It’s such an amazing video I came across awhile black and was just blown away by it. I can’t imagine the amount of rehearsal, # of takes, vomit. It kind of reminds me of a broadway movie called Noises Off - such an amazing display of precision and timing! Worth a watch.
Most of their music is actually fantastic. The reason it might not always hit is that these guys are always, constantly experimenting with something and finding out where they want to go next, and their creative process is actually very interesting if you go look up their interviews, podcasts and such. Personally, my favorite album of theirs is Of The Blue Color of the Sky, but Hungry Ghosts is good too. And if you want to react to more of their videos, I think their most impressive ones are White Knuckles (from the fact that they did a choreography with a bunch of rescue dogs and a goat, and it’s all one shot), The One Moment, This Too Shall Path (the Rube Goldberg one although the band version is fun too) and Needing/Getting. They also did a concert for Tiny Desk while the channel was moving everything so you’re gonna see these guys perform a set while the Tiny Desk guys move to a new building. By the way, if I recall correctly, this video took 6 reshoots. Which means every time the paint was cleaned up and everything done all over again. “Everything” as in, doing the up and down thing. Speaking of, the song was split in sections of 25 seconds where every time the plane lifted up it went upwards for 25 seconds and they shot the corresponding segment, then everybody would freeze for the time it took the plane to go back down, and then the music and choreography would resume. One of the guys was so sick of it by the sixth shot that he even contemplated leaving the band 😭 because it looks like fun, but actually the process this specific plane is used for is used to train astronauts to resist being in space. Because I mean, human bodies aren’t built for zero gravity after all. And these guys put themselves through this thing that goes against human nature for a video made in chunks of 25 seconds! But yeah. Ok Go are absolute artists. And they are real artists willing to go where they need to go for art, even if it takes them to absurd, insane places like in this video. Matter of fact, they have an entire project (a UA-cam channel too) entirely devoted to researching, sharing and collaborating with everyone willing to do something towards a creative goal. They are the real ones.

It's actually the lead singer Julian Kulash's sister, Trish, who choreographs most, if not all of their videos. It's pretty neat!
Those planes are called vomit-comets.
Their music videos are A-tier with great music as to boot!
The last scene was 8 takes in 3 different planes (they cleaned up)
