Being an Aussie girl I always love seeing countryside and woodlands over in the UK and other countries. Thankyou for letting us "go along" with you on your trips.
Thanks Lonnie, It is always nice to spend time in the woods even though it was damp cold and draughty. Spring is starting now and the birds are singing:)
At 81 It now takes me all my time to get out with my aerial and mast, and operate CW QRP Portable for a short time without my bike . Amazing Sandy many thanks .. your efforts much appreciated
Love it ..Good video.. I'm out in my Pomoly Hex Plus and Outbacker box stove, fishing chair, my old military issue Arctic bag and self inflating kip mat.... for March...raising funds and awareness for homeless veterans through the RBLI Tommy Club, Great Tommy Sleep out, have done a couple of nights under the DD tarp and getting the Hammock put next week. Thanks for sharing, lovecwatching your adventures👌👍🙏🥂
Thanks for sharing your time outdoors, the sheer effort behind all the camera placements to create the journey and camp is greatly appreciated, I need to get out myself at some point!!
Enjoyed the video you're certainly not put off by the colder weather. Your setup with the fire is brilliant and the candle lantern does give off a really nice cosy glow. Thanks for sharing your outdoor adventures with us it's always a pleasure to watch.
A few weeks ago I got made redundant so went out on my motorbike to get some fresh air to clear my head and got hit by a car, all on the same day. It was a country lane, and I was fortunately thrown clear from the bike across into the hedges. I can actually remember laying on the ground thinking today hasn’t gone as planned, but laying there staring up at the sky, without having anything else to do but wait for the ambulance, I got to thinking that this must be what wild camping feels like. Aside from being a bit battered, It was actually quite comfy laying on soft ground, and all wrapped up. When I can afford a new bike I might even bust open the tent I bought 7 years ago and never used, and take it on a wild camp. You are so inspirational Sandy, thanks for all your wonderful uploads. It keeps us all going when the chips are down. Very much appreciated. Rich.
Love the solo camp and you captured some glorious birdsong. Completely agree, hurry up Spring! I've only managed one camp myself this year with how crap the weather has been. Thanks so much for taking us along.
Nobody could accuse you of being a fairweather camper, Sandy. There's defiinitely a stark beauty to to the woodland in winter, but with that northely wind whipping through, it makes life a bit more challenging. Thanks for posting. I know it takes a lot of work to put these videos together.
Hi Steve, It's all good fun, I enjoy the whole process of filming and editing and then I also get to camp, so whats not to like. The panniers are really coming in handy now:)
Cannot tell you how much I enjoy your videos ,you bring the outdoors in. For some one who does not get out much thru terminal illness makes a difference.
Very convenient for you to get away in the quiet woods and only be a short distance from home. The wood stove, tent, candle light and your cooking make a nice winter camp. Thank you.
Always, always a pleasure Sandy, thank you. Nice to hear the Woodpecker just as you were leaving, definitely a sign spring is just around the corner 👍 ATVB from me in deepest Dorset 👍
Excellent camping there. Can’t get over the lack of front gardens there at the start. All paved driveways 😄. Makes you wonder why they moved out of the cities in the first place.
Hi Terry, I feel the Doctors medications can do more harm than good sometimes. A good diet, not drinking so much alcohol and lowering stress levels are the way to go. Also take some vit D it's good and we all need it especially in the Winter

Hi Sandy, like me you can’t wait for Spring & some sun on our backs,it’s seemed like a long haul this Winter, you tube & your videos especially have kept me upbeat,I’m off out today for a bike ride & some fresh air myself, atb Colin P 👍.
Welldone Colin, I hope you enjoy your bike ride. I have just taken delivery of a couple of new ebikes, They were sent to me for free to make video's on. I am really surprised just how good they are, but for a multi day adventure I would still choose human pedal power:)
Love watching your videos. You obviously put a lot of time and effort into them. Still can't believe you got all that gear on your bike. Especially the flue! God bless you.
As always Sandy I find your trips enjoyable to watch and relaxing. I like to eat Idahoan potatoes too out in the woods. I throw in various veggies....peas, carrots, onion, broccoli and beef or chicken if I have it but I find it best with chunks of cheese. The best part is that the leftovers are great for breakfast warmed up in a frying pan with lots of butter. To solve the draft around the base of the tent you could sew a couple of small panels around the base that you could put rocks or pieces of wood to hold the bottom down. You certainly would have some air coming into the tent to give good enough ventilation. Love the stove and candle lantern. Thanks and stay well!
I've got a plan to sort the tent Joe, a good friend of mine is going to add a snow skirt to it for me. As for breakfast, yes, Bubble and squeak comes to mind
Nice Vid Sandy, perhaps roll some of those long bits of tree near the Tent to act as a excluder at foot of the tent. A Guy of Your Talent could easily make up a Apron for the tent bottom, press Stud fittings ?. Both Dogs really missed you 👍
You have to really love camping to be out in those conditions but we all know that you do love every minute of it Sandy. You always put together a very functional setup when you go. Spring is just around the corner and plans are rolling around in our heads. I enjoy the anticipation and preparations almost as much as the actual camping I think. Your camping lamp collection is always very fascinating and enjoyable to behold my friend. Thanks for taking us along with you again and I will look forward to seeing you on the next one. Stay safe and stay healthy.
Thanks Terry I am always amazed at how bright a humble candle lantern can be once your eye's have become accustomed to the dark, there really is no need for anything brighter unless you want to read a book

Always admire you for getting out In whatever season. It seems to have been a long winter 🥶 so I’ll be pleased to see spring coming in. As always a lovely camp out
Yes Andy it does feel like a long cold Winter. Just been out for the morning dog walk and it feels like Spring is happening right now. The brids are singing, the early plants are putting on lots of growth, we are moving into a lovely New Spring right now:)
I very much enjoyed the video. I looked like a grand time no matter what the weather was. Have a great one and I will see you on the next adventure. Dwayne
Lovely relaxing vid Sandy. Always watch your content, and what a fantastic welcome home waiting for you. As somebody once said 'try locking your wife and your dog in the boot of your car on a freezing cold night, and in the morning when you let them out, see which one gives you the best welcome'.
Great video . The bird you referred to singing a two note song is a great tit . After that a Robin the the dominant bird with a repetitive set of phraases is a song thrush . As you are putting away the candle holder there’s a short waffle call like laughter - that’s a green woodpecker
Yes I knew the woodpecker but my hearing isn't so great these days Rob, I often don't hear the birdsong clearly until I come home and edit it and amplify it a bit

What a beautiful looking candle lantern! Looked like a lovely night away Sandy - your stove and tent worked a treat and great that you could carry them on your bike 😎Fab that you have such fine places to escape to so close to home!! 😉
Great Video Sandy; I feel a bit sad for the track cut through your permission woodland, We need to preserve wild woodlands. It Reminds Me of the Dire Straits Song, Telegraph Road.

Another enjoyable camp bro, hope your summer turns out better than our wet one and we are still getting rain it poured down last night. Was hoping with the wind going back to the default west last month we would get back to normal , well still getting rain. Safe travels.

Great video again Mr W, thank you. Your meals look amazing too, everything always tastes better when outdoors (food or drink), thanks again, thumbs up left for you.👌👍
The cold hard camps make the nicest camps twice as sweet. We had false spring here too. Went from best weather of the year to cold and grey.. Hoping it swings back the other way. Good things to come if we watch and wait.
Always love your videos, just such a lovely chilled woodland camp. I see you do the same as I do when you return home..greet the dogs first before the wife😂, case of who shouts loudest me thinks. 😉
I’m a big fan of this tent. Breezy yes but putting snow on the sides subsides this when the whites stuff falls. I’ve added a snow skirt which makes it work very well.
Really enjoyed this one buddy, that stove is some job might consider that for my own adventures. Congrats on the gear haul on the bike too, even at 6 miles you’ve a good bit of gear!
Awesome camp mate, your an inspiration to me, if you can go camping so can I😀 And I will after healing a bit more from my knee surgery. I’m 61and a bit over weight, but must get back out there. Cheers from Oklahoma.
Another inspiring overnight Sandy. Keep them coming please. I use the verbal equinox as my signal to start cycle camping for another Spring, so plan to get out next week. Useful looking tent, but my old bones couldn't cope with those draughts. Cheers from Spain.
If my feet get cold, it takes a very long time for me to stop shivering! If my feet are cold then I am cold! I love a good fire, and the stove is fantastic, especially as it is another way to cook, too!!! It's a shame the airflow gaps are taking away the heat 😢 The Spring Equinox or Vernal Equinox, is next week, Monday 20th March 2023 at 0924pm, where the dark and the light is equal. See you on the next one 👋
Really good to see you out in the woods for a camp again mate. Love the video, always keeps me entertained, and I can enjoy the relax with you, so cheers for that Sandy. Still my turn this weekend after madness of the week I'm hitting the wood for a couple of nights myself. Keep up the good work Sandy, love all the videos bud. Regards to one and all in the house of the Wiltshire Man. Moose.
Haa Thanks Richard, I actually quite enjoyed this camp apart from the cold draught, but then if it wasn't for the cold draught how would I appreciate the warmth:)
Great Video, I was in that same wood last week, the owner is a very good friend of mine. I was in a hammock though and wish i had a wood stove. Great stuff.
Hi, Karen/ Shane, I've been camping in these woods for years now, I didn't know of anyone else that camped there, I couldn't see any sign so you must have practiced Leave no trace too. The owner is James, just checking to see if that's the same person you know?
Yes thats him, known him for about 20 years, we rent a house in SM from him, ive only been there a few times, yes i practice LNT he did say you used the wood. He bought me one of your neck knives for my 40th a few years ago, its still going strong.

Awesome camp mate, your an inspiration to me, if you can go camping so can I😀 And I will after healing a bit more from my knee surgery. I’m 61and a bit over weight, but must get back out there. Cheers from Oklahoma.
Yes, You can do it, get out there as soon as your knee is fixed
Another inspiring overnight Sandy. Keep them coming please. I use the verbal equinox as my signal to start cycle camping for another Spring, so plan to get out next week. Useful looking tent, but my old bones couldn't cope with those draughts. Cheers from Spain.
I guess it is somewhat warmer during the Winter where you are Bill, over here in the UK this Winter has been a long, damp and cold one
If my feet get cold, it takes a very long time for me to stop shivering! If my feet are cold then I am cold!
I love a good fire, and the stove is fantastic, especially as it is another way to cook, too!!!
It's a shame the airflow gaps are taking away the heat 😢
The Spring Equinox or Vernal Equinox, is next week, Monday 20th March 2023 at 0924pm, where the dark and the light is equal.
See you on the next one 👋
Yes it can be unpleasant having cold feet but luckily I managed to warm mine up next to the wood stove
Moose.
Have a lovely camp in the woods Moose, there is nothing to beat it, I hope you get some warmer weather than I did though:)
I can't say why but that was one of your really good 'uns. 🙂
Haa Thanks Richard, I actually quite enjoyed this camp apart from the cold draught, but then if it wasn't for the cold draught how would I appreciate the warmth:)
Nice one, WM. I’m going camping first week of April. Hope I’m going to be warm enough!
Lovely stuff Sandy. What a pleasant wee camp. I like your lantern- very retro. Bike camping with style that was.
I think the chair made it stylish Mark:) Certainly made it more comfortable
@@karenshane3976 Ah Yes I remember James asking me if I could build a knife for one of his friends .Glad you are enjoying the knife and also the woodland :)
@@karenshane3976 Just spoken to Lorraine L who lives up the road from you at the Bungalow, she has a pony called Finbar. I've looked after him recently and I believe Karen was working opposite shifts in the evenings when Lorraine went to Scotland. It's a small world:)
@@WiltshireMan yes it is. I will be up the wood for a night in the first week of April practiciing a bit of bushcraft, i have a couple of ribeyes in the freezer if your interested
-11⁰ and a foot and half of snow here in Norway .. You make it look very "Spring'y"
