OK Go has some of the most inventive videos out there, they are almost always done practically (for real, not CGI) and they continually one-up themselves. Some of the ideas they have done in other videos: Zero Gravity (Upside Down & Inside Out) 4.2 seconds slowed down (The One Moment) Playing instruments with a car (Needing/Getting) Using printers to change backgrounds (Obsession) Rube Goldberg Machine (This Too Shall Pass)
I believe they really did it, but for practical reasons, they did it in a much more slower pace in real time, then sped up the video to synch with the music. It removes none of the glamour though because that is an insane amount of coordination, practice, and organization. Their craziest video to me is "Upside down and Inside out" where they literally filmed in a zero-gravity environment from a plane.
I respect your reactions so much. You've got some interesting observations and eloquent points and I love that you each bring your own expertise and preferred phone OS. 😉
The inspiration for this music video was the Busby Berkely musicals from the 30s and 40s. These were huge and elaborately choreographed numbers some with hundreds of performers. Think those synchronized swimming scenes from old movies. Ok Go wanted to do a modern version and I think they nailed it! Good vid, thanks!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! A wonderful christmas song - Diana Ankudinova & Brandon Stone (piano) - What a Wonderful World Queen of Goosebumps - Diana received such a title for her extraordinary unique voice. Also among Diana's best works are covers of Derniere Danse, Wicked Game, Can't Help Falling in You. Each of these speeches garnered over a thousand reactions.
Awesome reaction to a (literally) incredible music video. You guys have such great insight and appreciation that it inspires my own. Keep doing what you're doing! 🙏
I teach kindergarten in South Korea, and out of every OKGO song I play my kids, this is their absolute favourite. Every kid in the class starts bending their neck and singing along, every time. As for wanting everyone to clap and shout "Yeah, we did it!" at the end - Watch the video for "The Writing's On The Wall" in which they literally do exactly that.
This single and music video came out in 2014. The Beijing Olympics were in 2008. Unless the Chinese have developed time travel technology, it would be very difficult for them to find inspiration in something that was developed, filmed and released six years later.
@@mulrich Thank you, but that doesn’t change the fact that I wouldn’t have been surprised, since I didn’t know the dates then. I didn’t think they had time travel, I just didn’t know which was first. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was inspired by (or bit) the opening ceremony, then :P
Very real... And an homage to Busby Berkeley movies ... Or similar that were big in 1930s Hollywood... That might be an interesting thing for you guys to react to if there are some uploads... Crazy "top down" choreography
Apparently this was done in one shot as they had been hanging around for days with too much rain and the sun poked out literally at the last moment before they had to leave (japan). They kept the girls counting in the song cause it sounded cool but everyone was counting cause it was shot in half speed then sped up, crazy effect. love these guys.
Yes! It is very real. OK Go is renowned for their surreal music videos. They're very very creative.

Great band and great reaction!
They have collaborated with the best in the business
7:48 Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if China’s Olympic opening ceremony was directly inspired by (or bit) off of this video.

They do one with stop motion which lasted several days. Amazing dedication to the craft!

those ladies are quite famous in their home country, so i've heard. wish i knew what they were saying
I believe I heard it was their counting from rehearsals
"ABC" was Jackson 5
One shot with a drone and probably months of planning and practice.
