I have an audition for we will rock you and I’m going for the mail role the killer queen and I’m really nervous people in my year will laugh at me and I have just done my lamda exam yesterday and the auditions are in 4/3 days and if you don’t memorise it you won’t get a main role. I have also been a narrator in every show I have been in apart from a shepherd in the nativity ( I still said one word ) THIS IS REALLY STRESSFUL
real, in our shows the school year before them we do a dance from the next musical for next year after our musical (sorry if that’s confusing) but they literally so obviously precast the shows a YEAR before because they give the kids the main roles a year before for a snippet then cast them as the same thing the next year for the actual thing
I watched this bc I had my audition today and I thought I would judge myself cuz I didn’t know if my friends were just being nice or if they were being honest. Thx so much I feel so much better.
I'm auditioning for my school's spring musical beauty and the beast tomorrow, and ive been looking forward to auditioning since the beginning of summer. I'm currently practicing and im super excited and nervous. Callbacks are gonna be on the 14th so i hope i do well. I'm going for mrs. potts but i'll be happy with any role as ive wanted to be in a musical for months
I just found your channel! I’m in love. My dream job is to direct shows or be a teacher for middle schoolers. Thanks for the funny editing with the broadway songs! ❤
Musical theatre and singing have saved me from depression i will forever be grateful and i practice everyday. I’m going to a 3week camp studying musical theater, i hope i land a good role, the only thing I’m confident in is my singing though…
College junior here. I've only been in a handful of plays and sung all my life, and will be auditioning for what could be my first-ever musical next week: Bright Star, going for Jimmy Ray Dobbs, the lead male. This advice is all super helpful, particularly since I've never done this before and my background being in classical makes adapting to this production's bluegrass quite the experience. Thanks Caylee for the golden advice.
This advice is so good! Eye contact is also really helpful with the panel especially when your singing. Hand motions and acting like the character when your singing is also really good. Thank you for this advice ❤
I’ve been doing thetre for like 9 yrs and I’ve only got 1 lead role and I rlly hope this works and Ty sm I’m really excited for the next performance ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I want to do musical theatre so bad. Ever since I saw The Phantom of the Opera I have been in love. I have been introduced to an amazing community. I just cannot get over my anxiety. Another thing, I USED to be tone deaf. Yea, seems like I am picking the right career path right? So, I have been practicing singing everyday. I am going to take acting classes. Thanks for the tips!
I have been very fortunate to go to a high school that offers drama and has improv class, in that class we had to improvise a musical. And now I have the opportunity to audition for a musical happening at the end of the year😊 Good luck on musical theatre 😎🤭
@@oyii.z1474 That is awesome! My school offers drama/ acting classes. They do plays but not musicals unfortunately. I am planning on taking the drama class and attending the drama club that they offer. So I will be ready for musicals in my next school. I wish you luck in your audition(s)!
@@potork Thank you so much🤗. Can you not convince your teacher or the people organizing the acting classes to make a musical🫠? Anyways... It's a good thing that you're taking the acting classes and joining the drama club😛. I hope your next school does musicals🤗😝 Good luck on your acting career!
@@oyii.z1474 My band teacher and choir teacher have both reached out to our drama teacher and asked. Even local theaters have reached out to help with our “musical theater program.” But our drama teacher said it is “too much work.” Even though she already has a DRAMA CLUB where she can do musicals. My band teacher even offered that our advanced band could do live orchestra. Idk. Just gonna have to stick with plays for now.
I have never gone in a theatre or musical before and i have bad social anxiety but i really hope i get a chance to because i love theatre and musicals. This video is super helpful cause i'd probably mess up and i have no experience lol. Tysm ❤
Hi! I love your videos, & I feel like they are really going to help me on my plays at school. This is my first year of taking theatre, and I was really nervous. But I’ve started watching your videos and they have really helped me on everything I need to know about theatre. Now I’m not afraid to walk up on stage with a parter and start a scene, write a monologue, or even do improv! You have really helped me build my confidence and I’m so great ful for that!❤❤❤
I’m a junior in highschool and this will be my first ever musical we’ll actually my first theatre experience in general and I’m thinking about auditioning for grease my mom says I should do it and it seems fun but I’m super nervous about the whole auditioning process just since I’ve never done it before but if I do end up going through with it I’m gonna audition for Danny

I've never done anything very out there or out of my comfort zone... though I've always loved singing. Now, in my freshman year, the school musical is Mean Girls! One of my favs! I told myself I'd audition for Janis and have been practicing since September... the auditions are November 28th and I'm not sure if I'll be doing it or not. My anxiety is getting the best of me...
I genuinely hope that you’ll follow through with it! It is 100% normal to be nervous about the process, but you will be so PROUD of yourself if you participate, no matter the outcome ♥️. Wishing you the breakage of many limbs!
@@cayleejo UPDATE; I kept practicing and tried my best to be prepared for the worst… I ended up getting sick this weekend BUT THAT DIDNT STOP ME!!! I still went for the audition and I made the callback list!! Callbacks are tomorrow (I’ll have to sing A Cautionary Tale and read a bit of the script) and then the cast list will be put out friday. It’s between another girl in my grade and myself so there’s no senior priority there- which means I truly have a chance!! I wasn’t expecting it but man will I try hard!! Hey! I have auditions tomorrow for SpongeBob jr! I’m going out for sandy, this really helped me. Thank you! ( I’ll update what I role I got when I get it! )
I have an audition today after school! It’s for a Shakespeare play, which I’ve never done before- more of a musical person- but I’m excited! What if you are a shaky person? Because personally I shake a lot during auditions, and I’m scared it’s going to take away from the performance ❤
I am also a shaky person! Before I walk into the audition room I always "shake it out", jump around, shake each arm, each leg, take deep breaths, do whatever you can to get that pent up energy out of your body. But, if you still end up shaking a little it can also add to your character! Whether a character is angry, sad, or even incredibly happy, they make tremble with this feelings. Break a leg!
My school is doing Tuck Everlasting this year. Which kind of sucks because we have pretty large department of mostly girls. It has 11 roles, 4 are female, 6 are male, and one is a carnival worker with two lines. Long story short, I got the carnival worker as a first-year theater kid (even over students who played main characters last year) because I was the only one to give the give the character a personality. I did a cartwheel (unprompted) and let my natural accent shine through. They also gave opportunities to try out for other roles in the show at the last-minute. I knew I’d probably suck because I’m not a super strong singer and I had no prep but I tried anyway and I was also told that helped.
Theatre is my LIFE as I started when I was around 6 and had been doing it since then and I am auditioning for Maid Marion in Robin Hood WISH ME LUCK!!! Edit: I got the part
Came here from a Wednesday blooper video- to know that even professionals mess up makes me confident- I used to do musical theatre in school, so I’ve been in plays before (we even preformed Descendants!) I’ve been thinking about starting acting, so I thought this video might help me get back into it. Wish I had these tips when I started! Will definitely keep them in mind when trying out for backstage!
Okay so small storytime, I’m in a children’s theater place, have been there for about just over a year, and they do 3 shows each summer, and when I was in SpongeBob I was SO PREPARED. I listened to the entire soundtrack way too many times like 5 weeks before, and you wanna know what? I was squidward! One of my number one choices! And my director pulled me aside and told me, “hey Maxine, I just wanna tell you that on the first day you were amazing, you knew all the songs, the whole story, and really you would’ve been great as any character!” And I was SO happy, so yes, the number one point of being prepared is SO important, because in my case, I could’ve again, been anyone, SpongeBob, sandy, patrick, pearl, krabs, plankton, Karen or literally anyone! It’s just that squidward was the one that I just happened to get with that cast, if it were different people, then maybe I could’ve been SpongeBob, so yes, BE PREPARED, and like what’s even more shocking was that I’m on the younger side, I’m not going to say what I’m in but the place goes from grades 4 to 9, and I’m on the younger side, with like 9th and 8th graders also there it really shows, again, BE. PREPARED!!!
I really want a lead roll but I've only done one other play and people said I did amazing and I really stood out from everyone else.....I want to get a lead so bad! And my last roll I had to switch rolls last minute like I only had like a month to learn a lot of lines.....and we all had like 5 months to practice....so thanks for the tips!
Thank you for the helpful advice. I am a junior in college, and I take Performance & Production. I’m going to audition for both of our upcoming theatre shows for next semester. I have done many auditions in the past, but I haven’t gotten my first role yet. Becoming an actor is my dream!
Would love to see this in the other perspective of casting directors if you had any notes on how to pick a good cast for a musical!? Would be really beneficial as I have been asked to cast for The Wizard of Oz and can’t find any good videos on what to look for when choosing my cast!
Coincidentally I wrapped up that show earlier this year! You may check out my “Directing Wizard of Oz” playlist here on YT, but I don’t have a specific video on casting advice. I’ll look into it! I will share that with Wizard of Oz your Wicked Witch will make or break your show. If you don’t have a believable villain (in that ICONIC role) it is really rough to believe the rest of the story. My email is in my YT bio, feel free to email me any specific Wizard casting questions.
The auditions for my schools musical are next week and i watched this video after trying to prepare myself, i thought i did it all wrong! but : -one panelist is my teacher and im always a good student -i have already memorised the monologue and part of song i need -filmed myself multiple times -filled in my audition form and turn it in early -and i have a confident aura or so im told (its said that im confident and it shows) now i know im doing the right thing! Hello! You may not read this, but I figured this is a question we could all use (especially me): How do you calm jitters the night before to stay well rested, and ready to perform?
I am addicted to Theatre and I desperately hope to get the parts I want in the current play. Auditions are on Thursday! These tips are incredible! Thank you greatly for the information.
Realising how LATE I am to this video? Would be so helpful last summer when I was auditioning for a supporting role in my school production musical! This is the first video that helped me properly and I really listened and put everything into practice. Love you for this
I have always been cast as narrators and I’m really sick of it. But now I am auditioning for killer queen( main role villan) and I’m really worried my friends ( or people in my year ) are going to laugh at me behind my back. I am also going against 2 drama captains and I’m so worried it’s in four days ( Tuesday) and I have to memorise it or I can’t audition for the role. I just had my lamda exam yesterday and soon the auditions. Idk if I’m going to get laughed at or freeze so I’m freaking out. I am in year 6 and i have been trying to find comments to calm my nerves. I really hope they don’t laugh at me but even if they do I will try to brush it off. This video as been really helpfull as I am stressed. Thank you for this
@@gianna526 so it went well but I didn’t get the role and one of the drama captains (my best friend) got it instead. And the other drama captain got the role she went for. When I found out I cried because I got a small role but it ended up being really fun and I got a solo and would do anything to perform it again! I had to wear an itchy wig though lol
I’m doing a wizard of oz musical in my school I really wanna get the gatekeeper role ! there’s most likely like 30 people auditioning for it aswell so this video was perfect hopefully I get it :)
It's my first year of highschool and I'm auditionting for our spring musical, high school musical. I'm new to theater (just started last year) and I really am not sure how my audition will go. Auditions are this Wednesday I'm trynna go for Sharpay, but I'm not sure if I should go for such a big role as this would be my second show. I've been trying my best to prepare and I found this video really helpful, something about this helped me calm my nerves, so I thank you very much:))
I think Sharpay is a great choice to aim for! Auditioning with her in mind will help remind you to keep your volume LOUD and your actions BIG, which a lot of people shy away from/accidentally forget in auditions. Break a leg at your audition! This is a super fun show to be apart of.
This is a great question! In general I would never maintain eye contact with the panel while auditioning with your song or monologue - this can just become a little uncomfortable/unnerving as someone sitting on the other side of the table. BUT, I do highly suggest that you determine who your character is singing to and decide where they are in the room. For example, if they're singing to a parent maybe that parent is standing just behind the judge's table, so THAT is the point that you're making eye contact with/directing movements towards. I hope that helps!
I have callbacks for my high school senior show tomorrow (Blood Brothers, I’m auditioning for the Narrator) and I’m really nervous and excited at the same time! I’m relatively new where theatre is concerned, I’ve only been in one show thus far outside of primary school, but I’ve really found my home in the theatre community in the short period of time for which I’ve known it. Thank you very much for these tips!
the question at the end made me realise that at first i wanted to be a director mostly because i don't like being in the spotlight while i love acting and theatre !
May I add two more quick points, as someone who auditions people for Film, TV and Theatre roles in the UK. 1) The person who greets you when you enter the building and says "I'm sorry we're running a little bit late, would you mind waiting in here, until your name is called" - That person is also taking notes about you, so be nice to them. 2) Anyone who "no shows", is never, ever offered another audition, with us.
I’ve never acted o and i think my singing isn’t sting enough. However, I’m auditioning for one of the sorority sisters in my schools legally blonde production. I’ve been practicing my singing and I’ve listened to recordings of me and idk. I just feel like my audition won’t go aswell but I really want atleast a role in it 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ The reason why I want to be apart of it is to create bonds with the people I met last years show(I was on sound and tech and I also painted some of the stage props) but this year I want to be apart of it, especially after spending so much time with the main cast of last years show and watching them perform through every setback and trying their best
Question: If I get to do a song and monologue is it a good idea to pick both from the same show? Example: you’ll be back, and the monologue from the world was wide enough (both from hamilton)
i’ve been in 4 musical shows (this is my 4th one) the closest i got to a lead was a supporting characther - which was the antoganist in elf (greenway) and i’m DESPRRATEEEEE to be sky masterson in guys and dolls next semester if we do that show (when i tell you im desperate im more desperate for when i got the arron burr role) - keep in mind i got that role when my school mad e a custom musical of broadway musicals we love
Auditioning for Ida in honk jr on Friday! I'm so nervous but ready to audition for this role. Thank you so much for these tips as this is the first time I'm auditioning for a lead
Greetings and salutations! :D /j (I just like quoting movies) I'm 13-14 years old, and am going to grade 8 in like a month or so- and I always wanted to join our schools drama class, and just be in a play- idc if it's the main character, a side role, or just even behind the scenes- And apparently my school is doing a heathers play (musical edition! :3) next year and I really wanna try and get a role- but my social anxiety, shyness, and awkwardness is getting in the way I overthink everything, get too scared of what everyone will think, and lose my actual talent when I try to imagine a crowd to see me act- I had access from my friend of the play, what they changed to be more appropriate, and everything- throughout all of it I thought I'd fit JD well, but again- he's a more main character and I'd probably freeze up when it comes to auditioning- ESPECIALLY since I'm a girl and all- and probably wouldn't get HIS character out of everyone But I REALLY am passionate about the role, the singing, the acting- I just can't get rid of my social shyness when auditioning :(
Also like to add on, but I have no theatre or drama experience from before, unlike all the other drama cast who've been doing it for atleast a year or two- So I'm worried that will also get in the way
Hellooo!! I searched this up because I will be auditioning for SpongeBob the musical soon. Also aaa heathers!! I love that musical. I've never auditioned nor do I have theatre experience yet either and I used to have severe social anxiety, I saw on tiktok someone's production of heathers and they had a female JD!! JD is also one of my dream roles but I doubt my schools doing heathers soon lol. Sorry for getting sidetracked, I may not know you but I believe in you!! I've been in your shoes and I'm also so nervous to audition but if theatre is your passion then follow your heart! Maybe practice in front of family or friends you trust before doing the real thing. A quote I saw somewhere (don't remember where lol) but it said "If you feel stupid, then you're doing it right" Theatre is about performing and entertaining while also having fun. Which some people may say it's cringe, or silly and it is! It's supposed to be that way sometimes because it's fun to be silly and it's fun to be cringe! I wish you so much luck on your role, you've got this!! Don't be worried about getting in the way, there will be lots of preparation before any show so as long as you got everything down, you're good! Never be afraid to ask for help too.
I have an audition this spring but I have been trying to prepare since I found out about it. I’m an alto girl auditioning for a male role (Mike Teevee) do you have any tips for Females auditioning for Male roles, or even tips for singing better (because I am a not great singer, who has only gotten cast as ensemble)? Thank you! Wish me luck!!
If you already read my other comment that’s great, but whatever, so I’m doing Annie at my theater place in 5 days, and Ive been preparing and singing all the songs for like 2 months! So I’m fairly confident that I’ll get somebody good, I’m aiming for hannigan, rooster or lily, and I’m very confident in myself, this is my 8th show at my theater company but 5 of them have been 2 week long summer programs, but still, I’m very confident in myself, because!! I’m prepared, have done well in the past, dress wisely and have been at this like place for 8 years, (the ballet company is in the same building, I’ve been going there for 8 years) so I’m also fairly well known there, so like I wish myself luck and ask for your luck!!
how did you become a theatre teacher? like what did you go to college for? i think i want to be a theatre teacher and i don’t know if i need a BFA or something diffrent!!
I'm actually planning on making a video that dives into my personal teaching journey, but the short version is, I actually have a BFA in English with a minor in secondary education. I had ZERO professional theatre training when I got my very first teaching job (high school theatre teacher), but I had a lot of practical experience in theatre and that is why they hired me. I went on to earn to my MA (Master of Arts) in Theatre Education in 2021. My recommendation is to either pursue a BFA in Theatre Education (quite a few colleges offer this degree program now) OR pursue a BA in Theatre while also being enrolled in an education program to compete certification, student teaching, etc. I hope this helps!
My school is doing a musical (Mean Girls Jr) for the first time, and i feel they weren’t very specific and didnt give enough information. Almost the entirety of the audition is up to the person who’s auditioning. Such as you can pick any songs, doesnt need to be from the musical, any song of any genre and vocal range. For me, someone who is doing a musical for the first time, im a little anxious about picking a song that would be good for my audition. And for the audition scripts, there is only 1 audition side for the character i am auditioning for and she only has 3 lines in it. (Regina George) Should i be picking that script with her lines or pick a completely different character but with more lines then mine in given?
watching this before auditioning for gaston. our musical this year is beauty and the beast, and i either wanna go for lefou or gaston (even though i'm a girl).😭
Our school just finished with beauty and the beast it truly was such an amazing musical but for our next we are doing shrek!! Are there any tips when auditioning?? Cause I hope I get farqaud😭😭😭
@aymaneguellil5694 i would honestly say that the biggest thing is preparing early. start preparing as soon as you can, and make sure you do your research about not only the play/musical but also the character that you want to audition for. also, if there's any singing that you have to do for the audition, i would get someone to listen to how you sing and take constructive criticism. also, practice your lines in front of people and say the sentence naturally a few times before learning some words that you should put emphasis on. water is also important, and so is projecting when you practice your lines! take deep breaths right before your audition, and make sure that you remember everything that you have gone over (practicing, emphasis on lines, etc.) words of affirmation are your best friend. you got this!
oh my goodness!! not sure if you remember me but I played the Lion when you did Wizard of oz!! you just came up on autoplay while I’m doing character research!! hoping you are doing well!! missing you!!
How could I forget you?! I adore you to this day and think of you often 🥰. I still follow lots of theatre groups from that area and am always scanning cast lists to see if you’re in them. Can’t wait to see your name in lights someday! I hope you’re doing well also, {hugs}.
I'm auditioning for Addams Family at my school and I am a senior. I am called to sing for Wednesday and Alice (I reallyyyyyy want Wednesday). We had our dance audition yesterday and I last-minute put my hair in 2 french braids (partly because I wanted them to be able to see me as Wednesday - heh) but also it's a nice hairstyle to be in when dancing a lot. My teacher has also seen me in that hairstyle before because I like to do my hair in class. I also did braids today but it's for the whole school day (it's also a no-hair-wash day so it's a bit greasy lol and it keeps my hair out of my face during the day). Would you count that as bad/something I shouldn't do? We are doing acting today (cold reads) and singing tomorrow (even though we have to send in videos for solos). I'm not totally nervous, as I feel very confident looking at the other people she's called back for Wednesday. I don't totally know what I'm typing at this point cause I'm just ranting cause I know I'm gonna be casted (she told me last week individually) but it may be my last show at my school and I want something really good. I've only gotten 1 lead since being at the school (Little Red Riding Hood in Into The Woods last spring). I just want to go out with a bang.
Focus on a spot above their heads! Eye contact while singing, especially eye contact with people you know, can really throw you off, so find a spot above their heads and sing to that spot.

Do you have any tips on how to not be nervous or shaking so my voice doesn’t crack or sound shaki?
Hey! I’m not Caylee lol but a tip I have is to always be confident! Act like no one is there. I did that during an audition and the director was impressed! I ended up getting into the performance. Good luck on your audition!! Rooting for you! :D
I hope your audition went well! As Paisy said, just be confident. And if you don't feel confident, act like you are! If you're anxious abiout coming across as anxious, the only thing that can fix that is not coming off as anxious.
This was so helpful honestly but the rule I wanted was a leading role but this was so helpful just in case I wanted to or to give advice to other people that want that but this was incredibly helpful thank you so much!❤
I have a question. So I’m planning on auditioning on the last Monday of February for a double cast production of The Thirty Three Little Pigs (play) and one of the casts have a later rehearsal time than the other. I have some after school activities that happen before the later cast rehearsals, so that would work. But, I’m worried about that i could get cast in the earlier cast and would be forced to either refuse the role or quit my two other activities. Should I put down the activities on the conflicts list? And would that affect me getting cast? I’m willing to skip the activities for important tech week rehearsals towards the end, but I don’t want to quit everything entirely. I would appreciate your advice greatly. Thank you!
If I were the casting director that would absolutely NOT impact casting decisions! In fact, I would be thankful that you chose to be honest from the beginning. If you're trying to work around your other activities it shows that you're an individual who places a high priority on the activities that they're involved in, meaning you would also be a valuable cast member! I would absolutely write down your conflicts and not worry about it being a factor in casting.
Wish I saw this before my audition for Legally Blonde (I really want Emmett), but listening to this, the only one I didn’t do was the video one, so fingers crossed 🤞.

Break a leg! Update us if you get the chance! I have a friend who just finished playing Jimmy - it is a beautiful show!
This advice is so good! Eye contact is also really helpful with the panel especially when your singing. Hand motions and acting like the character when your singing is also really good. Thank you for this advice ❤

Congrats! I’m glad to hear going the extra mile helped you shine ✨.

I absolutely LOVE theater and would agree with these 100%!!! I’m trying out for Katherine in Newsies Jr in the spring

My email is in my YT bio, feel free to email me any specific Wizard casting questions.

hiii i love your videos! quick question: when im performing my monologue/song do i maintain eye contact with the judges or look ahead
Im auditioning for annie jr and im auditioning for annie! I’ll come back when the cast list is out!!
I GOT LILY ST REGIOS
Idk why but I got this on my fyp after auditions
I’ve never acted o and i think my singing isn’t sting enough. However, I’m auditioning for one of the sorority sisters in my schools legally blonde production. I’ve been practicing my singing and I’ve listened to recordings of me and idk. I just feel like my audition won’t go aswell but I really want atleast a role in it 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
The reason why I want to be apart of it is to create bonds with the people I met last years show(I was on sound and tech and I also painted some of the stage props) but this year I want to be apart of it, especially after spending so much time with the main cast of last years show and watching them perform through every setback and trying their best
where were you when i had auditions 😔
Question:
If I get to do a song and monologue is it a good idea to pick both from the same show?
Example: you’ll be back, and the monologue from the world was wide enough (both from hamilton)
My director gives us the monologues on the day of the audition so we get 20 minutes to read and then we audition 👍
i’ve been in 4 musical shows (this is my 4th one) the closest i got to a lead was a supporting characther - which was the antoganist in elf (greenway) and i’m DESPRRATEEEEE to be sky masterson in guys and dolls next semester if we do that show (when i tell you im desperate im more desperate for when i got the arron burr role) - keep in mind i got that role when my school mad e a custom musical of broadway musicals we love

(I just like quoting movies)
I'm 13-14 years old, and am going to grade 8 in like a month or so- and I always wanted to join our schools drama class, and just be in a play- idc if it's the main character, a side role, or just even behind the scenes-
And apparently my school is doing a heathers play (musical edition! :3) next year and I really wanna try and get a role- but my social anxiety, shyness, and awkwardness is getting in the way
I overthink everything, get too scared of what everyone will think, and lose my actual talent when I try to imagine a crowd to see me act-
I had access from my friend of the play, what they changed to be more appropriate, and everything- throughout all of it I thought I'd fit JD well, but again- he's a more main character and I'd probably freeze up when it comes to auditioning-
ESPECIALLY since I'm a girl and all- and probably wouldn't get HIS character out of everyone
But I REALLY am passionate about the role, the singing, the acting- I just can't get rid of my social shyness when auditioning :(
Also like to add on, but I have no theatre or drama experience from before, unlike all the other drama cast who've been doing it for atleast a year or two-
So I'm worried that will also get in the way
I wish I could've known this when I did my first production
Im auditioning for my first ever play in a week and I’m so nervous. But I’ll prepare as well as i can and update you guys!

I studied and got a BA in Theatre Education from Ball State University! It’s a true theatre ed major and not a theatre and education double major!

I’m also a senior auditioning for Wednesday lol and I often braid my hair so I’d like to know the answer too
I’m auditioning for Matilda but it’s in school and I’m always scared to sing in front of my teachers and friends. Any tips?
Focus on a spot above their heads! Eye contact while singing, especially eye contact with people you know, can really throw you off, so find a spot above their heads and sing to that spot.
@@cayleejo I’m not sure if I’m the right size for it
@@Clay_beads190If they seem too much taller than you for you to look above their heads, then pick a spot between two people's heads.
Omg hi, i'm in second year in Uni, and for the first time, I'm entering a theatre club, it didn't exist before (as I'm in France and it's an english theatre club being created) and i'm so nervous but excited.

Hey! I’m Emilee and I’m 12 years old and I have always wanted to be an actress when I was younger and I have very high anxiety and in April I’m going to for a audition for descendants and I’ve never done this before so thank you so much for that great advice that really is going to help me a lot.
This was so helpful honestly but the rule I wanted was a leading role but this was so helpful just in case I wanted to or to give advice to other people that want that but this was incredibly helpful thank you so much!❤
I’m always (not always of course) I’m a Boy Scout be prepared is our moddo
@@cayleejo thank you so much! I appreciate that you replied because I was unsure :D
Wish I saw this before my audition for Legally Blonde (I really want Emmett), but listening to this, the only one I didn’t do was the video one, so fingers crossed 🤞.
How’d it go?
@JuliaHathorn I got Aaron Schultz/Elle's Dad, so I could've gotten worse 🤷
@@seanf1451 yeah that’s a really good mindset and I’m sure you’ll do amazing!
