It's so true!! My fav. bad audition: "That was good. Now, could you belt the whole song, but like, up an octave?" I was not auditioning for a belt role.

Ok the pop song one is me... But that's my fault for auditioning for "Legally Blonde"-type musicals with a "Phantom of the Opera"-type voice.

This was great. When I auditioned to be in my old college's theater program, I had only been acting for about a year and a half, and only auditioned for stuff in my school and church. Never had I done anything outside of them, and had no idea what I was doing really. The pianist, who is nationally known for being amazing, had to restart the song twice, first time because of tempo and then she messed up some notes. I was so nervous and scared. I was blown away at how well prepared the other kids were and how talented they were and I was in awe. Like, what the hell am I even doing here. I didn't even bring dance clothes or own dance shoes. It's hilarious to think of now. Somehow, I was accepted into the program. Ah what a difference 4 years makes. I would own that audition now.

the worst audition i ever had was for seussical the musical, and i was singing notice me horton, and the pianist sounded like a 12 yr old level one pianist playing the song for the first time, and then had the nerve to tell me that he was trying to follow my "sloppy tempo". i got in, but still.
I'm auditioning for a seussical show now ahahaha any pointers? :p
I like this song. On the brightside if your in a audition and it's goes bad you can hear this song .

His temp job asked him to stay. So he missed his audition.
Taylor Schuler ive been dreading that happening on an audition day STUPID FUCKING DISH WASHING JOB ive missed one audition because of it and i didn't find out about the audition till the day of (but i ended up getting the chance to audition anyway and got into the show THANK GOD ONE OF MY Friends FROM HIGH SCHOOL IS CO Directing THE SHOW) i still got into the show now lets hope the job doesn't get in the way of rehursals

my worst audition was sophomore year and our school did "Little Women" and I went in with "what it means to be a friend" from 13: the musical. I didn't have much experience with auditions but I asked the pianist to compose it 2 steps down and she goes "I'm sorry I can't". then I sang out of my vocal range for 16 bars and looked the directors in the eye (I NOW KNOW, DO NOT). yeah.....I didn't get cast

My worst was auditioning for legally blonde with my strongest suit from Aida (not my best pick for an audition song) and my director said. “Yea I don’t like Elton John... I mean his pop songs are ok though”

I LOVED THAT!!!!!!!!! That has happened to me at audiotions before, to some extent. I've gotten you're too short, need new headshots, lets see some fouitees (which I actually performed well), my music is in the wrong key....GAIN twenty pounds....yupperdodles. Gotta love theatre auditions!!!
