allows minimal water in has been my experience. I would feel safe leaving my golf clubs in there no problem. Keep an eye out for my other videos! I appreciate it.
I’ll post it on UA-cam.
great video!! well made!
Thanks, I appreciate it. Stay tuned for more!!
Great video !!
Thanks, I appreciate you watching. Stay tuned for more!
Did you by chance put in lights for under the tonneau?
Hey, thanks for watching. I didn't add any lights under the cover, my version of the truck comes stock with lights in the bed. To be honest I haven't fully committed myself to figuring out how to make the lights work when I want to (I should probably get on that) but they do come on when I drop the tailgate remotely. Again, thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Great video! Thank you!
Thanks for watching, I’m going to do a repair video soon and my 4 month review. Stay tuned!!
Loved mine but my covers broke as well
@@patrickhamburg8113 yeah that sucks. From what I understand the newer model has the covers either screwed on or changed in configuration somehow. Great cover other than that to me. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay tuned for more!
Are you using any product to protect the soft material from the sun and elements?
Thanks for watching. I recently purchased Chemical Guys cleaner from Amazon that I am going to give a shot. Link - a.co/d/03knGcN1 I wanted to ceramic coat it but it didn't work out since I can't find one that is said to work with vinyl. Again thanks for watching and stay tuned for video on using this product.
Hello, it’ll be my first time installing the hard cover if i have to buy one, is it easy to install by myself?
@@milezna5302 I would say it is. The only hard part by myself was lifting it into place. Not so much that it’s heavy but it’s awkward to handle. The video takes you basically step by step, I can’t tell if you watched it or not. Also check out my follow up video where I give an initial review and install tips. I just bought a Black Chevy 3500 High Country longbed, please tell me after 3 months how do you like your tonneau cover. I have been think abaout getting one but can't decide on rollup like yours or retractable. Thank You, Robert
I really do like my cover. It’s versatile and does what I need from it. At the time of purchase I wasn’t willing to give up the front space for the retractable style, the roll up style is easily removable. That said I think the retractable has its place it just depends on your needs and budget. I will tell you after all this time there isn’t anything I dislike about the X4S. I appreciate you watching and stay tuned!
Thank you. makes sense
Do you want to get rid of stop start and cylinder deactivation without voiding your warranty. PULSAR LT. Check it out. I have it on my 6.2. Easy install plug and play. You can, if need be, return everything back to the factory settings very easily.
🤔
Geo hey bro Is your neighbor a Robinson by chance? Im born and raised from Carrollton VA.
Hey, not that I know of.
@@GeoRides114 all good. I have fam that lives in Hampton in a neighborhood very similar to yours, cul de sac and all. Found your channel while looking for a bed cover for my 1500 SLT. Saw that you ride motorcycles also as do I so I subscribed . Pretty cool channel . God Bless.
@@Ade-cd6wk Ah, fair enough. I appreciate it!! Take care!
Does it lock
Thanks for watching and commenting. It does not lock but does supply what I would call a moderate amount of security. Thieves would have a challenge getting into it but they could if they wanted to with some effort. I don’t keep much in my bed so I don’t worry about it too much.
How’s the security?
Glad you asked, I'm going to be putting out a follow up video this week that covers what I think about the security, stay tuned!!!
I just noticed you have a drop in bedliner, but you used the thicker tape. Was there a reason for that?
Thanks for watching, I have a spray-in bed liner versus a drop-in.
Thanks to those that watched this previously, I have posted a follow up video about the repair following the installation and I will be doing a full review in the coming weeks. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!! Check it out here - ua-cam.com/video/vFBwbW0DzfU/v-deo.html
These reviews are good n’ all but they really need to be two years after purchase 😬 for quality.
@@davida7284 fair enough, I’ll keep that in mind. I’m due to do a 6 month review and maybe again at a year. I appreciate you watching and commenting, stay tuned!
IDK, after watching the video. I don't think that cover works for me. Thanks for the info, though!
Makes sense. There are a lot of options out there. Hopefully you find the right one for you! Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Mine is 2 years old and it’s falling apart.
@@tjauction1 sorry to hear that. Can you describe some of the things that are wrong with it? I’d be curious to know what I (and others) can prevent if possible. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice cover, but what justifies the price. The CEO, CEF, are all Millionaires 😂.
I think it's somewhat justified in the design. It took a lot of R & D I assume to make this work the way it does. For me it checks all the boxes, low profile almost an OEM look, rolls up when need and secure as one can expect for something like this. I an understand why someone would say it's overpriced but I feel the price is justified and didn't get that sick to the stomach feeling of over paying. I appreciate the feedback and for you watching, thanks and stay tuned!!
Vinyl are you joking?? Roll up style??? That cover is straight garbage.
The vinyl part I can understand, what about the roll up do you not like?
@@GeoRides114 super inconvenient and you can’t lock that cover rolled half way up the bed. I have a Retrax One MX. Slide retractable that glides into its own can using a pop up handle. All aluminum cover that you can lock in place anywhere along the rail using the same pop handle. Maintenance free ball bearing slide mechanism.
@@viewmysunset7100 huh, I’ll take a look at it. Maybe I’ll make a change. I’m curious if the cost is comparable but will definitely check it out.
@@GeoRides114 you may have a need for that extra 9 inches of lost space but I doubt it. Furthermore how do you plan on using the space a foot behind your cab window? It’s not easy to get to. You will see as that roll up situation with your style of cover becomes just a pain.
Overpriced
I would have preferred to pay less but I feel like it does everything I need so worth the money. If it came up short I would agree with you. Thank for watching and stay tuned for more!
That cover is not even close to being the best cover.
Fair enough, I will say it's the best for me right now and I think a lot of other people would agree. It fits my current needs, reasonably affordable and provides a look I like. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more.
What would be the best then???
