This is the exact conversation I had with my dentist yesterday. Failed root canal after 16years. Also have been having low WBC count on my bloodwork for 3 years. I am hopeful the infection is the culprit and will be scheduling an extraction. Thank you for the great explanation.
Suffered with severe headaches, mri was negative, symptoms not TN or TMJ. Had #15 removed as it showed infection. Headaches have decreased. But #14, which i ha e had 2 root canal is still se dative when pressure is applied. Thinking that one needs to go also. Thank you for your info...much appreciated
So so thank you for putting this out to the world loud!!!we had our son onto dentist(young, arrogant and"i know better" type). during pandemic times it wasn't possible to see th dentists and although our son brushes his teeth 4 times a day( yes his own rule) he got a problem.we booked him in once it was possible but....they kept cancelling. Finally we said stop.he is a child need to be seen.first thing he says-root canal treatment. We said no,take the tooth out.he started to ask so we explained as you in the video.his answer was-did you study dentistry? No,was the answer. So he said I did.none the less we left ,found a new dentist and didn't go back to him.moral of the story-know what you're signing up for at the chair, research and question lots.the regular dentist is doing only what been taught at school and they don't like when you disagree. Find a holistic dentist if possible and educate yourself.
Wow, thanks so much for explaining this so well. I’ve had health and stamina issues for many years, which started about a year after a root canal. I have never made the connection until I watched this video.
What are options to ceramic implants? I’ve heard so many horror stories about problems with implants and dentists that deny any issues (similar to root canals). I want to get off the roller coaster and get back to healthy!
I feel it is so sad that this costs so much, the consultation alone is $400.00 then I got a estimate bill for almost $28,000. So your searching for a solution because you are tiered, because you feel something might be wrong and your regular Dentist finds nothing for over 5 years. Its hard enough to get the energy to work. your striving to eat healthy and you have been good at keeping up on what you thought was good oral hygiene, finding out that you probably did not absorb enough minerals during child bearing years and now after all the money you have payed in regular dental work you cannot even afford the amount that will supposedly fix the problem. Sleep well Dr. Michelle. I believe you have a gift and you have worked had to learn the knowledge to help others, however I cannot even imagine getting a medical loan with high interest that would take years to pay off? praying God will lead me to solutions
I was 48 healthy as a top of my life. I had a root canal done that caused me to have a severe MS attack. I never knew I was even subject to anything like MS. God brought a book to me through my son in the library one day by what seems like coincidence, but was really the hand of God. It was called the root canal the cover up talked about MS and root canals. I got it taken out the whole tooth. But it already done damage to me. God has done a lot of healing. But I would tell anyone not to have a root canal or an implant ever. And I think you so much as a dentist that you were telling people the truth I pray God bless you.
When you say “rebuild the bone” what do you mean? I was recommended cadaver bone since there’s a lot of decay. Although I’m not comfortable with that. What would you recommend?
If you get a cavity that far down do you just get it pulled and then get a implant done? Or do you still have to get it cleaned out as well even if you skipped the root canal that your dentist was going to do?
I just had Sepsis and was in hospital. It took them.a while to sort it , but it was only late I realised I had an infected tooth which according to m dentist needs a root canal, it had been infected ,so I had antibiotics a few months earlier, but am getting my tooth extracted, as I'm not taking any chances.
How quickly can the infection of a root canal tooth cause damage to one’s health? I got one last year and the crown on top of it fits poorly, so it continues to cause pain at the gum. I have a long dental plan and the last step is to get a new crown in a couple of years. I’m wondering if I should just get it pulled and get an implant at that time.
Great info. Thx Dr Michelle. I had a root canal on 6/17 & was prescribed a course of amoxicillin. I started feeling some dull pain over the next several days. Went back to dentist on 6/27 who suggested it may be my bite so she adjusted it. An xray & bone scan was taken, root canals looked clean, everything looked fine. I was experiencing more intense pain so I returned to my dentist on 7/9 -- she didn't want to take out the tooth prematurely and wanted to take a "wait and see approach." She prescribed the stronger Cipro antibiotics. I reminded my dentist I was taking Lyrica which was probably masking a lot of pain. As of today, 7/15, I am still feeling pain. At what point should it be declared a failed root canal? Now? I've had 3 failed root canals by this dentist's endodontist. Is it my immune system that is messed up or should I seek another dentist office? Also, I've read that Lyrica wreaks havoc on teeth/gums. Is this true?
also those high tech laser instruments now, that use pips/ sweeps technology is able to clean out those little tubules, not all dentists offer this but can you confirm that this procedure cleans out those little tubules like other endodontists and dentists are saying?
Hi, Is it okay to pull the tooth and not do an implant? I think is tooth # 14 top left. I was told I need an implant or a bridge or a surgery to pull back the gums to redo the root canal to take care of the abscess to save the tooth. What is the best option.
@@LivingwellwithDrMichelle Hi, I found out it’s a apicoectomy surgery through the gum that the Dr. wants to do to take care of the abscessed tooth. What are your thoughts on that procedure as opposed to pulling the tooth and doing an implant. Thank you so much for your thoughts and advice.

EXCELLENT Segment Dr. Michelle!!!
I’m a visual learner and seeing it in this way made so much more sense!! Thank you so very much! 🥰💐
Thank you!
Beautifully explained!
I so much appreciate you in the giving of your time to educate us! Thanks Dr. Michelle

I almost Died from a bad root canal.
Yes, me also
May I know what happened please? What were your symptoms

The 2 dentists on your website that are in my area don’t have CBCT. What are my options?
My root canal tooth has gone bad and will be removed next week. What a waste of money. 1,800.00 for root canal and now 127.00 to remove it.
I feel your pain. Same here and a brand new crown. I also just got a new night guard and I’ll need another one after an implant. 💰 💰 💰 😭

If it's an infection, can it be tested for using something other than the CT scan? A blood test perhaps?
Cone X-ray

I would just get it pulled. It’s annoying that these root canals have to hurt so much.

If you have a root canal removed do you need to have part of the jaw removed too? TIA
Do you know if most insurance covers cbct scan?
Would you recommend removing and replacing an i tooth? My dentist is suggesting a root canal as the only option bc of which tooth it is.
also those high tech laser instruments now, that use pips/ sweeps technology is able to clean out those little tubules, not all dentists offer this but can you confirm that this procedure cleans out those little tubules like other endodontists and dentists are saying?
there are still far too many tubules that are far too small to get to. There's no way to completely clean it all out.
So who can I go to to be seen for this?

Hi, Is it okay to pull the tooth and not do an implant? I think is tooth # 14 top left. I was told I need an implant or a bridge or a surgery to pull back the gums to redo the root canal to take care of the abscess to save the tooth. What is the best option.
Yes that's okay. ceramic implant is the best option. Don't redo the root canal! Get ozone where you'll remove the tooth to prevent bacteria buildup.

Where I live in Los Angeles, the cost of an implant runs between $5,000 to $6,000 per tooth. Even with insurance it can be costly.
what if they do regular cat scans, arent they more accurate than x-rays???? ( in picking up an infection)
cone beam ct scans are more accurate. regular cat scans are not.
I need to see you so badly honey :( I'm going through this and have R/C's that need to replace it with ceramic... where can I come see you Michele?

You need to remove the periodontal ligament otherwise the jawbone can get infected and that is another form of hell.
