Thank you for watching our first Iceland video! This series is going to be a wild one :) We spent 2 weeks in Lou's cousin's military grade 4x4 Mercedes G-wagon. This van was the perfect vehicle for us to do van life in Iceland. It was completely offroad capable with 4wd which let us spend the majority of our trip overlanding. We crossed rivers. (Guys, river crossings are intense!) Drove through blizzards. And really tried to get off road in Iceland as much as possible (while actually still staying on the roads since it's illegal to go off the path in Iceland - gotta protect that moss!) What do you think about van life in Iceland? Is it worth facing the elements to see a landscape as incredible as this? I definitely think the answer is YES!
A big thank you also to Lou’s cousin Tim and his wife Rike for letting us borrow their g-wagon and return it to Germany for them (after 2 weeks of overlanding through Iceland of course!) And thanks to ORC for the incredible job they did with the van conversion.

For those of you wondering Gregor appears to have been modified by ORC (Off Road Centre) in Germany, they’re a company that make expedition and rally vehicles out of G Wagons. They’re website says they use the G-Professional chassis for these campers, which is the military grade G Wagon but the interior is definitely not from the G-Professional so that has had an upgrade as well.

Been to Iceland last week, covered completely in snow. Even when all snowed in it's magnificent! Seeing your guys' video makes me want to get back there and 4x4 cross country

10 minutes in and I’ve just realised I will need to rewatch this on the big TV! So many things I love, Iceland 🇮🇸, waterfalls and driving through water. Perfect 👌 (I’m so obsessed with driving through water that I go out in my VW Polo in heavy rain to find puddles to drive through 😂😂😂). Gregor is amazing but he doesn’t have the soul that Odi has. Stay happy xx

Can I say from someone who just found your videos thaaaaaat you got a girl wanting to move out to the wilderness and live in a damn Van. Take off roading trips in high powered vehicles, hike high peaks, stay in one of those brothies you found in Scotland. I pretty much want to do whatever you are doing, just imagine a tall black chick beside you in full gear no matter where you go....if that's not creepy, lol....Love your content, keep it coming.

So fun! but i am also i little sad because we ( my daughter and i) will suppose to flight from Portugal to Iceland the first of April, but with the Covid 19, all our flights had been canceled. Great adventure. I was cringing when the two of you hopped up on the hood of the vehicle to catch the sunset I think Tim must have as well.
Your way of life is amazing. I feel like this is how god intended for us to live. Anyway. Super inspirational. You are living a life that people dream of. I'm sure there are times when you question things and days are hard but I'm sure that passes quickly. I am seriously considering van life not as a permanent situation but a way to travel. The money spent on rentals and lodging would quickly be offset and the amazing places you can stay in a van. I am in awe of you guys. Keep it up. Be safe out there.

Hey guys i was waiting for you to make a video.
I don’t know why when you were crossing the river it remained me of the time me and my family went camping we’re arabs so we camp in the desert in the winter anyway there was this one time where we were just having fun then all of a sudden a huge storm came and completely obliterated our camp but we managed to make it out safely but we also had to drive really carefully because the water was so deep that any mistake could mean disaster and my cousin’s car was stuck so we had to leave it and get it back in the morning it was a Cadillac Escalade so it was no trouble but the car that was serious trouble was my car an Audi A5 coupe it was kind of a low rider so it was stuck and we thought we had to leave it but some guys came to help us and thank god for them and another thing the current was really strong super cold I still have nightmares thinking about it.
Ps: it was back in late November, early December last year but I consider it to one of the scariest days of my entire life
What an amazing vehicule ! But please respect this expansive mechanics :o The way you start it at 5:32 hurt me so bad ! And as you said you should go slower crossing rivers, even if it's really tuff german build a motors full of water is never a good thing

not wanting to be taken as a negative comment but that vehicle is more than capable for the roads you are using and i do mean very capable, only time you should have to deflate tyres is if your on sand or since your in iceland any surface that is similar to sand, but me personally i would wait until i felt a lot of tyre slip before taking up site seeing time with deflating/inflating tyres. other than that glad to see you out there again. have fun

Awesome vids guy...but a humble comment. The river crossing looked really easy. I loved that you checked it though. My Mazda bt 50 easily does water to the bonnet. The G should monster that.
