Subaru P1. Super Rare, Super cool
UA-cam algorithm has brought me here. Love the P1 bud! Im fixing my coupe to be a prodrive replica
You guys are living the dream iv got a 1992 mazda 323 gtr I restored over lockdown but engine blowing smoke now 🙈🙈🙈🙈 effing old cars man I cant help but love them
A P1, that's some special car you got there.
Had an import wrx sti. Great car
Always wanted a P1……. Great stuff!
The P1. The Legend itself! Owned one for 4 years going back 17 years ago I bought it. I look forward to following your restoration. I would love to own a P1 again now. Maybe, just maybe.....
been there days with grinder with wire wheel. never again. done my p1 about 5 years ago still mint.
This video is a real treat to watch, especially when you have a 2000 Subaru Impreza Coupe in your garage that’s mint and original.
So much yes for the P1 and our boy Danny......but seriously who would leave this is a barn, whats the world coming too!
Cheers Iqy!
Glad to see another GC8 saved and especially a P1!
I saw this on the rig last Wednesday as was bringing in a caravan for repair seeing all the JDM icons and being a big fan of these cars seeing this in person I was like a little kid in a sweet shop can’t wait to see it finished
Brilliant structure to the video feels proper production not slapped together love it
1st video I've seen. Love the intro.
I clicked as swn as I saw Subaru and subscribed straight away. Going to enjoy this. 😉👍🏼
As a Subaru enthusiast I am really looking forward to this series. I wish we got the more enthusiast oriented models in the states during the 90s. In 2018 I purchased new my STi Type RA and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Pretty much plan to keep it stock with mainly OEM+ STI parts added.
That’s a beautiful Subaru, looking forwards to watching the rebuild!
Watching this from sunny Queensland Australia where you can neglect a car and drive it for 25 years and not have anything but small surface rust. I really respect all of the cold country car guys battling with having to deal with rebuilding everything all the time I don't know if I could do it.
I bought one of the first P1s from Cross Country Motors in Witney in the year 2000 ie 21 years ago, not sure where this guy got information that the car he is to restore is 25 years old ! I took the P1 straight to Spain where I live and i still own it today.A fantastic car.
I was trying to work that out too, I was pretty sure they were a facelift model.
Stumbled over here because of DriveTribe. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the car, but I love your no frills presentation. Channel has a good vibe, nice editing, and no goofy "cheapest xxxx" type of bull. Will stick around for the series 😊
You sir, have just hit me in the face with a sledge hammer!
I love this car!
Very much looking forward to the next instalment
Wow….imagine finding that!? Jesus what a find
Loving this new direction
Great to see another impreza saved. I am working my way through a cashmere sport special. No concourse car, just solid, patina workhorse for road rallying.
I clicked because I recognized the Torque GT name from when my brother picked up his Evo 9 from you guys and then got hooked with the production quality of the intro. Nice to see an automative company embracing UA-cam to produce good quality, enjoyable content.. Rather than producing boring videos for the sake of showing their brand. Great stuff guys.
P1 content 😊😊 subbed!!
I see a P1 and I hit like! 😍 I was just a kid when my dad took me with him to test drive a P1. Sadly he bought a bugeye WRX which he still has today, but it certainly fuelled my for Subarus!
I’m a evo 6.5 guy & I’m excited to follow this build, has to be the best ever looking wrx
Can't wait for more episodes
Great to see Dan back in front of a camera. Looking forward to the series.
looking forward to this build. awesome find!!
Nice fine. Look forward to the rebuild.
I still own my 2002 STi Type UK Bugeye. Bought new from the dealer.
It's SORN'd every winter and done 28K miles.
Always thought it was better looking than a P1 and was the proper WR Blue. Still love driving it.
His comment from the mark on the drivers seat and his expressions 🤣
Love this car. I’ll be here for every episode.
That looks like a hell of a lot of work but it’ll be so worth it! Thank you from every car enthusiast out there-not only for doing this-but for taking us on the journey 🙏🏻
Our pleasure!
Picking up my first wrx, a 2012 club spec in black next week. Can’t wait
Lovely, excited to watch this makeover !
My impreza looked immaculate underneath when I bought it! No rust that I could see until I removed that rubberised coating Subaru put on. Wow the amount of rust starting underneath the coating was unbelievable, I'm glad I done it when I did because given another year or 2 for the rust to spread my car would have been a goner.
Good luck with the build
I really, really miss my 01 Impreza RS Coupe. Subbed for this rebuild!
This will be fun to follow! Just started a restoration on an 01 rs coupe.
Dan's a natural. Great to see some content from you guys - I'm keeping an eye on your store and dreaming
Who's this?
Omgomgomg. My favorite car. So glad I just stumbled upon this!
This is what I needed 👍❤
Looking forward to keeping up with this series, it'll keep me on track for a very similiar restoration I'm doing myself. My dad's '96 WRX V-Limited sat in a barn for 10 years and after his passing I've decided to restore it in memory of him. Can't wait to see both mine and your classic fully restored. :)
Nice what number v limited you got i am just getting mine back on road got a 96 v limited in 53c number 235 of 1000
This looks great! I can't wait for more episodes- a proud owner of a 2003 Impreza WRX in Poland :-)
Definitely looking forward to more of this
Looking forward to this restoration 👍🏼
Great video , Great looking car. Love Impreza's. Looking forward to the rebuild, thanks for sharing. Cheers
Finally, someone who appreciates the unique gc8 chassis and especially the 2 door one!! As you said a true gem. New age imprezas are so boring and uninterested to me, even if they are better cars
Seriously the old imprezas and wrxs had character and heart now it’s all about tech and less about driving experience
Open up "pengepul mobil" mate he had a lot of gc8 and have 2 gc8 coupes
@@Betelgeuse1991 obviously, it is the lightest out of them all by far
Really enjoyed this video and looking forward to seeing how the build develops - brought back so many memories of my Impreza Turbo 2000 - nearly bankrupted me but what a drive!
same with me!got turbo 2000 GC8 X-reg as well and it brings me so much happy when I miss it in my memories!
Yup wanna see more of this
Subscribed, can't wait to see this restored, timeless classic.
The subaru impreza is just freaking 👌 awesome 👌
Subscribed and liked can’t wait to see the build!
Looking forward to following this build 😀
Good to see you infront of a camera again Dan, you have a natural ability for this 👍
Good luck getting new center caps 😁
My absolute dream car hope to get one one day
Subscribed. I have a one owner totally standard un restored p1. Gonna keep an eye on this resto and the decide what to do with mine
Can't wait to see how this comes along.
Grande Daniele 👏👏
Grazie mille!
Really looking forward t9 this project. Got really hyped when I heard is going to be kept as original as possible. Really, really want to see the results
I love your Datsun. I had one in high school wish I could find another
I really enjoyed everything you said especially about the 5 series :) cheers
Stumbled upon your channel with this p1 video.. now I’m interested to see the restoration. Subbed
Thanks for the sub!
Looking forward
Front radiator support/crossmember, rear end of the outer sills, rear inner wheel arches, theres a few to start with..😂 Good luck with this, enjoyed rebuilding one a few years back. 👍🏻
This is gonna be dope!
Making me miss my 06 WRX. It was a sad day when I sold it.
1:13 best transition ever
This is gonna be a great build, im excited for this
Dream car. There's a good condition '97 STI Type R for sale here in NZ for $92k. So they're still out of reach now that I'm 50, although the insurance company wouldn't laugh at me anymore, so there's that.
so tempted to buy a gc coupe and swap over my GD sti. Just dont have the heart to part out a fine car.
Cant wait for these episodes pure candy!
Owned a p1 Subaru for many years big mistake selling it you don't know what you had till you watch this program 👍👍👍
I've recently seen dry ice cleaning machines being used for car restoration. It's pretty amazing what they can do for undercarriages and engines. It's not a cheap machine though. Obsessed Garage and AmmoNYC have some recent videos. Looking forward to the next one.
tommyfyeah been putting out some videos of dry ice machines going to work if your into classic oem+ skylines worth a look
Looking forward to this series! But as a suggestion you should add episode numbers :)
To just leave a Scooby in a barn is bad enough but when it's a rare beast like the P1 then it's just pure sacrilege
This brought back memories the GC8 is the best Impreza, loved my Impreza turbo 2000 was original when I bought it and that's the way I wanted it to stay, but its an enthusiasts car with enthusiasts money needed to keep it going. If I remember correctly it cost me more to keep on the road over 4 years I owned it than the original price I payed for it. In the end I realised I wanted to spend at least another 2k to get it where I wanted it to be, sold it for £1800 4 years ago :(
I'm so jelly! I want one. Maybe just a 22b or just a gc8, maybe a gc wagon.
That looks just like my Evo 4. lot of work
Love the p1 but owning both a type R v5 limited imported gets my vote, no rust from salty British roads, luckily I bought 2 years ago before the price boom. These cars are amazing, get one guys as they will get out of price range for most in the next year
Looking forward to it! I have a 002.5rs, wish we had better GC chassis in the states.
Gunna be a good one this. I’m in!
My dream car. P1 WRX STI. ❤️
So looking forward to this 😍
Brilliant
There is a bit of P1 in your corrosion..
I hope that will be a great car at the end!!
Epic intro means a like
Ah the memories of picking up my brand new 96 P plate Scoobie Turbo in Reddish Blue ( and before they got the STI or WRX badges)
I like the blue gtb sitting next to the shop lol
You say it is in a bad state, ha-ha. Good video.
Subscribed. I remember driving one of these BITD, lovely car! Good luck with the project.
Thanks for the sub!
So pleased I stumbled upon this. What do I know the guy off.
I did Supercar Megabuild on Nat Geo many moons ago?
Really clean and clear video, thats a sub from me
Looking forward to seeing this restoration as it unfolds. Makes me wanna go drive mine if it wasn’t so wet!
Wish my uncle had kept his P1 - that thing was an absolute beast but shame it was a bit abused by the previous owner.
Beautiful car
Im a simple man i see a Subaru i hit like
Try doing dry ice blasting in the engine, under body and suspension. You will be shocked at the results and what you will not need to replace.
Any further info on this process? Thanks
