I wouldn't give up swimming with Freja yet. My 1/2 german shepard, border collie mix HATED water as a puppy. Like with a passion, and I was so sad about it. But once he hit about 6 months, we did a lot of stick and ball throwing on the shoreline, and he started warming up to it. Then he'd play on the shore of the water while we swam. Over time, and lots of sticks later, about 3 years in he started swimming a little bit with us. 6 years later and he will swim if we swim, but after a while he goes back. I think it's easy to train :)
for sure! dogs needs to learn that water means no danger which you achieve with a lot of positive associations. it’s very comparable to teaching dogs being chill with things like nail clipping. don’t give up on it! with a lot of motivating, calm and rewarding words (and treats) i think she could become peaceful with water 🌊❤️ always show her that water is amazing and take it slow.

My golden retriever puppy (a dog bred to retrieve in water) was nervous in water the first 20 times we tried. Water with movement and waves were particularly terrifying. Keep at it and start in very calm, still water. It also helped a lot when he saw other dogs safely swim. At about 10 months he started to love it and, now I can't keep him out of the water.
Oh, you should add that paella is NAMED for the large pans they make it in. So a paella pan is a paella. The most important thing about paella rice is the SAFFRON, it's SO much less expensive in Spain than in U.S.A. Well done on the vegan version!

Get a smallish clip-type dog collar and loop it in your dog leash handle and that's where it lives. This way, you always have a super easy way to secure Freya's leash without the need to tie the leash in a knot. Gives Freya more leash length too while she's hooked up. Win win.
As someone that was.born and raised on Maui and lived in Huelo off grid in a house that makes yours look fancy ...I understand the need to escape the jungle hahah 😆 people that don't live in it don't understand how claustrophobic it can be
Freya is starting to look so mature and beautiful ❤️ My collie hates puddles ect but we went to a safe flat lake and one day she just decided to paddle. I'd recommend some flat standing water with a slope and just let her explore.

@@WildWeRoam Thank you for responding. On solar, there are some "cheapy" Harbor Freight 100 watt panels that I got one at a time, they actually pick up light even through clouds. I know you had some on the van and probably know more than I in making a simple system. I watched from June to present, quite a change in life, and a blessing 🥰❣

I can’t say the same will be true for Freya but our dog has hated water since day one and how we could take a dog to the beach and have her not get the slightest bit wet was a mystery to us but then one day it was just like she forgot her aversion to the water and jumped in to get a ball and ever since then water play is part of every beach trip. However, she still acts like we’re trying to bath her in acid and a garden hose might as well be a poison snake. Merry Christmas to you both!

Just a helpful hint....my dog was afraid of water as well. He is a Catahoula. Bought him a life vest.....he swam with confidence, and we played "stick", which he enjoyed. So funny.....first few times without the life vest he was like.....wait a minute....but in no time he was in the water without it. ...... and loves the water now :)
Merry Christmas dear family, we wish you only the good notes in life today and always, lots of health and prosperity too! Stan's shirt came a day before Christmas eve so that was the scope of the week, yaaay exiting! Perfect timing for X-day haha. I am very sorry to hear about the rainy season, I can relate in the opposite direction though, it has been a very dry in here, it was 41 C for 90 days this summer, then rained for a day and never since that day. The earth needs it so bad. Yet we have summer for Christmas - I guess this year is just different. For someone from Bulgaria we miss the snow so much 🥺 which is the biggest challenge. I am checking that restaurant out online - they have some pretty neat dishes nom,nom! Even though we are far away, I can try and recreate something! Thank you for taking us on your walk today! Hi there well you could clear out a spot for solar panels and get up you know a thousand or more watts going or at least a couple thousand Watts or pounds it doesn't care if it's cloudy or not it could cost some more but they're well worth it and also invest in the windmill since you get a lot of when there that would also give you all kinds of electricity OK

I LOL’d seeing Freja digging in the sand behind Dana’s beach chair. Our GSD, Sunny, is a digger and it started very suddenly, but boy is it hilarious.
