I tried telling my mom her leukemia (CLL) was potentially caused by her 7 root canals she had had over the decades in 2011. For years I tried and tried, but she and everyone else in my family thought I was crazy. It wasn't until it was too late that she finally admitted I may have been right because her teeth were becoming painful and infected. She passed in 2020, but now my family members realize I may have been right and avoid endodontic therapy (root canals )

Even with no pain, you can have an infection that's leading to bone loss; it happened to me. If the RCT feels 'off' just get it scanned; maybe you can't save the tooth, but you can save the bone.

I’m going through this right now. The dentist I was seeing said it was periodontist but it only seems to be worsening in one area of my teeth and that’s where the root canal is. She didn’t deal with it though. I just kept getting cleanings. She knew about the infection too. I went to see a Biological Dentist and he said there’s an infection there. He asked me if that tooth has never felt right to me and it hasn’t. I’ve had root canals done on it since I was a child. At this point I just want it out. I believe it’s also contributing to my autoimmune issues.

Well now, this is TRUE. Root canals are toxic! I had 2 root canals 44 years ago. YES, 44 years ago I was 17. Bottom molars, 19&30 the only root canals. I have had chronic health issues. Blood tests are always perfect. Fatigue allergies, anxiety, recent rashes, and sudden shellfish allergies. Worse, debilitating muscle and joint paint. Knees, sacral joint, and stinging elbows the past year. They all say arthritis. No, it is always on the move if that makes sense. I told my husband the past year I feel as if my body is fighting something.
I get dental cleanings twice a year and last year due to COVID I only went in November. The new dentist (I moved) said the teeth under crowns are mushy. MUSHY? I went back a month later to have crowns removed and recrowned. She took off Number 1 crown, OMG it was filled with mercury, green, brown, black, gold, rotting!! Mind you, I had NO pain or taste. The dentist and periodontist could not believe how old the root canals are.
She looked at the other crown, the tooth under was half gone! The X-rays showed little white balls on the bottom of the roots.
Off to periodontist. He did the whole head X-ray. the decay had gotten close to the jaw bone. They both must come out. They came out this past week. I did bone grafts and collagen inside the pocket. The pain from the procedure has been off the charts even on meds and antibiotics and my probiotics. Today is day 3 after surgery. I am on the mend!!
The GREAT news.... My crippling joint and muscle pain are gone! I can bend my arms with little or no pain. The strange swollen balls on my ankles are gone! I feel lighter, I feel joy. The poison is out of my body.
Tomorrow I go for an ion foot bath to begin to remove residual mercury and toxins. Then a detox diet.
Listen to what Dr. Dana says!!! IT is TRUE. I am on the road to recovery.

Had a root canal done close to a decade ago. About a year ago I noticed an abcess forming on my gumline beneath the tooth i had the root canal on. It took me up until a couple weeks ago to get to dentist due to having trouble finding one that takes my insurance. They said yes, the root canal is infected. I have to make an appontment with endodontist so they can determine if they can perform another root canal to 'save' the tooth or if it needs to be extracted. I wish they would just extract the thing. Not all, but it seems most people i see online who have had root canals always end up with an issue with it afterward. Im worried about having to get the root canal redone, only to develop another infection down the road. So, just take care of your teeth best you can to avoid getting to the point of needing a root canal - cuz it seems majority of the time it causes nothing but problems.

Get it yanked out they will push you to retreat they are not your friends, its how they make money. Once a root canal failed it never work the 2nd time on a redo the bacteria is in the dead tooth along the outside of the dead root you cannot get rid of it only clean up the overspill. They use terms like 'save natural tooth' its dead there is nothing natural about leaving dead organic matter in your body it will leak bacteria, it will cause sickness, cancer huge consistent pressure on your immune system.

  • @ScottWConvid19

Dr. Westin A. Price was the scientist that invented the root canal procedure. After studying 3000 subjects, he wrote extensively about the dangers of harm that root canals have been observed to cause. Modern dental schools do not teach this and most dentists (as with any practice or profession) become very proud of their academic achievements. They get the mortar board, go through the druidic/freemson ceremony, walking across the platform, receiving their secret scroll and something happens to their character. They become so arrogant, prideful and calcified in their schooling that they will close their ears off to any information that might discredit their accreditation.
Who can find a dentist that educates themselves beyond their indoctrination?
How can one find such a dentist?

@Scott W. Weston Price did not invent the root canal procedure. The procedure has evolved greatly since. Confounding modern endodontic procedures with those from almost one hundred years ago is analogous to judging current procedures in neurosurgery by brain surgery from 100 years ago.

I've been in excruciating pain for 11months now. Went to the dentist, told me I need surgery to have my upper right very back tooth removed. The oral surgery = $4,000.00+ for one tooth. Couldn't afford it. Made an appointment w another dentist office, explained in detail everything &they said they could extract it. Just be 5wks bc of covud before they could get me in. So waited the 5wks in the worst pain of my life. Get to my apt finally&told right away that they don't do extractions for very back top....so here I am 11months later. On my 5th round of antibiotics (yes ik antibiotics are bad to take too often. I never take antibiotics usually &fear now it's become antibiotic resistant)on my 5th time of taking antibiotics &still excruciating) I can't afford to have surgery &now since this - I had a tooth chip! Never has that happened before. 4th back from the front, same side. & then also now my other side, bottom are hurting & top other side teeth are hurting. My lymphnodes are so swollen, the pain is in my ear, feels like someone is pushing a screwdriver in my ear&won't stop.,my lower jaw on both sides & inside my ear towards my face. I can't live like this anymore. Why can't I find a dentist who will just pull it/extract it for me?? I cry almost everyday. About every 5days, I'll finally get about 3-5days sometimes without pain or at least not too much pain. &then it's right back to excruciating. It's terrifying. Idk how I've lived like this for so long. I've had 2children& this pain is worse than labor. My whole life has deteriorated. I always feel so extremely guilty for not spending enough time w my kids&them having to hear "I'm in so much pain rn I'm sorry"& them seeing me cry, I try to go to the bathroom so no one can see me crying but sometimes I can't help it. They're missing out on their summer bc of me being in this debilitating pain. I can't do this anymore. ** oh& also before all of this started I had never even had a toothache in my life. Fun fact - my mother NEVER took me to a dentist , ever. I went to my 1st appointment when I was 27 to get 1 wisdom tooth removed. Now I'm 32&went for the appt I mentioned. I've always had nice straight, white teeth. I'm so depressed & desperate. I need help. I'm sorry as I'm sure this sounds like just complaining but I'm at my absolute breaking point.

I tell people, if you ever get a root canal go to a endodontic dentist who uses a microscope.
A microscope will show you if the canals split. A regular dentist does not use a microscope and if you do a root canal with a regular dentist it wont work if the canals split. An Xray or one of those magnifying glasses dentists use wont show if the canals split. If your canals split and you have a dentist do the root canal with out using a microscope, the Root canal will not be successful.
I can tell you, even my dentist admitted he wouldn't be able to do the root canal correctly if the canal's split. Dentists don't want to tell people this.
I only found out about this, cause this happened to a friend of mine, who got a root canal from a dentist who didn't use a microscope and the root canal failed.
He had to get another root canal from a endodontic dentist who uses a microscope. Then he had to get that same tooth re-crowned. So if you need a root canal, make sure you go to a endodontist.

I went to a dentist Who told me I needed a root canal in a lower back molar… So not knowing anything differently, I got the root canal done under some kind of anesthesia where I wasn’t even awake… After it was all over with, I was in such extreme pain for weeks and nothing helped and honestly I don’t even remember now why it stopped hurting… But my point is that after the root canal was done, the dentist actually was all excited saying oh my God I’ve never seen anything like that tooth I’ve never seen that kind of canal system… So it makes me think that he really botched it because of course there is no microscope and seven years later, my new dentist is telling me that I have a infection underneath that root canal and need to have the tooth pulled and I’ve been resisting that for a long time because I don’t feel any pain but now that I’ve been educated and informed I’m just mind blown

I went back the next day, he must not have cleaned out all of the root and nerve. He dug even deeper, I could feel the wire in my jaw, hurt like a MF! My jaw swelled up so bad, like to the point my skin was tight, red and painful. It was so awful! He even forgot to prescribe me painkillers and antibiotics. Idiot! I have lost faith in them. That's why, I am visiting a dentist in a different state, tomorrow. I hope he clears all my doubts and problems. So, don't take decisions in a hurry.
Anyway, to answer your question, here is my answer. I do NOT know for sure. I need scientific literature on the subject. I have to get it from somewhere, soon. All I have come to know from some random websites is the following.
Jawbone, upper or lower, can deteriorate if teeth are lost. Why ? Because both Osteoblasts and Osteoclasts are responsible for keeping Bone Structure intact. Osteoblasts regenerate bone while Osteoclasts destroy bone. A balance between the two exists throughout a person's life. Osteoblasts are stimulated while chewing. If the tooth is lost, then Osteoblasts will not be stimulated. So, Osteoclasts will do the job and slowly, slowly, eat away the bone. This is called bone loss.
Now, I am not sure about this. Please go through some scientific literature. Where to find ? Maybe just from a good university ? I have to speak to my University to get the most reliable source on the subject. Try to do the same.
If my point about Osteoblasts and Osteoclasts is right, then I think bone loss is inevitable, scientifically speaking.
The Implant, being a replacement, will result in Osteoblast stimulation again. So, maybe that will prevent bone loss. Again, read about it.

I am in the process of recovering from having an infected root canal (molar) extracted. These are the things that your dentist will likely not tell you but you need to know before agreeing to this procedure. All of these happened to me to some degree, and I only had my root canal for 6 years.
    1. A root canal can fail due to the challenge of removing all of the infection.
    2. When the nerve is removed from a tooth, the normal mechanism for detecting infection is gone. This means that future infection in a root canal can grow and spread undetected without natural pain signals. Early stages of an infection cannot be detected on an x-ray.
    3. A tooth with a root canal becomes increasingly brittle. If the tooth needs to be extracted in the future, the tooth is likely to fracture into pieces and present challenges during removal.
    4. An undetected infection from a root canal can spread to other teeth, bone, gums, tongue, cheeks, and face, and result in sepsis and even death.

I would not have to tell him root because I have a metal allergy but I understand from what I've read that zirconia root implant is inert as it is not porous and doesn't have miles of tubes inside it can't get infected like a root canal dead tooth as far as I understand

So you advise NOT doing a root canal to begin with? It basically just leaves a dead tooth in your mouth? What percent of root canal teeth eventually get lost? Makes no sense to spend thousands of $ (root canal + crown) just to lose it in the end several years later.
My dentist says I need RC. But I am not in pain (just a bit of sensitivity). Makes no sense for me to ruin my tooth when it's not causing a problem. I will wait until it is a bigger problem and then decide what to do. Right now, I imagine the RC could cause more issues than I have now. How long can I wait before doing something? I have had this sensitivity for over a year now - from the moment my dentist placed filling material (below gum line). In all this time the sensitivity has not gotten worse, though it has not gone away either. If it is not getting worse, what's the harm of leaving it be? At least the tooth is still getting nourished.

I got the tooth extracted about two months ago. It did end up seeping pus when I pressed at the gum line.
That is when I got scared and went fir consult at endodontist (for root canal). But he determined I had a Hole in the root and advised extraction.
The oral surgeon cleaned outcome infection, had me take antibiotics for five days post extraction, did bone graft with suture. It healed up quite well and NO pain at all. Worst part of the process was four jabs of novacane needle.
Don't wait until you can't sleep. If it STARTS to get worse, get a consult.

October 2022, had a sensitive tooth after having a filling done. I couldnt see a dentist for until January 2023 due to a pandemlc in town, so then i had an abscess. The dentist had me decide to have an extraction or a root canal, and I chose the latter.
Finally had the RCT last month. Thank god i had an endodontist do it I guess, but i still got a couple of issues...
First, the abscess is still there. It shrunk a little but its still concerning after reading the general info that its supposed to be gone within a few days when it's only been one month with little to no improvements.
Second, the past 5 days I've noticed the right side of my head had been aching a lil more than usual (before RCT, it'd only occur once a month at most). In the middle of a quiet night, i swear i could hear faint churning and feel throbbing in that same area.
Despite me telling them this today and asking if i should take some antibiotics, they said there's no need to, and suggest I give it some time. At least they're willing to do an x-ray in a couple of months i guess, but I'm thinking of asking if they should do the x-ray this week.

Dentists seem to be divided on this matter. My dentist gave me the option of a root canal or extraction. My back upper left molar is infected, causing immense pain. @TheNYgolfer Рік тому +3

Antibiotics are also killing the good bacteria in your gut. As he said, a tooth that has had a root canal done to it is a "dead" body part and it will only be a matter of time until you will develope a chronic infection. Pain is your warning now to get that tooth extracted before the infection spreads elsewhere in your body.
Also you are risking bone loss which can affect neighboring teeth.

Bro I've had root canals in basically all my molars at this point. As a kid I ate lots of sugar and soda and pretty much never brushed my teeth. As an adult I'm now super anal about taking care of my teeth, brush several times a day, always brush shortly after eating (but not immediately, cuz apparently that's bad), floss nearly every time I brush. I learned my lesson, but the damage was done, and adult-me has had to pay the price for kid-me's folly.
Literally. My cents insurance is bs, so we're talking like $1000 per root canal, another $1000 for each crown I needed, *another* $1000 to replace an old crown that came loose in my dinner and got swallowed...
Anyway, never had a problem with toxicity in any of my root canals. Not once. Honestly I've never even heard of that happening before now. Not saying it doesn't happen, just saying I've never heard of it. I had no idea this was a thing. But ya know what? I really don't care. I'm fine, my "dead teeth" are fine, and most importantly I can still *chew my food*
If I'd had every tooth that needed a root canal pulled instead, my ability to eat normal food would now be severely impaired. Ya know, since implants are even more expensive than root canals. There's no way I coulda done that. Just, no. Might have had to get *everything* pulled and got full dentures. In my 20s. And even then I wouldn't be able to comfortably eat certain things.
Yeah, I'll take the root canals, thanks.
Oh and you know what else? Kinda slightly off topic, but while I'm thinking about it, root canals are *not* painful if they do it right. Boring sometimes, you could be in that chair for like an hour, but not painful. In fact, the endodontic file actually feels pretty good imo. It reminds me of like scratching an itch. So satisfying
