I've watched this video a few times now. The phrase "it's a hard life in the woods" I've said numerous times when I go out camping now. Thanks for this!
I think to many don't realize the efficiency of a kerosene lantern. It also provides a wonderful ambience to the dark night that the modern flashlights/torches don't give to the camping experience. My fondest memories are camping with my dad , who always carried a lantern into the woods. Thanks for the nice video, sandy.
Greetings from Northern California. For me two of the most relaxing sounds are rain on the roof and a cat purring. We are finally getting some rain now after a hot, fiery and smoky summer, it was awful. Anyway always interesting for me to see camping across the pond, thanks for the vid.
making it look so relaxed and easy at your camp with some nice warmth from the stove Sandy. So glad to see you out there. Don't know where all the wildlife goes and the birds too.
Made for great viewing bro, summer here yet getting mostly rain but getting 14c -17c overnight temps. Weatherman said we are getting our weather coming down from the tropics. Some areas are 10c above normal. Safe travels up your way
You create a very cosy camp Sandy. Are you familiar with the old firewood poem? Beech logs burn bright and clear If logs are kept for a year. Chestnut is only good they say If for long it's laid away. But Ash new or ash old Is fit for a queen with a crown of gold. Birch and fir logs burn fast Blaze up bright but do not last. Elmwood burns like a churchyard mould Even the flames are very cold. Poplar gives a bitter smoke Fills your eyes and makes you choke. Applewood will scent the room with an incense like perfume. Oaken logs if dry and old Keeps away the winter cold. But Ash wet or Ash dry A king shall warm his slippers by. Cheers.
Nothing wrong with using the lamp oil we have used Ronsinol lighter fluid for years in the Boundary Waters in Minnesota to start s fire. If you have it use it. Great video I just subscribed to your channel! Thanks and a blessed holiday season!
Brilliant, Sandy! What a way to live... Between you, Andy and Simon I find a way to escape from the stresses of life and unwind for a while. Thank you for sharing these adventures with us, I'm keen to get out and do some motorbike camping (if I ever get enough time off work!). Keep them coming and I'll keep watching. Cheers!
Great video sandy wasn't that beef Wellington and maid look nice that stove worked really well with your selection of wood food looked good mate atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Horace Kephart had spent a lot of time in what became the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I saw one of his tents and folding candle lantern in the Mountain Heritage Center museum once. It looked similar to your pyramid tent but of lighter material. He had been a librarian in St. Louis at the turn of the century I believe and left his wife and daughters to live in the woods. Probably a lot to that story.
Have been following your channels for many a year, forever inspired by your adventures and you as a wonderful human being, all the very best to you and your family for christmas i'll keep tuning in.
Another great outing/campout Sandy. you are definitely making good use of the new stove for sure. I love Stew, so you know my sentiments on your meal. Table was a neat asset also. thanks for taking me along. 73 Sandy. HP T CUDTL OM! de Ellis WA1RKS
Absolutely awesome video as always, Sandy... and that time-lapse night sky... that is just fantastic! I've watched that part over and over a few times! All the best! Paul
Enjoyed that very much. Dinner looked the business. Table is good but I thought oh bugger when you put the hot pan on it 😁👍. Excellent time lapse results. Keep them coming 😁👍
The wood stove is working perfectly Sandy, (and brilliant that you were able to locate so close to where you could resource the wood for it.) That probably won't happen often, but, when it does, take advantage of that opportunity I say. And that little folding table that you added to your kit is an absolutely spot on great idea. What better way to bring a flat surface along with you and keep things off of the ground and dry? It also probably weighs almost nothing. Thanks for sharing another fantastic adventure with us my good friend, see you on the next one.
Hi Sandy. Haven’t tuned in for ages but pleasantly surprised to see your film making and post production has gone from strength to strength. I have a hankering to go winter camping now. Best regards from the Rheintal in Switzerland.
Another great video! I noticed your Charlie Noble is listing a few degrees to port but no worries. I think you eat better in the woods than you do at home! LOL
Nice one Sandy, you certainly made that overnighter look easy. Seriously toying with the idea of getting an ironwall tent and one of those titanium stoves your sporting there. Seasons greetings, Steve
@@WiltshireMan That's encouraging thank you, How about the stove still not sure about the stove pipe construction, you made that look a doodle compared to the cut and snip Dave Canterbury version of cut and snip. The picture on the woods walker web site shows it all twisted and knarley, wondered if yours was as smooth as short pipe sections would be. Both are sitting in my wish list ready for the cart.
Great video Sandy . The time laps is superb, love the night sky and stars and then the cloud came in looked amazing , followed by the morning blue sky. Wow that stove! Superb. ..............Yes I have a lot of catching up to do with your videos!! Lots of us say how relaxing watching your stream is and I am zonked out Sandy !! As always , Brilliant ! Best wishes P & M x
Your food always gets me going looks so delicious, loving the stove bet its so toasty in there. The time lapse sequences and choice of music bloody amazing.
Hello Wiltshire Man, I am fairly new to your videos, I like the way you mix them with camping & food prep then go out on your motorbike & push bike. Spent bit time down in Warminster - Tidworth when I was in Army. Thanks for sharing. Dave B. Thailand.
Hi Sandy, really enjoyed the video again. Brilliant cooking and the night sky time lapse was amazing. I saw Orion go over and the clouds were awsome. I'm hoping to get a camp in before Winter Solstice.Your cooking looked fab. Have you tried wrapping sausages in foil with sprigs of herbs from the garden to keep them separate, i do burgers with chilli flakes sprinklef on like that also and have buns with cheese, mayo and reggae sauce ready. My Wasp knife is doing well. Best wishes, Jim in Shrivenham.
Thanks Cheryl, This was a really relaxing and cosy warm camp thanks to having the small stove, but just outside beyond the tent walls the air was an icy cold. It's so nice to be warm when out camping in Winter :)
Your style is so peaceful; creating the atmosphere of us the viewer being on the trip with you. Thank you for sharing the stories and your personal knowledge of things with us. Have a great day brother.

making it look so relaxed and easy at your camp with some nice warmth from the stove Sandy. So glad to see you out there. Don't know where all the wildlife goes and the birds too.
All the wildlife is all around Robert, It has the sense mostly to stay outside of our bubbles of perception
Delightful; one felt as if one were sharing the tent with a good friend. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it John
Great video Sandy. The timelapse was especially good. Good choice to camp on the edge of the wood.
Glad you enjoyed it Graham
