The lyrics of this song strike home with many guys in their teens and early 20’s. It’s about feeling awkward, out of place, like a loser, like a creep. The sad thing is that most young guys aren’t like this - they just feel that way until they can get some kind of self confidence. A lot of us have been there - felt it but are in a good place now. Such a timeless song
Some of us just turned 50 and still feel like a creep. Doesn't help when one of your closest female friends kindly reminds you that "no matter what you do, you'll creep out women, even if you don't talk to them. And when you think they're being friendly with you, women are just masking their discomfort with you." 30 years to build my identity and confidence only to have it shredded in an instant. Good times!
No, no one hit wonder. Radiohead is one of the biggest 90s, 00s bands, until today. They where part of the soundtrack on Romeo and Juliet Remake with the joung Leonardo di Caprio, Song was Exit music for a Film. Other great Songs are Karma Police, No surprises, paranoid Android, Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit (fade out). The change to more Electronic Jazzy music in the early 2000s, Kid A, Pyramid Song, Burn the witches. They do have deep impact to Indi and Alternative Rock music until today.
@@kokainhigh you really just call Radiohead a one hit wonder? xD ahahah, clearly do not branch out of your own comfort zone, or, youre an American, where most think only America exists.
Love how that guitar comes in like thunder! It's also a great driving song. And his vocals are incredible! Great range. I love how he belts it out. Your reaction was perfect. Karma Police is another good one.
One hit wonder. That is hilarious. Their catalogue is insane. The Bends is a masterpiece album, and you could argue the same for their follow up albums. One of the most loved and revered bands ever.
Radiohead are from England and their 1993 debut album 'Pablo honey' sold platinum on this hit single 'Creep'... They were initially a British version of Nirvana in the early 90's grunge/ alternative rock era... But Radiohead switched over to a more electronic-based sound and found even more success w/ the album 'OK Computer' in 1997. Formed in the 80's, Radiohead were: Thom Yorke (vocals/ guitar, keyboards), Ed O'Brien (guitar/ effects), Colin Greenwood (bass), Jonny Greenwood (guitar/ keyboards) and Philip Selway (drums)... They were signed in the UK in the early 90's and found success by 1993 w/ the album 'Pablo honey'... the single - 'Creep'... was followed by 'Stop whispering'... 'Anyone can play guitar'... Their 2nd album 'The Bends' in 1995 sold less because there was no single like 'Creep'... It sold gold (half million copies) in the US w/ the singles "High and dry"... 'Fake plastic trees'... It was Radiohead's 3rd album 'OK Computer' in 1997 that sold 2x platinum in the US w/ a new sound heavy on keyboards, beats and samples... the hit singles included - 'Paranoid android'... 'Karma police' ... 'No surprises'... Radiohead's 4th album 'Kid A' in 2000 went #1 in the US w/ a very abstract, electronic sound, followed by another hit record 'Anmesiac' in 2001... and 'Hail to the thief' in 2003. Radiohead has been successfully playing arenas in America and Europe in the 2000's w/ the albums - 'In Rainbows' (2007)... 'The king of limbs' (2011) and 'A Moon shaped pool' (2016) Some of Radiohead's newer songs include - 'There there' ... 'Lotus flower'... 'Go slowly'... 'The national anthem'... 'Pyramid song'...
I don't know about favorite Radiohead song, but their albums The Bends and OK Computer are two of the best albums I've heard. But here are a few songs: High and Dry Just Fake Plastic Trees Karma Police Paranoid Android No Surprises
Radio Head is so good. I literally just listened to their CD (yes I still have them) 'Ok Computer'. The live performance of this song is totally worth checking out too.
te amo thank you for the reaction and your growing collection of previous reactions it's cool that you're discovering new music & artists and having fun
You could do a deep dive into Radiohead songs and never come back from that rabbit hole. They are true, complex musicians. They incorporate piano, electronics, they’re straight up from the future in some of their songs.
I love the video for High and Dry because people are singing the lyrics -only to reflect their own lives, (which is what people do irl) I would also say Jigsaw is a great song as well as National Anthem (which Radiohead does a good version for SNL)
Prince covered "Creep" at Coachella. It's worth checking out. I'm from Minnesota. Let's get some Prince. Great reaction. They've all been great. Let's get some Prince.
Incredible depth to this band - somewhat at odds with how shallow I feel when watching you react. Loving that you're beginning to warm to some of the slower tunes - they can be more hard hitting than the fast ones sometimes
Few bands start out *this EPIC*--- and stay that way. Fun fact: those sudden guitar chunks? They just threw those in for the eff of it. :D They didn't want the song to be 'too commercial.' It was the Nineties... :)
Radiohead is an Institution among the rock culture. Since 1985 they have made more than 26 albums, sold millions of them. Won more awards that I can name (42) of them. So many great songs. Even in the Rock Hall of Fame. 2019. Listen to Lotus Flower original video. Even your mother would love.
Radiohead is fantastic, ALTHOUGH nothing else they did really sounds like this lol. This was their most popular “hit”, but they have a bunch of others like Karma Police, Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit (Fade Out), Exit Music (For a Film), How to Disappear Completely, and many more.
That thing you're reacting to is an aesthetic popularised in the early 90s by Nirvana, sometimes referred to as "quiet-LOUD-quiet". That is the extreme dynamic between a soft verse and an extremely loud and hard-hitting chorus, and making the transition as abrupt as possible. Pioneered in the 80s by The Pixies, who were a huge influence on Nirvana. Normally music is designed to flow, dynamics rising and falling organically, so the jarring effect of jumping directly between soft and quiet and loud and brutal was very effective back in the day. Would probably work just as well now if someone picked it up, although guitar-based music has taken a backseat.
You need more Radiohead in your life hahaha Fake Plastic Trees, don't know how you don't know Karma Police, No Surprises, Everything In It's Right Place, Paranoid Android. I love Nirvana too but Radiohead is in a whole other league hahaha
I think the version that you have heard is by Bad Wolves, it was going to be recorded with Delores but she passed right before the recording. Bad Wolves still recorded a version as a tribute to her and the original
The best cover of this song is done by Post Modern Jukebox, and while doesn't sound like this version instrumentally or vocally, it is such a good take, that some might even say it is as good as the original. PMJ brought in a female vocalist to do the song, it is in 50s era jazz/big band fashion and is worth the reaction to it. Good reaction to this version.
Disagree. Homeless Mustard and Social Repose i think both covered Creep better than Post Modern Jukebox. Although, the series Lucifer had their star Tom Ellis sing Creep while playing piano in an episode and I think it's hands down the best cover. Just search Lucifer Creep and ull find it.
Anything from Nirvana is also a great listen 🎧…start off with “Where Did You sleep Last Night” Unplugged….mind blowing …love your “energy” keep up the great Vibes 🎸❤️🙏🏻
This song has always been awesome and my favorite of all radio head tunes. Yes, it, came out in the 90s, during the time of Nirvana and grunge. So , technically this is considered grunge or alternative. At the time, Emo wasnt a coined term, but i can see where this was maybe a precursor to Emo.
Such a good song. Perfectly captures the teenage angst. Apparently the band got sick of the song, because it's by far their biggest hit, but not really typical of their sound. Used on reality singing contests a lot, but few people can really nail it.
Some alternative greatness, these guys are a genre all to themselves. They are an acquired taste for some but are always interesting and have great chops with advanced songwriting. Do the OK Computer album and vibe out. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶🔥
Yes, Radiohead and Nirvana share some similarities. You are not wrong. If you like this band, you should also check out the band called Muse! Muse came out in 1999 and, at the time, people compared them to Radiohead. Muse was similar but they soon differentiated themselves in the aggression and over-the-top musicianship they brought to their songs. Radiohead continued to develop also but in a different way --- they got into a more Pink Floyd-type of way. Muse got into more ARENA ROCK-level. They became a huge stadium band. Check out their song called "Stockholm Syndrome", live from Wembley Stadium 2007! That song will crush you! Muse is like a blend of Radiohead, U2, Metallica, Queen, and Rachmaninoff! Check them out! And watch LIVE versions of their songs! You will be amazed!
If you like the little guitar lick before the chorus, you should check out “Mayonnaise” - Smashing Pumpkins. Similar style with this sick feedback sound from the guitars.

Funny thing about this song is that its Radiohead disliked the song for many years. That JOOT JOOT JOOT sound by lead guitarist (jonny greenwood) was him trying to mess up the song and Thom Yorke refused to play the song live for years. On The Bends album, the song My Iron Lung is about how they felt about Creep and how that song made them feel. My fav song is Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit (Fade Out), Let Down and many others.
A crazy video of Radiohead is "No surprises" And yeah they are grunge, like Faith no more, Pearl jam too - recommend "Alive" Also recommend Pearl jam's singer Eddie Vedder - Society (Not grunge but damn good! there's also a live version with Eddie and Johnny Depp which is awesome)
