- We've been dreaming of this day for some time now and to finally get the news not only that the boat has found the perfect new owner, but also that the cash has hit our bank account. Leaving our Penelope in a foreign country after our unexpected change of heart was a complicated decision for me and Lou. On the one hand, we knew that we clearly saw a different future for ourselves than the one we had been working towards, and then, on the other hand, all this effort we had poured into Penelope... well it had to stay aboard. We knew we wouldn't get reimbursed for those 100s of hours and 1,000s of dollars (even when we were putting them in winter after winter). That's the thing with working on old boats... you're working on them for yourself because it's not really an appreciating asset. But the dream comes together when you find someone who can see that hard work, appreciate it, and give it another life, and that's just how this story unfolded. We are so happy that Penelope is going to keep on going in her bluewater sailing adventures, but we're also so happy that it's not going to be us on the boat!!! Instead, we've found a life that embraces all the things we love and we're just beyond grateful to get to share all the ups and downs along the way with you.

It's been a hard few years for my wife and I. We have been working service jobs in our college town (we've been done with college for awhile), and don't get me wrong, things have been good compared to how we started. But we're well educated, motivated people feeling stuck, but still a bit hopeful. Just wanted to share. Thanks guys for being a comfort to us.
Baby Belly!! Oh, how I miss having the baby in the belly. My youngest baby is now 17, a senior in high school, and is currently sitting in the garage sewing herself a dress. She has been teaching herself to sew for about a year now, and she's getting so good at it! My oldest, now 20, is sitting in his apartment, bored to tears because he has covid. He hates being bored and misses his girlfriend so much, even though she literally lives around the corner from him. He's been calling me everyday to whine about it, but he usually calls me everyday anyway. It's the highlight of my day to see his name on my caller ID, or to hear my daughter call out my name from her room, asking for my opinion about how her latest endeavor looks...or to ask for hugs and snuggles.
No matter how old or big they get, they will always be that tiny little baby: you'll never forget the first time you felt them kick, or the first time you saw them flip around and make your belly look like something reminiscent of the Alien movies. You'll never forget the moment you realized you were in labor, or how long it took to pop them out. You'll never forget the first time you saw their tiny little face, or heard their first cry, or the first time they made eye contact with you. You'll never forget your first night at home with them (mostly because it'll be horrific and miserable and you'll shed as many tears as they will). You'll never forget their first word, step, scrape, etc. You'll dread the day they experience their first breakup; but, on that day, no matter how old they are or how big or whether they're a boy or a girl, they will curl up in your lap and cry--and even though it'll feel good to feel as needed as you were on the day they were born, you will cry, too, because you'll know it's only the first of many of life's hurts that you won't be able to control or prevent. Even so, the joys and triumphs will always outweigh the pains and defeats. And even when they are all grown up, whether they become a lawyer or a doctor or a food delivery driver--or even a youtuber who sails across the ocean--every time you look at them, you'll see that tiny little face that you saw on that very first day.
I'm so happy for you guys! Enjoy every single second of it, because it flies by so quickly! ❤

Lou, obviously not everyone is as privileged as you are and has the freedom to cultivate the life they want. Please also admire and respect all the wonderful people in this world who grind through their daily life doing awful unfulfilling work. There is nothing artful about it but they suffer through it just to be able to feed and shelter their family. Thank goodness this world is full of them making this world go round and caring for their family. Respectfully, I pray that your YT content doesn't get so boring or offensive or whatever that it stops bringing you the income to live as you do today...you may find yourself ungratefully working an unfulfilling job but allows you to feed your new child. I wish you all the best in 2022.

Hi! Really liked your video as always! All the best wishes for 2022 from the Netherlands :) My wife and I just welcomed our first baby into the world, and I noticed you put some kind of sprouts on your toast. I noticed because my wife loves sprouts a lot but she couldn't eat them during her pregnancy. Over here the advise for pregnant people is that they cannot eat sprouted vegetables of any kind when they are not heated though. They are more likely to contain dangerous bacteria like E.coli and salmonella. When you're pregnant your immune system is down, so it's actually dangerous to eat them. I don't want to tell you what to do, and decide for yourself if you want to do anything with this information, but I couldn't not tell you. Lots of love!!

I was German Shepherd raised and we were able to raise our son with a wonderful GSH also. It is just the every best is so many ways. Wooof Wooof to Lady F. She will be a 2nd Momma to the baby.

The Leberkuchen aka „Pfefferkuchen“ ( pepper cookies) look delicious. I love them with really big chunks of broken nuts in it. Forget the jam just go nuts with them and they’ll turn out perfectly imperfect . Ever heard of „Spekulatius“? Turns out to be the safe signal in any German Aldi to start your Christmas shopping (in August 😂). Damn Spekulatius

"How much she loves that ball." LMAO!!!!! That is the sound of my life too. Until he disembowels his toys....which is 3-6 hours after he meets them. His toy box is filled with flattened stuffed toys and balls that he's popped. Mind you, my Walter is TEN yrs old and still acts like a puppy. More than fine.....I savor every moment with a dog who is my heart and soul.

We are back aboard our boat for the next 6 months. It’s a great life but it is not for everyone. We love the freedom to explore new cultures as we travel about. It is hard work and a lifetime of preparation helps with challenges that come with life aboard. Sorry it was not for you.
