Fun fact: Thom Yorke has a neurological condition where sometimes his jaw locks up. So when you see him singing, you can sometimes catch him yawning or flexing his mouth to avoid it locking up!
This song came out when I was a freshman in college. I was a dork broken hearted over a girl and this just spoke to me. You can hear the pain in Thom’s voice.
Radiohead has live video recordings of a few of their albums. They are "From the Basement". They have incredible range. Some of the most beautiful ballads. of love and heartbreak. And some incredibly innovative rock songs. I won't mention any one in particular, because there are so many to choose. I hope you choose many.
One of the great bands. Highly suggest you listen to OK Computer and The Bends, my two faves from them, with OK Computer being my pick for best Album of the 90's and in my Top5 All-time.
Their biggest song is rarely played live now because they (or maybe just Thom) finds it too depressing apparently? I haven't seen them for many years,so I don't know for sure.
From what I remember, Creep was getting overplayed on MTV and at events so much that Thom got tired of it being the only song of theirs people were demanding to hear at their shows. It became a thorn in their side when performing the song felt commercialized and fake. It was removed from circulation of songs played live for years until the band decided to put it back in the setlist mix a couple times a year. Even now though, if Thom believes the performance is fake, he will stop mid song and move to the next song on the list.
BEST RADIOHEAD SONGS NEXT: If you love LIVE PERFORMANCE, Go with "Weird Fises: Live from the Basement" and "Nude: Live From the Basement" - If you prefer Studio first "Fake Plastic Trees" and "No Surprises" ...dozens and dozens and dozens of great recommendations. If you want a deep cut personal favorite, to me one of the most beautiful luscious sounding music ever made, check out"There, There" -Live from France: Thom and Jonny".
Hello Olavity, This song always breaks my heart. The singer (Thom Yorke) had drawn inspiration for “Creep” from an encounter he'd had with a girl he'd been stalking who unexpectedly attended one of Radiohead's performance. So, he felt like a creep, ashamed. He didn’t feel on the same level because he was born with a paralyzed left eye. Many stations didn’t give the song much air time due to considering it too depressing.
FYI - 5 of the 9 total Albums RADIOHEAD has released have been Listed in "The Rolling Stone: TOP 500 ALBUMS of All Time List"...they are 1 of just 10 total bands/artists to have made this accomplishment in history. It is 100% worth your time to get to know their music!!!
Good start to your Radiohead journey. You need to hear "Street Spirit", "High and Dry" and "Fake Plastic Trees" after this. Then you can move onto their more complex stuff.
you must react to the cover of this song by Post Modern Jukebox. You will never be the same. LOL. Just like Johnny Cash's cover of NIN-Hurt & Soundgarden's - Rusty Cage, the perspective of the song completely changes.
Great reaction to an iconic song!👏This song is on my list of all time top ten songs & has never left it for over 20 years. Not only is the music beautiful, but those lyrics, combined with Thom Yorke's voice - MASTERPIECE! Hence the reason it gets covered so much, but no-one can achieve the perfection of Radiohead's original - Thom wrote it & you can FEEL his raw emotion! PLEASE PLEASE react to Street Spirit (fade away): ua-cam.com/video/LCJblaUkkfc/v-deo.html - it is so memorising a haunting song 💗 Radiohead are an incredibly diverse band - they have created their 'own' unique genre - pure Genius
Honestly you're better off watching the official video version, It's in tune, slick and perfect, the best version for a first watch, if not on here then just so you experience the music and voice "not stoned" through good equipment. Thank you for your reactions, Mark
I would like to call this the slow version. I prefer the faster one. It's hard to tell them apart though but when you type Radiohead and creep, that's the first option I got, I really want you to hear that version. Maybe it sounds silly, but to me there is a big diffenrence, pleace check it out 🙏 You will know it when you find it!
One of the greatest bands of all times. Some other great Radiohead songs: Pyramid Song, Knives Out, 2+2=5, Nude, Paranoid Android, Jigsaw Falling Into Place (my favorite one!).
This song came out when I was 18 and trying to find my place in the world. I had broken up with my girlfriend of 2 years. Reason being, I felt we were too young to fall in love. I didn’t want her to miss out on life and living miss out on living her best years when you’re young. Sometimes I think I made a big mistake. She was so very special. I have thought of her very often and i hope she’s living her best life.
They are still together last I heard and this was the early 90s when this hit was their debut radio song, they were very "Indie" before then. This was their 1st hit. Through the 90s they gained more popularity and rivaled Wilco, and other indie bands for the last 25 years.
This was early Radiohead. They evolved so much. They have two of the greatest live performances I’ve ever seen. Paranoid Android on Jools Holland is phenomenal. It’s one of their best songs and is on OK Computer which is considered one of the greatest albums of all time. And anything (I would suggest Nude from their In Rainbows album) from their Live From the Basement sessions is ethereal. Best studio albums are probably OK Computer and In Rainbows. The Bends and Kid A are also great. Every album is very different.
I remember it, it was pretty great, but my favorite is definitely Haley Reinhart and postmodern jukebox doing creep. And Macy Gray does a pretty great version of it also.
You have some good content😮 not the best choice of rock and mostly not the hits so you are not getting the best of the best. My opinion don’t matter. But look for amt of views the vids have. This is not the video all have come to view or love. Until then i wont sub🤷

He was high on meth
cocaine?
Sadly, not true. At this time, he was heavy into dope. It's called dope jaw.
@@stevecummings1475 what kinda dope
I BELIVE this was during his coke phase. I could be wrong.
This song came out when I was a freshman in college. I was a dork broken hearted over a girl and this just spoke to me. You can hear the pain in Thom’s voice.
Saw them in 1996. Opened for Alanis Morrissette they were really good.
Qué envidia!!!
Listen to every album by this band starting with “the bends”…Jonny Greenwood is my hero
0:15 "I don't even know what type of music Radiohead play" - Don't worry about that, the more you hear from them, the less that will matter 😏
They play 'Radiohead' music. 🙂

A Great reaction, as always

This song, Creep was from Pablo Honey. Which was their first and my favorite album. Then the Bends their second album.

You should react to the cover of this song made by Paulina Villarreal from The Warning!!
I recomend you to hear "Fake Plastik Tree" it is a greate song!
Please keep going to the rock 🤘👍

If you start with the albums in release order, you will hear the evolution of Radiohead.
Radiohead-No Surprises(official video)
Next please react Radiohead-High&Dry
Best version of the song, you are so cute 🥰 as well ❤️🩹

😂Sure 😂
Try the song "Weird Fishes".

One of the greatest bands of all times. Some other great Radiohead songs: Pyramid Song, Knives Out, 2+2=5, Nude, Paranoid Android, Jigsaw Falling Into Place (my favorite one!).
Please react to Oasis- Don't go away
Paulina, the drummer from The Warning, did a cover of this song that I think you would like.
Love the song, but everytime I hear it I hear Beavis and Butthead arguing about it.
This song came out when I was 18 and trying to find my place in the world.

Listen to the studio/original release for a better voice....20 years ago.

Do the studio version, better
High as a kite.
You should look up American Idol, some years back, a finalist by the name of Jena Irene did this song and she was amazing.
So great that someone remembered Irene's version. She did a great job with song. ❤❤
I remember it, it was pretty great, but my favorite is definitely Haley Reinhart and postmodern jukebox doing creep. And Macy Gray does a pretty great version of it also.
@@kevinehle6637Did she get popular?
I'll check that out, but the best version I've heard BY FAR is by Brian Justin Crumb (Americas got talent)
Pau, the drummer from The Warning, did an amazing cover of this, just her and a piano, it’s pretty special. It’s on UA-cam somewhere.
No need to listen. the title makes me think it'd all about her...
easily one of their worst tracks
I agree. And that doesn't even mean that it's bad, as it would with other bands.
