Welcome to the second video in our Iceland Offroading Series! This video is day two exploring Laki in Lou's cousin's military grade 4x4 Mercedes G-wagon. I'm so happy we got to explore this beautiful country in such an incredible machine. This van is completely offroad capable with 4wd which meant we could climb mountains, do river crossings, and even manage our way through a crazy blizzard. Our focus of the trip was to get off road in Iceland as much as possible (while actually still staying on the roads since it's illegal to go off the path in Iceland - gotta protect that moss!) Traveling to Iceland turned out to be one of most memorable trips we've ever had, and I'm so excited to share more off-roading adventures in the coming weeks!
Also, I just want to say a big thank you also to Lou’s cousin Tim and his wife Rike for letting us borrow their G-Wagon and return it to Germany for them (after 2 weeks of overlanding through Iceland of course!) And thanks to ORC for the incredible job they did with the van conversion.

Well....it is and will remain a dream for very much of us to cruise in a vehicle like this , the last one I saw for sale was a Mercedes G 290 diesel 95 bhp 40 year's old for $$ 54.0000 !!! And Gregor is a 100.000€++ vehicle ,,,,😉👍

Careful with the choice of words. Off-roading is really going off-track and in Iceland it's forbidden by law and should not be encouraged. You're obviously following the tracks so thank you for that respect! beautiful trip you guys had!
Good observation, I was going to comment on the same as I watched this fearing they were going to go off-road but thankfully they did not. Respectful tourists :)

Really cool to see! I'm building a mercedes 310 4x4 into a campervan, and plan to head to Iceland as well. I've been there before with a car and tent and that was amazing but i wasnt really able to go too far out of the ringroad

you are such a beautiful personality! The most beautiful moment in the video for me was when Lou said we were increasing the tire pressure and you lit up and said cool you showed me how to do it. Many would have answered, are you doing it quickly?

11:21 Nice video, to be honest I wouldn't bother about the tire pressure and just run a set PSI all the way (I mean you don't need a very big footprint for such 'easy' off-road. I mean it is easy for this truck). If you really would like to lower and higher the pressure maybe look for a pump which plugs in a 12 volt socket.
Other then that keep up the good videos, would love to see more of your Iceland trip.

Nice video! No wonder the Laki area is breathtaking, it's the scene of the most lethal eruption in historic times, the 1783 Laki eruption. It's estimated to have killed between 1 and 6 million people world wide, including quarter of the population here in Iceland. I suggest you Google it...

That is NOT a van!
It is a very expensive, commercially manufactured camping module fitted onto a blinged up G model military off road vehicle.
A bog standard 4x4 should have coped with that route, and indeed many do just that as hire vehicles.
To portray this as something other than as a comfortable, risk free holiday is simply false!
Shame you're trading a life on the road for a family. Soon you won't even have the choice.
