Sounds like I'll be going on a timer hunt. I found a couple bases I want to raid. Although, I've started trying to code raid first, since according to my calculations, it might be faster than finding the necessary explosives. I also tried some melee on walls, but it seems to take sooooo looooong. Edit: I've accessed 3 bases on official. I see I'll need explosives on servers with code locks, otherwise I face the potential of spending 36 full days cracking codes. I may test melee raiding if I start playing modded servers.
Melee sucks learn where they spawn and loot cycle i have one character now with about 18 plastics with that matters with him has never left Livonia quarry just gathers all day long😂
Finding plastic explosives is the hard part, I'm yet to find any, and I have been playing for a long bloody time now. Yes, I have searched it's spawn locations like construction sites and general industrial areas.

I thought so too,but the reason you can find them at construction buildings is bcuz sometimes construction reauired explosives in rare cases but still is technically realistic

If I was able to pick up the improvised explosive kit from the ground it means that it is disarmed right? I mean, I found a whole bunch of improvised explosive kits just laying in the floor with, with 2 c4s each.
Ive used a claymore and when you place it you get the remote detonator to explode it, once you blow it up its now called a remote detonator unit, can i use this?
@@growwise5618 It has not. Landmines have a risk of exploding during disarming. With the PE4 charges and IED kits, you're effectively disarming the fuse, not the catalyst.

So which is more powerful? The Plastic Explosive, or the plastic explosive container? Because if it takes so many grandes to destroy the gate, wont it take the same amount if you are using the container?

just tried this and holding the remote detonator i am not receiving the prompt shown at 2:43. that is after action placing the plastic explosive. any ideas?
This is a known bug. I've reported it to the Feedback Tracker. If your detonator kit is not ruined, it should work. I have found that if I keep moving the explosive and trying to arm it, it eventually works.
I have a detonator and a plastic explosive, both worn. When I place the plastic then hold the detonator towards it, I only see the option to pick up the explosive... I do notice that graphically the detonator has no wires... Any suggestions anyone? Does a used detonator show as 'ruined' or is it just that the wires no longer display maybe..?
As a last resort you can take your life into your own hands and end things if you are in a pinch take people out with you or if running from a foe drop it as you run and blow it up as you go and confuse a enemy as to your location and at a great distance you can use a tripwire to set it off if you are too far away.

Next I take out my tomato kitchen timer, set the time, looking at the IED it says add timer, or whatever, I get the animation and white ring, once the animation stops the timer is still in hand, the IED as no timer and is saying ready for timer.
Yea still no clue. Been raiding with guns and nades cause the stupid plastic explosive and containers won’t work. I arm the bomb but nothing happened. Arms and arms and arms but nothing happens 🙃
Once the remote detonator has been used, you can combine it with a screwdriver to get a 9v battery out of it.

Check the buildings in the Severograd quarry on Chernarus.
I have found 6 in the last few days - Christmas trees.

the item spawn is so wrong , remote control and explosif should find them in all military base only, the rest everywhere

PE4 is not a military grade explosive. It's used in demolition and excavation.

Yep I blew up disarming a landmine.
Its a thing for sure. I've personally had a 40%chance, no explosion with lockpick. 2 /5
According to the game's files and my own tests, there is no risk of accidental detonation when disarming IED's.

You can only use the detonator kits once. I know, it's annoying.

do smoke grenades and stun grenades make IEDs that explode or do they release corresponding smoke... as in can u use them to raid?

That’s a known bug with some placements. Keep trying to arm it and eventually it’ll work. It’s annoying and stressful during raids. I feel you.

In my experience, it takes between 5-6 grenades to destroy each wall.
You'd just be wasting your kit.

Can you use just protective case and electrical repair kit to make explosive or do you need put INSIDE the explosive?
That will create the kit with no catalyst.
