Are there laws that protect people from things like this.. I don't even drive and this makes me livid I will never have a trailer. These people worked their whole lives to buy these things it's not right. These days people don't care what's right and what's wrong they should start! Why should you have to hide?? Hopefully you have some sort of protection. I've been looking for a decent apartment since February and all I found that accepts Section 8 is slums worse than this maybe I should get off my ass and make another Channel like slumlord Central something about the homeless people hate homeless people but not all of them are on drugs. I've been so depressed after my son died. Every time I watch this it makes me so emotional people deserve better it all starts with they don't have any training probably these people putting together these things probably never did it before no wonder they're like this if they were professionals it wouldn't be like this something needs to change their who do they hire what kind of people work there?? Are they illegal aliens Maybe play the three dollars an hour what is it?? Well I hope you're safe Liz you are a hero too many people. I hope they investigated whoever was threatening you because it's b*******!! What happens when one of these trailers is going down the road and it falls apart and people die they will be coming up with money then won't they??
Not gonna happen. They ran the numbers. Making junk and barely fixing it makes them more money than making quality. It is the bottom line that matters. Nothing else.
Hi Liz. I am a former RV park owner. I had it for 20 years. During that time, I would have people come in with problems. Some were electrical. I mentioned this to my attorney and he advised me to HANDS OFF in helping RV'ers with those kinds of problems if it involved the inside of the coach/trailer. He said if I touched it I became responsible for any problems that might come up later. I wised up and would tell my people to call an RV repair person for the repair. Thank you for helping out these people that are getting stuck with those horrible piles of trash that are being sold now.
Thanks for advocating for all of us. Not only did the slide get stuck out and the generator not work. But the windshield wiper flew off and wrapped around the passenger mirror again during a rain storm. Once we stopped and put it back onto the windshield, only the passenger side worked. This is not safe. We had our grandkids with us and they were so nervous because it wasnt working. The inverter was tripping again and the table latch is now duct taped because it doesnt stay in position. I still say there is something electrical wrong with this rig. I just wish Rev would stand by their product.
These videos have scared us away from buying an RV. Even though I have many years of exp in various trades. I do not want to be dealing with a nightmare. I want to enjoy my RV.
This channel is awesome and so needed. The multibillion dollar industries need to be held accountable just like any other business. Thanks for all you're doing!
I was seriously considering a Heartland Cyclone, same color scheme and everything...until I watched this original video. I went from a strong possibility to a strong hell no! We need to get this channel at least another 100K subscribers which would basically put it at the same number as Matt's RV Reviews. I know that Matt has a lot of fans, but let's face it, he IS a salesman for General RV, which is a very sketchy dealership, and his biggest sponsor is Lippert, aka the "frame flex" company. This Liz Amazing channel is 10 times more important to consumers than Matt's Prime Pooping Position channel. Let's get Liz to the 250-300K subscriber mark so she will have at least as much sway and influence in the industry as an RV salesman like Matt. Let's all "Like, Comment & Share!" Keep it up Liz!👏
Excellent idea and information! I agree 💯%. These campers/RVs cost house money or more. There's absolutely no excuse for the garbage that many companies are churning out. It's all about GREED. Where are the federal oversight and consumer protection agencies?? I think we need to send Liz to DC for some hearings.
You can find a horror story for every brand of RV. The internet is a blessing and a curse. Just go look at them on the lot, talk to as many owners as you can, not just the disgruntled ones and make your own judgement call. Most people are happy with their purchase and they say nothing, but the angry ones make all the noise so you only hear them.
Liz, maybe you could start and head up an RV consumer protection group. With lists of lawyers that specialize in going after warranty issues. And then, maybe selling insurance to cover consumer RV lawsuit costs. Same as my USCCA concealed carry association coverage takes care of legal fees resulting from a shooting. The RV industry is so bad that we really need a consumer protection group for our financial safety. And sometimes our actual safety, too!
I did some work years ago for Vaughn Beals, the retired CEO of Harley-Davidson. He said when he and a group of investors bought the company in 1981, they assumed a company with the best reputation in the industry for the worst product. I asked him how they fixed it. He said it took ten years to identify each problem plaguing the company and fix them one by one. The task of restoring faith back in the American RV industry is not an enviable one but we need someone to step up.
Another powerful presentation. I just can’t believe these companies won’t step up to the plate until they are embarrassed enough to take care of shoddy workmanship.
We bought a 2018 GD RL230 28 ft 5th wheel used 2 years ago. We have had no problems. Knock on wood. Thanks Liz for helping so many people. Without someone with a big voice the OEM will not do anything. Time to change some state laws.
@@randylee2413have to disagree, we bought new, a 2022 337 GD, 2 1/2 years later, it have been great, only one minor problem that hubs fixed. It does disgust me the way the rv industry has treated their customers, but what goes around comes around as we are seeing. Thanks Liz for all your hard work.
Yep! And that's the difference between a highly regulated industry and an industry with very little regulation. The term "regulation" gets a bad name because big money business people tell people that it hurts industry. No, regulations are some of the only things that protect people from these vultures.
Great update summary. I was so looking forward to buying a small updated camper for wife and myself to celebrate our golden years, but yours and other videos have convinced me not to. We'll keep our old 1986 Coleman that is worn, but problem free.
That oldie but goodie might be the way to go. But not all new RVs are poor quality. It's mostly the ones out of Elkhart, Indiana. I did a recent video about GOOD rv companies, feel free to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/A-TDD8sSMt4/v-deo.html And thanks for watching.
Liz ,Thor is just garbage, and I've told them that a few times. I hired an inspector last year and he found 46 issues with the RV I was about to buy, and Thor called him a liar and told him get off their lot!
Camping world tried to sale me a Thor motorhome, I told them HEll No, NO WAY! Liz told me about Thor 2 years ago! Horrible company run run run from Thor! Thank u Liz you saved the Hill family
Don't go to a new RV dealer and pay ridiculous fees for sub par RVs! Buy from an individual who stores their RV undercover and has everything sorted out! I had good luck with Newmar and Monaco RVs from the pre 2008 period. Never had any issues other than routine maintenance! They were built like a Sherman Tank and the Freightliner chassis was excellent! I would get a class A over a 5th wheel. Both are big units to drive but the class A is built sturdier IMO. I like pre 2008 units and forget all the problematic electric issues with the whole system tied into a main box so when one thing breaks many other things don't work either! I have my phone, iPad, Bluetooth speaker and that's all I need.
Liz we thought you might like some good manufacturer news. We recently had a wiring issue with our Forest River FR3 30DS motorhome (purchased in December 2021). Without going into great detail - the wires were burnt. We contacted Forest River letting them know and asked for reimbursement of the repair cost. It took about a month-two for the reimbursement to be approved and a check received. Thank you to Forest River Ronald (Joe) Rutkowski for getting the reimbursement for us. Prior to this issue : When we had only had our motorhome for 6 months (August 2022) we went to Elkhart and while having an update installed a few other issues were found. We again notified Forest River. A week later all issues were corrected. We submitted records of the cost to us and received a reimbursement check with in weeks. We are happy with how Forest River has treated us and will continue to be Forest River owners. :)
Word is getting out about terrible built RV’s . Along with your help Liz ! Kudos to you . Only problem is I don’t think the industry cares about building a quality RV anymore ! Sad really!
Thank you as always 👋🙂. Ms. Liz you are my Hero. You get real resolution for both parties. Thank you again. The best of a person is their integrity and accountability. When I get the privilege of being an RV I would like to have an award given to you. You deserve recognition for all you do for others. ✌️😁
I haven't watched RV shows in a while after realizing the $ just isn't there being retired. This has been a real treat to watch. People have to be loud to make things happen. THANKS LIZ.
Great follow up!!! A heads up on California older RVs. This year good old Ca. decided that ALL diesel RVs made before 2011 had to meet some upgraded clean air crappola that applies to over the highway truckers. My RV is 25 years old a very well maintained and got stuck in this . The state is withholding the registration until we comply with this new law. And the morons in Sacramento wonder why folks are moving out of this beautiful state.
@@rygguy88888 right now we are thinking a Winnebago Ekko but haven't made a final decision yet. Currently we have a small Winnebago travel trailer 1808FBS. I make final decisions on RV purchases and it can take me 1 to 5 years of looking. I do a mountain of research and let the sales people know up front my opinion on most of the RV industry. Liz is correct.
I've owned 11 travel trailers, Forest River (Mostly Flagstaff and 1 Salem) have been the best trailers I have owned along with the best warranty. Same goes for my friend's coach (Forest River). Thor (Jayco or Junko) has been the worst experience, and I will never buy a Thor product ever again.
Liz your videos are a wealth of good information for the RVrs thank you for your hard work and dedication to solving this problem, your amazing Liz, stay safe out there!
Even when 40 years old, I've never known a school bus to have a roof leak. Why don't these manufacturers use a sturdy school bus chassis as the foundation? Then its only the add-ins that could be bad - bad stove, bad refrigerator etc. Years ago I converted a school bus to an RV, drove it cross-country a couple times then sold it. I never had any of the problems you talk about here, and I took it off-road across some very rutted dirt roads. The only RV option I did not have was a slide-out section. But then again it was my outdoors camper. I did not plan to just sit inside it all day long when I went camping.
Liz, I am glad to hear you’ve been successful in getting help for some of these folks. Great job. I’ve commented a number of times on your channel, and people are probably tired of my long winded comments. I don’t know why I’ve had better luck getting the factory to respond to my issues. While under warranty Winnebago offered to drive our class A gasser from Arizona to Iowa. We opted to drive and were happy with the service. 9 months ago , after the coach was out of warranty, Winnebago agreed to fix certain floor and water tank issues, if I got it to them. I’m retired, so I made an extended trip of it. Prior to this I owned a large Forest River class C. The body cracked at the slides, possibly my doing by overloading it. Forest River offered to repair it if I got it to Indiana. And it was 6 years old! Maybe I’m just lucky, but the BEST luck I’ve had was buying 2-4 year old used units. It seems most of the initial build issues were fixed. And my wife and I have owned six used and two new motorhomes over 38 years of RV’ing. My advice: buy used, but get an inspection! Thank you again.
Thanks for the update. That one gentleman was correct when he said YOU are the reason he had success. He is so correct. Just came back from a little trip with my self converted rig and happy to report the 2021 continues to be worry free. Guess I picked a good builder LOL. Oh wait I lied it does have a problem. It got dirty and needs a bath. Thanks again Miss Liz for helping all these people and who knows how many others that you will never hear from. Get an inspection folks.
Fingers crossed for Colt and Jamie. It was their story that got me addicted to this channel. I’d heard horror stories but their’s was just over the top.
the Greyhawk 29MV.. we have the Entegra Odyssey sister 29V. It is the most UNBELIEVABLE! floor plan with great shower, storage, drivability, etc - Great work Liz... Cheers! Tom Davis
You know Liz I guess I'm old fashion. If I paid $160,000 for a motorhome and found out because of factory design problems. My motorhome was falling apart . I would work to try to resolve the problem in everyway . Then they would have to put me in jail because this is a lot of money and you are not going to hide behind a pencil pushing degree paid person to tell me to kiss off . This company should be put out of business ! PERIOD ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Sorry but this make me so mad !
I am having a problem getting things fixed on my rv.It's been in for service with faulty factory sealant leaks for 3 months. You reach a point where you have written emails up to the ceo and keep getting sent back and forth from service to manufacturer. I dont know what else to do. 170,000
@@frobishful I'm so sorry for all the crap you all have been put through. You know I have a 2007 Class A motorhome . I have had it for over 2 years with very little issues whatsoever. I had a radiator leak the other day . I was told by RV place it being a side radiator they would try to keep it under $2,000 . I ordered a radiator leak detector from Amazon . Put it on and pumped it up to about 15 lbs pressure. I found on hose clamp that needed tightening . Something tells me if I had just took it in they would have had to keep it two to three days and it would have costed me over the $2,000. What do you say ?
Thank you for what you do. I am looking to live off the grid and live off real estate and your videos are my guide. (I am a new subscriber) 1st rule I've learned: NEVER buy from Thor or Rev Group. My life is on the line.
Great video Liz. Its a shame what some dealers do. It's criminal really because they know their problems are there and don't care. Thank you again Liz! Regards, Myk
Liz, you’re going to need a small staff to handle the hundreds of complaints from owners. Great job on helping others. This industry needs government oversight and strict regulation. I don’t see it happening anytime soon.
Great job Liz. Keep these videos coming. I also wanted to let you know that I bought a Brooklyn bed mattress for our 1995 Fleetwood Flair. Since my wife and I each have a single bed I just got one for me. It's a little bigger than the original bed, but we just had a 8 day trip from Ohio to Colorado and back. We did 8 states in 8 days. I slept ( Liz amazing) on that mattress. I love it. Thanks for the information. By the way (Liz Amazing ) is an industry term and is trademark ™️
The reason they refuse to replace RV's when it's obviously a lemon is because they worry that many others will demand they also get their defective RV replaced. The industry has been able to legally insulate themselves from civil lawsuits due to the contracts people are forced to sign. There really needs to be regulation to limit the use of these contracts which would force these manufactures to be responsible.
Just took delivery of a diesel pusher, and we put Thor solidly on our do not buy list. It’s just one unit, but I’m sure I am not the only one voting with my wallet.
For starters I just found this channel and haven't had a chance to watch some of the past videos. So we just bought an RV. Grey Wolf limited 29QB. Never owned a camper before so this is all new to me. Any advice or anything I need to know. It's kinda learn as I go although our neighbors in the campground have been helpful answering questions.
Yes. I did a recent video about GOOD rv companies, and mentioned both as well as another egg, feel free to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/A-TDD8sSMt4/v-deo.html And thanks for watching.
After seeing your video a on A RV Thor. Was looking at a $229.000. I said what these people went through canceling 7-8 reservations. I am glad I backed out. For buying Thanks so much LIZ. Excellent
Your such a great help for these people.....even though we put getting a camper on hole for a while....I really enjoy your content....I'm thinking your name pops up in these company's board of directors meetings.....keep up the great work you do.
Thanks Liz. I have been sharing your videos on twitter/x and other social media to help prevent anymore people from becoming victims. We all need to share these videos to get the word out there.
Thank you Liz. Im using your channel along with others to keep track of the industry . When im raady to buy ill be buying from the manufacturer that shows me they care. Thanks again Liz. Love your work.
Thanks Bruno! I hope you watched a recent video I did about GOOD rv companies, feel free to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/A-TDD8sSMt4/v-deo.html And thanks for watching.
Liz, I don't own a RV but I have thought about getting one watching your videos is helping me see which companies stand behind their products. I like a company that will stand behind their product. These companies need to know future buyers are watching and will make their choices according to what they see...
Hey Liz, thanks for another informative video and for all the help you're giving to the RV community. I have never heard of a 100% trouble free RV, have you? It just seems problems come with the territory. It's hard to believe the RV industry can't or won't get their act together. Again, thanks for all you're doing to shine a light on the RV industries shortcomings.
We had a Banner camper back in the 60’s and used it until the late 90’s. That thing was a tank. Never had an issue other than routine maintenance. We then bought a Terry TT and that thing was a nightmare. Traded that for a new Jayco JayFlight and during the first outing with it, a valve on the water heater sprung a leak and Saturated the cabinet bottoms. They fixed the leak but wouldn’t do anything about the cabinets saying that there was no damage. I wish I would have been more assertive but I trusted my dealer. The laminate on the bottoms are now peeling, but, it has been 8 years so maybe it is normal wear and tear. Aside from the initial leak, the camper has been flawless. If people stop buying, maybe quality will improve or enough people get lawyers involved… 🤷♂️
Love these videos! Word of caution, as you grow, be aware of getting people just trying to get their money back because of "Buyers Remorse" It happens a lot. Want to make sure that the people who are being featured are truly having issues, not cooking up problems because they regret spending a ton of money on a camper.
I've been reading for a couple years now tons of comments saying don't buy Thor anything because those that had any problems got no resolutions. Thors reputation hasn't changed. REV group sounds like another nightmare RV manufacturer. Thx for the updates. Your becoming an angel of help to many, n though some manufacturers not learning from their failed customer service your definitely blessing others with your help 👍🏼🍻
I sure hope Thor sees this video and straightens up. It's unbelievable to me that someone can spend $160,000+ and get treated so poorly. Thanks so much for your support!
@@diann546 🫢, i didn't think about that! but that explains why Lance campers have gone to 💩. Lance use to be well made, well designed. I too thought they were awesome many many years ago. Saw many at rv shows over the years. I started paying attention to their truck campers couple years ago n noticed the absolute 'fails' in their simple designs n build. N it explains how the comments went from raving about Lance anything to having lots of problems. What changed in Lance is the quality of their builds n the now minimal interior of their floor plans. Here's an example of one of lances truck campers, the bathroom, they install the wrong type of taps so the shower hose goes into the sink making the sink unusable, (but who cares right!) they installed the sewer hose compartment behind the awning arm so u have to extend the awning to get your sewer hose out n in 🙄, (like a drunk designer?) they installed the propane tank compartment so the tanks have to lie down n be stuffed in bottom first side by side 🤪. Extremely poor designing. It's like new designers came along n threw out all the old lance truck camper builds. N Lance build quality is super minimal to make it look spacious! Lol buyer beware. Lance anything is over priced too for what ya now get. But 🤔 what a coincidence Lance went 👎🏼 as REV took over. REV is certainly making themselves a great reputation eh lol! 🍻
We have a 40 year old caravan up at the farm. It’s been out in the open, under cover, windows original, rust here there and around, scruffy aluminium…….no dust, no water ingress, no bugs. Ever! These new RV manufacturers are hacks!
At least some are getting new or at least a buy back, I was planning on RV living for years when my kids move out but so many videos are showing how poorly built and looked after they are by the company that makes them. im starting to think about a truck camper and a cargo trailer for storage '' chairs , camp stove, winter cloths, extra food and water. ill be single when my last kid moves out and I drove for a living so life on the road again with not time limits this time is the plan ,
Not all RVs are poor quality, but mainly the ones out of Elkhart Indiana are these days. I did a recent video about GOOD rv companies, feel free to check it out: ua-cam.com/video/A-TDD8sSMt4/v-deo.html And thanks for watching.
Liz if the factory cut the main vehicle frame from the manufacturer of the chassis then take it to a DOT inspection site. Cutting the Frame is a absolute no, no. It must be done by a code welder not just any ole welder can fix it. Then it most be inspected by DOT after the repair. Back in the oil field we had more than frame extended. We learned the hard way on our first one and it cost us a lot of money. The main thing is you can not cut the frame without having a code welder to fix it. Good luck.
Our Thor four winds is in the shop for a broken slide. The entire kitchen has to be removed and rebuilt just to access the repair. Of course the warranty is only covering $2k and it’ll be at least $5k
Just for some positive side my JAYCO BAJA 18 FT Take it off road a lot behind my 2 door Rubicon no problems yet new in 2019 now its 2024 just lucky 🎉🎉🎉❤
Others have said that if you skip past their commercials they lose revenue. I have no way of knowing, but will watch a short commercial, but if I skip ahead more than a minute and it is still going, I just keep skipping until it is gone like this one. I watch UA-cam videos in place of TV for one reason... you guessed it, my time is valuable too ! I do watch fall and winter spots on TV, but pay a lot for UA-cam TV so I can record every game and start watching at halftime and skip every time out and commercial and finish it about the time it ends.
Hi Liz Im new to your content, can you recommend 2 companies and the models you would buy from them. On a side note, do you think it's a bigger problem since post COVID. Maybe inexperienced work force being used by companies post COVID.
Hello, Liz! I ran across your UA-cam channel today and watched several of your videos. In your videos you stress the need to get a repurchase inspection. I agree 100% with this advice but I think your advice could go even further. Even if a person didn't get a preinspection and three months down the road start having problems they should still get a inspection, then when they contact the dealer or factory they can also present a list of unknown problems that also need to be addressed. The inspector could also find small problems that could become major problems in the future. The dealers and factory aren't stupid. They get a lot of claims for the same problems and just hope they won't creep up until the rig is out of warranty so they can say, "so sad. Too bad." The people with the problems need to be vocal on social media. The squeaky wheel gers the grease. I commend you for the help you give them. In one video you asked how much you should charge for that service and I can't help you there but I do think you should get paid since you spend a lot of time and expenses. Your help is invaluable.

Hey RV manufacturers, just take care of your customers. Happy customers = more sales, it's not rocket science! Go Liz Go!
I know!!! It seems so obvious to me. Can't understand how the RV industry doesn't see this. Thanks for watching and for your support!
Exactly
Better yet, build a quality product.
Not gonna happen. They ran the numbers. Making junk and barely fixing it makes them more money than making quality. It is the bottom line that matters. Nothing else.
@@LizAmazing its because poor quality has not really impacted their bottom line.
Three buy backs in two months is commendable on your part Liz. However manufacturers should be ashamed considering there’s thousands of problem lemons
Agreed. Thanks for watching, Bob and for your support!
A lemon is supposed to be a one off. when there are so many problems with a manufacturer, it is no longer a lemon issue.
You are not just amazing but incredible. It’s great that you are willing to fight for folks who have been shafted by dealers and RV manufacturers.
We do indeed. Thanks for this!

Another powerful presentation. I just can’t believe these companies won’t step up to the plate until they are embarrassed enough to take care of shoddy workmanship.
I know it. Feel free to share this video, Terence. Really need to put the pressure on them!
These companies have little to no shame as they feel invincible.

If these horrible conditions happened to a passenger car, that make or model would be out of business!!!
Exactly! Sure hoping the RV industry wakes up. Thanks for watching, Edward.
Yep! And that's the difference between a highly regulated industry and an industry with very little regulation.

Those older RV's should be "grandfathered" but that would make too much common sense.
I wouldn't buy a Thor or Forest River product for anything.
I sure hope they wake up and do better. Thanks for watching, Mary.
I so agree. THOR and Forest River are junk in my opinion.

The way Thor handled this is horrible! I certainly won’t forget it.
Liz doing her thing shouldn't have to happen, these RV companies shouldn't require public embarrassment to respond to a customer. Thank you Liz
Im curious what is done with the damaged units if they end up in salvage,or are they “fixed up “ and re-sold? Scary to think.
They are repaired and re-sold. Another reason to always get an inspection.

Didn't REV buy out Lance?
@@diann546 yes.

Good luck.

On a side note, do you think it's a bigger problem since post COVID. Maybe inexperienced work force being used by companies post COVID.
Thank you for what you do you help a lot of people.
They get a lot of claims for the same problems and just hope they won't creep up until the rig is out of warranty so
they can say, "so sad. Too bad."
The people with the problems need to be vocal on social media. The squeaky wheel gers the grease. I commend you for the help you give them.
In one video you asked how much you should charge for that service and I can't help you there but I do think you should get paid since you spend a lot of time and expenses. Your help is invaluable.
