Watching the dev streams I actually picked up an interesting little thing: you can pull out the various bushes/berries/harvest patches out of the way for your construction purposes, and replant them at another location.
That is an awesome feature
@@kylemackinnon6230 Yeah so far its looking like this is just the base game and they have much more planned to add in. Plus its mod friendly so there will be all those to have fun with.
Really? :O
How can you pull out bushes though? Is it an option on the bush or a command for the villager?
@@EeelectricFeel It was a slight confusion from one of the dev streams, maybe it was possible on their build I dunno, but it's not possible on the client atm. You can only harvest them manually with workers besides the (automated) gathering job. Or you can just clear them out.
Blueberry bushes can be moved. Click the blueberry bush and the yellow move icon will be in the upper right corner. If it hasn't been harvested it'll still harvestable after the move. Takes 5 labor.
40:35 awesome how the ducks/geese fly over in close-up and you also see their shadows on the ground.
18:42 Actually, laundry dries fine in frosty weather.
I love this farming system. So detailed! You can actually have a rotation of nitrogen fixation, cover crop and staple crop. Amazing.
One of my fave of playing such games is to watch things happen in a close up. I wish you zoomed in more.
Watching the villagers forage, hunt, fish, build, etc in a close up shot is very relaxing.
When the game gets mod support it will be even more amazing.
Was impressed with the notion of composting toilet refuse for fertilizer. Certainly, if it was truly, "Composted" it wouldn't need to be so far from town. Old myths die hard. Night soil and compost are 2 very different things.
8:49 The hook on that lady. Quite the pugilist.
Right 🤣🤣🤣 In one shot too lmao
Randomly, wouldn't it be a good idea to stagger the downtime on your crop fields? That way you don't have them all out for a whole year. Not sure if this has been mentioned, I didn't see anything.
Honestly i always despise the "school/market/hospital can only effect houses within its range", thing. As an avid city builder, it always pigeon holds housing location planning into being forced around the structures.
Which isnt even realistic in the first place. If a peasant lives 10,000 meters from a hospital, they're still gonna go to it.. considering its the only one in the entire village. Actually having to come up with an answer and solution to the hospital not having enough beds, or the school not having enough books, would be engaging and interesting. Much more so than "oh well, guess ill build a second one where the circles overlap". Like in EVERY other city builder in existence.
Maybe it would be better if the desirability worked on a sliding scale, getting less the further away from the building. Then you could overlap some other buildings to increase desirability without having to make set zones for houses etc.
As a real estate agent I can confirm that proximity to those amenities definitely affects the desirability of a property.
BTW you can set a minimum for the goods in the tradingpost. Next to the button [Transfer items] you see a smal square with a red circle. Click on it and the tradingpost will keep that product in stock. And the traders always seems to visit early spring I noticed. 🤘😎
47:30 we’ve unlocked fire arrows!
Raptor and this game were made for each other. This is going to be so good!
I'm so looking forward to having a jam at this amazing game. Your gameplay walk through is very helpful thank you.
Love your Vids Brother Rock On
I don't have a PC powerful enough to play this game but I have watching it and want to play it.
Loving the game, loving the episodes. GLORY TO RAPTORIA
All I want is a game that starts like this, and then turns into modern city building as you progress through the tiers
in the meantime it would be fun to see someone start a save in one of these games and then replicate the town layout in a different game thats a modern city builder like cities skylines
One / some / maybe even all of the Tropico games have similar mechanics, I just can't remember which off the top of my head
I really look forward to this game. Only thing I really want to see are actual reseouces being carried visually.
I was working and listening....started laughing at the Bob Ross comment....lol subscribed.
That comment about the compost guy running for mayor made me chuckle. Loved that little reference. Great gameplay
This games looks really nice and relaxing !
Thanks to your video im going to insta buy this on Aug 9th. This is a no brainer for me :D
Definitely a game I'd be into. Looks great!
The pacing seems so nice, other games of the genre have been either too slow or too fast for me
I noticed that too. Banished just seemed like it took forever to get anything done even with mods. This seems to flow at a pace most people think at.
@@nonaurbizniz7440 Yeah, the urge to speed up time in Banished was insane, killed the game for me
@@matheustheo2010 meanwhile I'm over here playing Ostriv on the slowest speed watching them build log by log...
REally enjoyed the first episode. Back for more. Glory to Raptoria!
I've been desperate for a game to scratch my Frostpunk itch and I think I have found it. Totally getting this on release.
this game looks sooo good i can not wait!!
2ed ep LET GOOOOOOOOOOO
Seem legit nice game.. already on my wishlist i love this kind of game cant wait to play
Villagers sure move fast when stuff is chasing them *evil smile*
Congratulations 🎉 on your 1m
Been watching you for years and this seems like the perfect game for you!
Really enjoying this series, Thumbs up

I'm curious, have you played Cities:skylines? If so, what do you think of it?
idk if that " all well and good" joke while you were building the well was intentional, but i loved it!!
It has a feel of ages of empire.
Looks amazing!!! I've been looking for a game to replace Banished, and this looks like the one.
You sound so much like SideStrafe and it makes me smile. Good stuff Brodie :)
in the future, you might want to offset your maintenance years so you have a crop going at all times.
This game reminds me of Forest Village, but way better.
You can send citizens to explore. I saw it in some other people playing!
love this game
Hi nice gameplay , superb game.
GLORY TO RAPTORIA :)
Awesome game love it .
That your parents can say they walked up hills to get to school joke hit right😂😂😂
I wonder is there is fishing boats and various ships
Man, they really pulled that Ox out of their bumbum huh? I wonder how complex this game can get.
My man, love your content, and I have to say, you sound a lot like Jerry Seinfeld, I mean almost exactly like him.
Keep up the great content, loving this new game!
The season transitions are cool but unless I'm mistaken, the season timeline is broken down into 12 months and starts with January (seems right, at the end of December it says it was a new year). But it started snowing in early November and melted already at the end of December and the foliage was immediately green lol. Would just need some tweaking, like having brown/no foliage in spring/fall; overall it looks very nice.
No, the year starts from March 🙄 for some reason lol
Wow so looking forward!
Reminds me of Anno 1602
Has anyone ever noticed that all the people are running all the time?
Ya I have it's kinda wierd I guess they really hate their old king trying to expand faster then him lol
@@skyupgaming1437 Haha! You could be right
They like to go super fast Boi lol
Hm I would've started with a hunter's hut and maybe fishing - these foods are readily available and require only basic tools to do. Farming takes a lot of time.
How did you build up your economy so quickly? Was it the market or trading post?
you actually can add extra farmer by plan adding extra plot but not actualy working on it
the farmer that actually signed to te plot will work on helping orther plot
Also as I say this I realized it was uploaded a day ago but you have uploaded your live streams and some other stuff so just curious
I would love to see a desert playthrough, Lil more of a Challenge..
I get a feeling the cart mechanic is really important and nobody uses it... Any thoughts?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Forager you wanted to build by the farms is actually a hunter?
Yup, spotted that too :D
i like how you said 4 gold was spendy then proceeded to buy a decoration that cost 15 gold 😂🤣😂
Emergency town meeting
I wish someone made a game where workers can make unions, and if you abuse them or underpay them they organize revolution and throw you out of town so you either have to start all over again or put down rebelion with an army or the police...
So the first couple I watched of this there was different bases and is th livee steams on this base
This looks so good, can't wait for the release next month. Any idea what the price point is?
$29.99 is what I've been hearing
@@geoffbaumbach5313 That would be a good price point (for me at least). Thx for the info.
Do the Deer or wildlife nodes disappear over time if you over hunt them?
hey man, great video ! how is the military aspect of the game ? like an age of empire or more like northgard?
Just have barracks, that's all. You build the weapons and armor in the specialized buildings. Hire guys in the barracks and point them with a flag. It's annoying you can't easily find them unless you use that flag. You can move each military individually though. But not as easy like in northgard or AOE.
Nice
looks pretty sweet. dum question, but what time period is this set in and what part of the country does it take place?
Which country do you mean?
@@Goldenhawk583 Was trying to find out the time period and location settings of this game. You can pick locations?
@@mtstans You can pick a type of landscape. As far as time period, I guess medieval describes it best:)
Any time without electricity would be similar, lol.
Is this game do have trading features?
So when are you uploading episode 3 of this one I enjoyed the first two and the live streams are too long for me to watch cause of work but also i don’t see this map on the live stream so that’s why I’m asking for episode 3
On the farms, can you not use the "work" option in the winter??
No, the ground is frozen so it can't be worked
I see bendy and diagonal roads but all your buildings are on a grid. Is this how it works or can you build along the other roads.
So far you can have curvy roads but only square grid!
Is this an Anno mod or something?
Is there any game like this with a multiplayer? I've never played a settlement survivor before but I love the idea of chilling in pacifist mode. I'd play it in single player but my girlfriend and I would burn hours and hours in a co-op mode with something like this. Is there any likelihood at all that this game would support a co-op mode at some point down the line?
There is Kingdoms and Castles which has multiplayer. It does have a more cartoons blocky style, but the idea is the same.
I cant See brutal or hardcore what a..... Headline
I bought the game about a year ago, played a bit then refunded it. Wish I could remember why, it's looking great.
Maybe I should watch some old Let's Plays from back then, maybe that will remind me. Otherwise, it looks like I'll at least be buying/trying this again, lol.
no potato?
What's the name of Raptor's discord?
Does anyone know if this has 32:9 support?
norm game?
"We're getting 12 gold per year.."
Yeah but like... Where's that gold coming from? Who's mining and refining it into bars? If the villagers were just secretly stashing that somewhere... Or magically poofing some into existence, why bother even building the stuff? Just hire the next town to build thy town. XD
Comes from taxes on improved peoples homes 😏
@@LArt3D You missed what I was saying entirely. Where are the gold mines? Wood has to be processed to be usable... so where is the gold that seemingly the peasants all have?
@@12Prophet there are gold mines, but you'll need Foundry (tier 3) to process and make gold $$... So I guess maybe they are not in all maps, but I've been playing (rn) on Alpine valleys and there r several gold mines around. I guess if you don't have that resource (Gold mine) you have to concentrate on what resources you have and do heavy trading and also improve homes, as the taxes come from there.
Banished with better graphics.
bruh the game isn't out yet, I'm hyped but I'll probably move on before it releases. This type of too early showcases kills my hype
hmm.... style is cool, but seen this games more toward fighting balance on 'chart', maybe need more things like crop growing stages, moving of goods, moving goods in town make games more playable for long period. see how neburazza, factorio, oxygen not included? moving things (wagon?), people love seeing slowly staking pile of goods make more play time. Instead of wolf attack, maybe farm animal mess in town, neighbour fighting, neighbour dog bite my chicken kind of stuff when getting crowded, and move out from settlement etc...?
I've a few questions:
If stone runs out, can you build a stone pit / quarry or may even take stone from the mountain and where do the villagers take their gold and all the tools from, why do the wolves not attack in packs, why is there no carpenter, wouldn't the game be more enjoyable if seasons woul last longer, how does the market manage to get all those goods you aren't producing (a traveling trader that comes by every few months would be great)?
If stone runs out, you HAVE to buy it, period. Do not trade your stone unless you live around tons of rocks. Wolves will ONLY attack when they see a human, so wandering close to their dent is for sure, the more wolves see you the more number will attack at once. Trading merchants come once a year in spring only and a couple at a time which also overlaps often with village raids which can be annoying. Have to prepare what you want to sell upfront.
I trying to understand the historical era, but then I just thought why not an Elder Scrolls Themes survival builder?!
How can i get this game ?
Its going into Early Access on Steam on the 9th or 10th of this month
feels like the crop rotation will be annoying/waste of time and not fun to micro manage all the time
If you set it up correctly you don't have to micro manage it
UA-cam compression ruins the videos :(
What's the twitch link? the one in "about" says last streamed years ago
I'd get into this game but you never do a complete play threw.
The performance issues are pretty ugly. Will they be fixed @CEWill?
Does this game require a NASA PC?
Please enable higher video quality. Barley unwatchable on 1080.
This.
*Watchable
All the people running around, always in the state of hurry, makes the game feel uncomfortable. We want the romantic feeling like when we're watching fantasy medieval movies.
I think it really adds to the sense of constant survival
@@quintvandenheuvel895 you've got a point, it's really a hardcore life for those villagers
This game isn’t as fun as banished
Too slow game
