Using wrapping paper for background on a page is great idea!!
Hi Nicole, I didn’t have washi in the colours I wanted so I gel printed A4 copier pages in the required colours and then cut those into strips and then did the same thing as you did with washi. Thank you for the inspiration.

There is no rhyme or reason it's just whatever color I'm feeling that day on the page, but that be ok. It'll be fun!
So far I've done a pink, blue, and purple page, maybe I'll do yellow when I have time idk.

Thanks...I have a Menards in my city and it never bothered me saying it until now. Now I giggle and picture things I shouldn't.
I want to make glue books with my grandkids. Have a glue night where they stay over and start it. Then I will send them cut out every week. They use what they want save or toss the rest.
Maybe plan overnight glue parties where they bring their book and we glue together. Sounds like fun to me. They are 10 and 8.

I've been a fussy cutting fool most of the weekend. Gads you are right! It takes forever! I have two plastic containers full of harvested pages and I am going through a stack that didn't make it in either one of them! I think I need to go on a harvesting diet? What do you think?

Hi Nicole, I love watching your colour gluebooking.... I've done mine a little different to yours and then ran out of pages so I'm going to stick 2 books together... We don't really have composition books like yours here in the UK they are just a notebook but I found some nice ones and so I will stick them together... That's a handy tip about adding an extra strip of washi if you don't fold them over very even.... As I've done that a lot on mine!! And I never thought of putting gluestick down on the book I run the washi over the gluestiick but your way is less messy 👍🏻😊😊

Thank you for the demo. I’ve been inspired to construct my own glue book thanks to discovering your vids not too long ago tho it’s been quite a beast of a project. It’s basically been a big challenge to destash alot of my things. Heck, the pages themselves are paper shopping bags that I’ve each modified for side/top pockets and added DIY watercolour washes to. I still really wanna do the side tags like you have but they’re gonna be rather challenging as I’ll likely have to cover alot of the inside of each page’s pocket too as the watercolour didn’t seep in as much as I hoped. I’ll have to really dig for good colour patterns in my magazine stash too as I don’t really have washi. The washi bug hasn’t really got me yet lol.

I stumbled across your channel recently and am now addicted to glue booking! You are a delight to listen to and so very creative :) One question - how do you do the backgrounds in your colour glue book? I imagine you may have covered this but cannot find a video.
Thank you so much! I used thin papers for my background because this ends up being a very chunky glue book. For example, I used wrapping paper, think scrapbook paper, and magazine images for my backgrounds. I even painted on some pages. Hope this helps!

Have just started my first colour glue book. I don't have washi tape so I used coloured paper to edge the pages. I live in South Africa and cannot find the composition note books like you are using. Our books have staples, can you use these or will they fall apart. I am using a book without staples but it does have a hard cover. First I am trying to do the backgrounds first.
So before the washi tape, you don't glue the two pages together? This was fun to watch, as usual. Thanks!
She mentioned before in another video that it saves a lot of glue not to stick pages together and also it wrinkles. 🌝
I’m doing a brown page or two with a vintage/death look/cut outs. I’m a hospice RN and want to depict the experience. It’s hard to put into words so don’t think I’m weird lol
I don’t think it’s weird at all. My father was on hospice before he passed last year. The nurses were amazing to my mother who was his caregiver. It takes a very special person to be a hospice nurse❤️
I am amazed at how much enjoyment I receive from glue booking. (Is that a word?) I love your channel! I am having trouble getting the background pages to cover the whole page near the spine. It either leaves a space I don't want or if I cut it wider it folds over. Looks sloppy. Your pages look so nice and neat at the inside spine. Anyone have any tips? TYI A
Hi Joan!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying glue booking!! It’s so addictive and fun! My tip for you is to use washi tape in the spine. It’s thinner than paper or magazine images. I do that a lot when my spine bothers me. I do sometimes cover the spine with a large magazine image, however it does make the book bulkier, and with the color glue book, it’s gets super bulky on its own. So I wouldn’t recommend you do it in every page. I hope this helps❤️

Why do you put 2 pages together? Have you ever used Dylusions by Dyan Reaveley epherema for your books?
I put two pages together for a couple reasons. 1. I love the look and feel of the colored washi tape on the edges. 2. By taping the pages together it makes the book smaller. Even with the way I did it, you still have 100 sides to collage. That’s a lot.
All in all it’s just a personal choice❤️
I did this part yesterday so I’m ready to start glueing so I my next step to pick a background to glue to to add some weight to the page?
Hi Valorie! A background page isn’t absolutely necessary. I just like to use a background because it allows me to glue down things where ever I want vs having to glue something down over a blank spot. I hope that makes sense!
So because you stick 2 pages together for an example if I got a notebook that was 120 pages. Sticking them together would that mean I was left with 60 pages to divide into my colours 🙂
Simple maths question I know but sometimes my brain just won't get there 🤣🤣
Yes ma’am! With 60 pages (after taping two together), with 10 colors, would give you 6 pages for each color. So 6 red, 6 orange, etc. ❤️

I see you are low on teal. Might I suggest National Geographic magazines. Not a lot of fussy cuts but lots of full page colors. And a lot of underwater with teal.
