Gillie suit guy here. I've been playing for a month without getting killed, and last night, I almost got killed but I chose to run away instead of fighting. You got to pick your fights well.
I go from city to city ambushing people alongside roads and military bases. That's how I survive. I don't get spotted much because I always crouch and move from tree to tree, from bush to bush, even in the forest.

Honest question here. I've been looking all over and can't find a definitive answer. Got in a gunfight this morning and my ghillie cloak was ruined. I'm still wearing it atm, wanted to find out before I take it off. Is it still effective as camouflage even if it's ruined? I have a green one and need to know before I dump it. Thanks in advance 👍
hey, well yes it definitely still effective as camouflage. But once you take it off, you won't be able to put it back on. Same goes with any clothing that's ruined.

Been playing for a month without getting killed. I noticed that after a while, even if you aren't shot at, it gets worn, then ruined. I find them in the northern bases in Livonia.

My problem with the Ghillie is stealth I have been playing dayz for 3 years on xbox but I still get jumpy every time
That could be the render distance screwing you. Do you hide in open terrain with tall grass?

It’s quite funny, but after spending almost 2k hours in this game, I haven’t still managed to find the green one, only swampy. It’s quite sad, cause I love it the most. May be it doesn’t spawn on vanilla/public or semi servers?
It doesen't spawn anymore it use to spawn but only spawns in livonia now only way to get it in chernarus is on a modded server
