Lyrics:
Born In Dissonance
We are origin
We are increate
You will see our coming for a thousand years
Every violent element incarnate
Made flesh and fused to one
You may call us remnant, as we are all that will be left
Brought forth by ancient whisper
Deployed by inverse suns
To capture the essence of creation
And render it undone
We come to make all things collide
Those joules define what we are
An energy born in dissonance
Long before first ever star
Baptized in the river you call time
We know that we are sacred
In human tongue we're apocalypse
For we bring with us obliteration
Through spectacles tuned to infinity,
You will see our coming for a thousand years
You will know us then for what we truly are
The realization of every fear

Fucking. Yes.
Fucking. Aye.
Meshuggah influence in next Senpai EP?
+Private.Cain Sithu's always had Meshuggah influence in his music.
Daniel Ressler uhh well ok... I never expected a serious answer but thanks
All the artwork for Senpai EP II will have that Jens Kidman facial expression. You know the one I'm talking about.
When people ask what kind of music I like I send them a link to this song and they stop talking to me, I'm living the life
LOL amazing
Haha fuck em =)
I can relate
When people say they don't like "labels" in Metal (well, sometimes the subgenres people "make-up" are at times ridiculous), I say well; What if a friend or stranger said "I love Metal!", but what they like is Poison, Motley Crue, AC-DC, Sabbath and maybe Metallica and Pantera. And WE reply; "Hey! you may like Death, Cynic, Opeth and Meshuggah! :D" . . . . The 1st song they hear is THIS track, and they either want to strangle you, cringe like someone smacked their knee with a hammer, or . . . . you never hear from them again :P.
mvunit3 true but i hate how mainstream people believe Metallica = hardcore brutal metal shit.
Trust me, i have met people who believe metallica is the hardest shit around, and they are proud to hear something so heavy. They act like they have the right to mock people who listen to regional folk songs.
You merely adapted dissonance, i was born into it. Molded by it.
Is that a modified quote from the Dark Knight Rises when Bane brokes bats ass in the middle of the movie?
@@melkor8990 Yes lol
It is extremely painful.
Bane says, "darkness" not "dissonance" but either way it's a cool ass line.
*BLINDING*
When you are waiting for the breakdown then realize that Meshuggah's songs are breakdowns from the beginning to the end
Demiurge is literally a mosh song from beginning to end lmao. there is no "breakdown" or "heavy part" its just fucking ass kicking all the way.
@@nostrum7278 BECAUSE THEY HAIL FROM THE FROZEN, UNFORGIVING, FORSAKEN, AND UNRELENTING NORTH!!!!!!!!! \m/
nah theres a breakdown section thats heavier than the rest of the heavy song
The moment you realize this is the moment your officially a die hard fan
XD
Heavyyyyyyyyyy
Headbanging like a possessed, coked up woodpecker over here!
Look, it's Ola!
Dude your heavy! I love your music!
Hola Ola!
hi Ola
For anyone complaining this us recorded live. Now u may not understand what difference that makes sit back and think about it. Do u know how much work bands do to make their self sound better in studio? Most of it is produced to near perfection. Live metal album of this magnitude is absolutely nuts. Completely nuts.
Is***
What's your source? How do you know this is a live recording?
I just read the interview... this is their first live recorded album in 20 or more years. His words not mine.
Can you explain to me please what does recorded live means? thanks
It means as a band they sat around each other and played their parts at the same time while the recorder was on. You may not hear the exact tracks they used, but it isnt programmed to perfect PC time. it has the human timing element in it still to a certain degree.
Meshuggah is my neighbor's favorite band whether they like it or not.
Juve
Bruv, guess we have similar tastes in two things.
brutal..
I feel dis
Nice. Breaking this out when the neighbors start cranking the Tejano party music.
1:26-2:02 - Absolutely mind-blowing
Meshuggah may not be everyone's cup of tea but their is a reason why Rolling Stones called them the most important metal band today. Their influence has already(almost single handedly) started a another genre of metal. I will be honest, I didn't jump right away into them. It took time for my ears to mature and taste. Though, once I heard all of Catch 33, I knew just how important these guys were to metal. They are the art of Metal. Watching them live is like witnessing an event on par with watching Salvador Dali paint a piece or Nicola Tesla's demonstrations. An event that is all the rarer in this day in age. In my humble opinion, of course.
Totally agree mate, witnessing them live is a true spectacle, they sound unbelievably fuckin' good.
Word, couldn't agree more. Once I heard the album Nothing they have and still are what I believe to be one of the most influential bands of my lifetime.
I think Meshuggah along with Mastodon are definitely two of the most important bands right now.
you must heard what robert trujillo said about meshuggah, it just awesome.
Just one thing to point out...who gives a rats what the Rolling Stones think?
YES!

Oh god... my face hurts...
Does it still?
@@cannibalcurd7414 yes it does... 🥴
@@RabeaMassaad yeah, same. Your music does that too, by the way. Getcha pull, Bea.

Jens still belting it out at 50 years old, insane.
OxiClean jens is 50!!!???
52
@Gospel969 To me it sounds better. More low and crispy, better that the high scream of previous albums to me. And hearing Bleed and New Millenium Christ Cyanide with this lower voice makes those songs a lot more heavier and darker. It really fits a growler voice on a band that is continiously seeking for the lower pitch possible. On my humble opinion.
Now 54 :)
6 years after your comment and he's still belting them out... 💪💪
Damn almost 400,000 views in under 2 days. Metal is more popular now than ever. Fuck yeah everyone, high 5!
Up top
down low
Wtf is metal?
Metal used to be a chart topper...
nathaniel malmrose yeah.. I would have said Extreme Metal but I didn't want to get into all that sub-genre "gray area" mumbo jumbo.
The riff that starts at 1:25 is... I don't even know how to describe it. How is it even possible to come up with something like that? Amazing.
Descending half steps. Pretty simply in theory but so effective for creating a song that belongs at the climax of a sci fi movie
,,We are origin...''
Yeah, you really are.
Cats, Coffee & Guitars If they're Origin, I'm Steam.
…inverse suns…
"We know that we are sacred." Yeah, you really should.
That cover art is just as dope as the song. God I love this band.
Rami Malek being eaten by the art of Danzig III, how the gods kill. But it does look good.
There is no denying the impact of the entity that is Meshuggah. All hail the masters of groove.
Who the fuck cares, its just music. Shut up and just listen.
stfu christopher fox, learn to read. He only said Meshuggah's music grooves not that they are groove metal. All of your comments on this video are cringeworthy
All of my comments? I have made literally two.
Meshuggah is not djent
Djent is a genre trying hard to be Meshuggah without blatantly being Meshuggah
Having the lyrics posted really makes me appreciate Jens. Every band member is God tier, but I don't think Jens gets enough credit.
I think Thomas Haake writes the lyrics though
while i agree a lot of the members don't get acknowledge/recognized as much as they should tomas does write a good majority of the lyrics. that being said mr. haake is & will always b my favorite.
he is literally the face of meshuggah bro, legit, like all the memes are him doing the meshuggah face
It took me a couple of years to really accept it, but I think The Violent Sleep of Reason might just be Meshuggahs best album yet. Even after careers measured in decades they're still getting better and better. Mad respect.
Wouldn't say their best overall but this track and clockworks are easily two of their best tracks in the catalog
Chaosphere
Corridors of chameleons is still an all time favorite. Not to mention new millennium cyanide christ I'd on there
Chaosphere is back !!
Exactly what I thought. I'm in love with it.
Not as groovy or dark imo
I'm feeling more of a Destroy Erase Improve vibe. It's a lot more contained and sounds kinda similar.
To me it's like Chaosphere, Koloss and Obzen all mixed. The harmony and themes of Koloss mixed with the chugging and rhythmic approach of Chaosphere shoved together under an Obzen sound. Complete Meshuggah on all levels.
The solo was totally something out of Chaosphere.
One does not simply listen to Meshuggah without pulling the Meshuggah face.
😠😠😠😠😠
Trying not to do it on the bus as I type this
thanks, i just strained my face doing this for 60 seconds straight
😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
I was like huh? Then realized I was doing it lmao
See...the riff at 2:51...the way they build up to it....the sound of it...ain't nobody on this planet who can riff like these guys. Nobody. I've heard their whole library. The writing makes their riffs so strong that mountains would head bang if that were possible.
Actually I wrote this song with danny carey for Jens have a nice day
3:15 makes me go fucking wild lol.
@DracoVII same tbh
in fact i just had to replay that part and the subsequent section that the above commenter mentioned after seeing it here in the comments
@Ilf & Petrol will check M&M. Here Be Dragons is awesome.
The bass in the beginning tearing the literal space-time fabric of existence
Tears of djoy.
I don't think meshuggah entirely need any noticeable sound progression. Production sounds alot like chaosphere, especially guitar tones. I don't think people really know what they're asking for, if theyre complaining about non-progressive albums. State what you're expecting of a band that engineered an entirely new dimension of sonic and rhytmic art. I don't really think they need to answer to anyone, their albums are consistently top quality in terms of musicianship.
People just like to complain about anything. If it's not a 100% perfect album to their ears, oh suddenly the band is ruined. Plebs.
Vijay Jayant Totally agree! Love hearing classic Meshuggah but with a revamped production quality.
Quite right. It's a shallow criticism as well, especially since this is the only released song so far. Come october, these naysayers may change their mind.
The production sounds like a number of meshuggah albums if i'm being honest. But you are right, the riffs and guitar tone reek chaosphere. Nice master though, i must say
good 'musicianship' doesnt really speak for that much though. Kurt Cobain wasnt a great musician but an excellent song writer. Meshuggah have in the past been great song writers but personally im not feeling it in this song. Thats just me though
just beginning to listen to this band. They've a pretty unique riff style
Check out their whole discography, it's a gold mine
Oh, I wish I was you right now! You're in for a treat... EDIT this was three years ago. Verdict?? :)
They created a whole new genre so yeah they’re pretty unique. I would say that their one of the most important bands in modern music, whether you like metal or not.
2:51 seeing Meshuggah play this section of this song live in Gothenburg this year was the highlight of my year.
They're just the best fucking band in the world
This is literally the only song I've listened to all week.
Yup...30X a day at least might need an intervention....
same here
i alternate between this and a random born of osiris track because fuck you! 😍

Never really got into them but this song has made me a fan. Not overly complex. Just a straight forward ass kicking. The mixing is really good too. Sounds great on my 12' Alpines.
The production is crisp and clean…those heavy riffs just glide through your souls like a hot cutco knife through butter
See them live.
Listening to meshuggah is like playing a videogame for me .trying to mouth out the riff and memorize the timing in my head
It's a challenge to memorize the song, but that's part of the fun! I know the feels.

I'm getting a meshuggah tattoo later this year after i finish certification exams. Through all the studying, solitude, and lonely nights in the gym Meshuggah was there. Jen's Screaming empowering me throughout to push through despite the pain, despite the failure.
"I am life. I'm death. You belong to me
Call me what I am. I am colossus!!!"
3:11 !!!! The POWER!!! The setup of the last verse with the fill landing on 3 and the lyrics starting?!?!? Absolute power in its purest.
Meshuggah are my favorite band to workout to. I've done many weight training sessions, runs, bike rides, and snowboarding to their music. Not music to just sit around listening. Use their energy to push yourself. Meshuggah are fuel.
i cant understand how people are getting bored of meshuggah. this is by far the most original sound a metal band has created since metallica or slayer. every song they put out is a learning curve for all modern metal bands.
Well said
alot of it sounds the same, except for some of the first album and obzen
All of it sounds like Meshuggah but none of it is the same.
since metallica or slayer or... fear factory. Always remember what fear factory did when they released Demanufacture back then, the impact it had.
they true to their music.
Damn, this sounds like freaking Meshuggah. Who's the most consistent band ever?
I really do feel this is Meshuggah's best album. Can't stop listening to it. The energy, the riffs, the flawless timing, even the way the songs flow together
If you do not like this, you are wrong and need professional help.
Its pretty boring honestly. Its obviously trying to appease people who like really really heavy music. Nothing wrong with that at all, its called opinion, taste...whatever you want to call it. I like my metal to be more atmospheric and include more than just the generic sounds you know you'd hear in a normal metal track. Progressive metal is cool because there is such a variety among the artists but there are also ones that sound very similar and personally id put Meshuggah in that category.
+Cessna 182a meshuggah isn't a sell out band.. Also meshuggahs always been heavy so what the fuck are you talking about? Lol
Exoplanets I never said they were sellouts I said they are catering to a certain crowd. Nearly every artist does that.
+Cessna 182a I think they're doing exactly the opposite, actually. This is a band that created their own crowd, and an entire genre, because they refused to cater to anyone but their own genius.
fanboy
I like to imagine this is what Swedish special forces listen to on their way to "jobs"
Meshuggah are good. REAL GOOD !!! In fact, they have some of the most gooda goody good that's ever been gooded.
*god
lol well put
F'n sweet. Does anyone else especially love the end part (final 52 seconds from 3:40 on)? I love their pyrotechnics, but I also love when they let a song breathe with a patient, powerful conclusion like that... Ominous.
This whole record is mixed to perfection! Seriously that bass and guitar tone are fuckin evil! I fuckin love how heavy this band is!
This pleases me.
When the track so heavy it obliterates the comment section
You'd have to reeaaallllyyyyy hate Meshuggah to not headbang to this.
Or air drum.
I love them but I can't headbang because I broke my neck headbanging to them
or you have trouble finding that tempo
I can headbob. The tempo is wierd to full on headbang to me.
If you listen to the cymbal and snare it's fairly easy
MESHUGGAH DOESN'T NEED YOUR OPINIONS
vocals sounds like old school meshuggah, sweeetttt!
i'm not the one noticed that
Hida Root like Breed Feed Kill Repeat or whatever that album is called by Meshuggah
destroy erase improve you mean.
Mate Feed Kill Repeat is the first Slipknot demo album haha :')
I think he was combining the song Future Breed Machine with the album Destroy Erase Improve.
I listened to Meshuggah when working out at the gym, and people actually asked me if i'm doing ok. I said yea and gave my headphones to them for a minute so that they could listen to Meshuggah. And they understood and one girl asked the bands name and said she's gonna check it out.
Polymetric Lifting
It really does make me want to lift things like a madman.
Probably a good idea to marry that girl, bro.,
Baddest groove band ever.so heavy.like waves in the baltic sea. Sonically to heavy for metal. Thier like riddick' in there own universe.if each riff was a bomb. They killed all in its wake.
I love when Meshuggah is dancy! :D

This is what a blind astro-scientist can hear when he take look to a black hole with hubble.
What's cool about this song is that it never actually leaves 4/4, but you could swear it did.
ATTENTION ALL OTHER CURRENT AND FUTURE METAL BANDS: Good Luck!
This is meshuggah as raw as i ever heard them, I'm getting punched in the face by the entire band and I absolutely love the beating.
Well they did record the album live and not one instrument at a time.
MESHUGGAH FOREVER!!!!!!!!! These guys can never make a bad album or bad song!!!!
Meshuggah is like a floating forest fortress in the sky when it comes to rhythm.
If You listen real closely in the beginning of this song you can actually hear the bass (at least i can) and it sounds quite ominous.
So far, this is the best I've heard Jens' vocals sound: crisp and expressive. This band just keeps on getting better, personally and as a group...
I totally agree with the Chaosphere thing, too. They're very close, in terms of what I like...
For whatwe ter-u-ly are!
Love the way he articulates this...
Every time Meshuggah releases an album, take whatever your former favorite band's album was and hide it under your pillow so that you don't hurt its feelings.
So am I the only one that cries for happiness when listens to meshuggah? Like they are what I've looking for in music
MESHUGGAH IS THE BEST METAL BAND. IT'S A FACT NOT AN OPINION.
Regarding what they did, are still doing and for how long...Yes.

There is literally no other band with a sound as imposingly monolithic as Meshuggah. The scale is daunting.
The fact that we always evolve as humans and music, specially Metal, evolve as well, in 10 or 15 years from now, we might hear something even beyond from Meshuggah. Maybe MESHUGGAH does it.

Haven't had my jaw dropped by heavy music in about 8 years....Koloss was unreal...but this is absolutely crazy. has Destroy Erase/Chaosphere vibe, with about 1000lbs added. Pretty lost for words about the tones on this.

Love the sinister nature of both the song and the lyrics...
Everytime Jens says, "the realization of every fear" at the end then that haunting guitar whine by Fredrik gives me chills everytime.
Man Tom is so bad ass. Between all those ghost notes he fucking keeps on that high-hat or snare in 4/4 just for us to be able to head-bang at the same time. So badass man....Thank you.

One of the best songs they've ever done. PERIOD!!!!!
I don't know how much effort Meshuggah put into their lyrics. And maybe I'm over-interpreting. But I find this highly philosophic
I went to their concert in CT at the Oakdale Theater recently Dec. 12th 2023. I was in the mosh pit the entire concert.
