      That’s what they get paid for and it’s a good thing they do. While I don’t think card counting is cheating these techniques are and imagine being at a casino and going on a run to have them hold paying you out because someone else cheated

      This is exactly the problem with the video though because there's no jeopardy.
      This would never work in a real casino because of the 'eye in the sky' and there's no risk.

      @@MrSamrchds I guess he could approach casinos and offer his services to "test" their security people by trying the switch in a live setting (and get paid to do it), which means he could get "caught", but otherwise that's really as far as he should take this. I'd be shocked if the card shufflers at casinos didn't check that the cards going in are the same cards going out and activate an alert to security the moment a wrong card is detected, including the extra card so that people who've had that in their hand could have their hands rewound

    I think if I were in a situation where I were trying this, and the dealer was in on it, it wonder if it would be beneficial or riskier to do something like signal the dealer you're gonna switch, and have them make some minor-but-obvious procedural error right before/after.
    One one hand, it could possibly distract the security folks, and they not notice your switch. Or it could also be something that would make them pay more attention to that moment at the table as a whole and be MORE likely to spot you.
    Sidenote, I think it'd be funny to catch someone doing this because they switched cards from different decks. Like say they palmed an Ace from a red deck shoe, but play it out on a blue deck shoe if the casino swapped them for whatever reason.

    • @stevenbridges
      @stevenbridges  Рік тому +34

      You know funnily enough they DID sometimes use a card from a different deck and the dealer be in on it!
      So the dealer would scoop the cards, covering the back and then add them to the discard. It would take a few minutes before the card was ‘discovered’ and by then the cheat would be long gone

    • @Zak-jt6nk
      @Zak-jt6nk Рік тому

      It would be impossible to do this as you'd need a hand shuffled pitch game which is pretty rare these days except in high limit even then it's rare and surveillance watches those games like a hawk any non hand shuffle game would realize a card is missing or there is too many of a card as soon as it hits the shuffler and the dealer would get in big shit for that.

    You’ll have to be incredibly careful in casinos after this. It’s one thing to be backed off from counting cards, but if you’re recognized by a corrupt enough floor, they may try planting cards on you when confronting you for a “back off”, then try and bring cheating charges against you. Some of the casinos you’ve dealt with in the past, I could see them pulling some shady bullocks like that. Great content though, friend.

I'd rather have it palmed on the table anyways or just your hands natural and "grab down" from time to time as if you are pulling your pants. When you palm like this, loosen the forefinger and the middle finger slightly apart, like you're almost pointing a little, and relax the thumb. Your whole hand looks a lot more relaxed and natural and you'll focus your grip towards your pinky, meaning it's a lot less likely to flash there. No one ever catches a flash between the fingers.
    Eyes just don't see things that way. You could loosen it so much that the card is visible between your fingers and no one would ever see it.
    When you have that down and natural feeling, then close any gap so that a camera won't pick it up if they're really looking for it.

    All AP’s know that you can’t use any of these techniques in the casino. For mucking, the dealer will yell at you to only handle the cards with one hand.

      @@stevenbridges is a one hand muck theoretically possible - palmed card, check cards, then pickup cards sliding your palmed card between them as you get them, and put down the two good cards keeping a new one palmed? I think a way to get a more authentic reaction from the security would be to actually pretend you had a real game going and that you are employing them as security to make sure everythings fair ! that way they will be acting as they would in a real life environment !

    1. Never wear a black shirt because it contrasts the color of the cards making it more difficult to conceal the cards.
    2. After placing the ace and when retracting your hand with the non-ace card, do not immediately go to your lap. Try placing the card-holding hand under your armpit or on the opposing side's elbow.

    Right after the first switch, you moved back quite a bit. Big and rapid motion catches the eyes attention. :)
    And maybe wearing longer sleeves would help too, as brightness also pulls more focus.
    I bet if you watch this in fast forward, you would move a lot more than the others.
    From above the face is not visible, but if they saw the cameras from the front, I'd say you had quite the serious face compared to other players :)
    Making it seem casual is probably the toughest part.
    Fun series. Hope you can convince a casino to try this for real - to test their security.. ;D

    I know nothing about blackjack, but it seems they should make everybody keep both hands on/over the table so they can’t retrieve cards from pockets, etc. If players had to keep both palms down on the felt during play except for looking at their cards with one hand only, it would seem to solve a lot of problems. Need to reach beneath the table more or less than you need/want to play? Player’s choice.
    But - as I said - I don’t know what I’m talking about. 🤷🏼‍♂️🙂
