    By the way: Muehle or Mühle means "mill" or "windmill", which is why they use a windmill for trademark.
    Great review, thank you for sharing.

    Even all these years later, this is a really helpful review as I look at this watch as my next potential piece. Thanks Zach, I wonder has this watch survived in your collection after all this time.

    the rubber bumper and round shape are not just to protect the watch, they were part of the design parameter of having no sharp edges to be safer for the people being rescued

    I finally got mine and love it but the newer model does not have the sweet metal box, just the typical style which was a bummer.

    I wished they had added an inside moveable bezel. The golden hour is as important for sea rescue as for the “normal”rescue service!

    I have this watch bought new in 2022 and the only differences are the crown is no longer polished and instead of 1000 M it has 100 ATM on the dial also the white line around the date has gone. other than that it's unchanged. Its very cool and very different to anything else out there. Mine runs about +4 seconds per day.

    I fall in love with that watch! By reading comparising reviews in some watch magazines Mühle watches compare to much more expensive ones, like Omega, Tudor, IWC.

      Dimitrios Athanasiou Mühle is totally underrated and more common on luxury Yachts... good speced yacht mostly have “Mühle Nautische Instrumente” instruments onboard

    Just bought this off Drop.
    New to this watch thing but there is something extremely... Excuse the pun... Timeless about this straight forward, no frills design.
    Look forward to actually having it.

    I purchased mine nearly four years ago, also from DROP. I just started wearing it three weeks ago and it has been very precise, but overall, it is a little too much "tool watch" for my taste. The watch shown here must be an older model because the buckle on mine is a much-improved version: milled, not stamped, and spring locked vs. friction.

    I like your review and I would like to tell you my experience: I recently purchased a new M1-41-03-MB MUHLE GLASHUTTE SAR RESCUE TIMER from a local distributor in San Francisco (there are only two authorized dealers in the city.) I was looking for a rugged watch that I could wear every day (my old Junghans Mega Solar finally failed and it cannot be fixed even by the manufacturer.) I like my new watch and I’ve been wearing it daily except that I must rewind it every 5 to 7 days or it will stop overnight. I am very disappointed. It is a good looking watch and it keeps the correct time. I am waiting for the manufacturer to get back to me since it is still within the 24 month manufacturer warranty.

    • @Chrissepisje
      @Chrissepisje 7 років тому +2

      Mind you, it's quite the departure from a Solar watch, er?
      Rather than a warranty / technical issue, you might be dealing with you not moving your arms enough. If the watch doesn't exhibit the need to re-wind when you shake your arm vigorously a number of times a day, you know you're too inert for an automatic. I don't know how active you are or if you wear that thing during sports, but I suggest you do. :)

      I enjoy winding my watches, it’s an excuse to handle it and serves as a nice zen like break from what ever else is going in.

    It has a strange similarity to the Vostok Amphibia NVCH-30. I have one and the lugs here (not swing lugs but similar look) and the dial look quite a bit like the NVCH-30. I like it.

    • @schlooonginator1227
      @schlooonginator1227 3 роки тому

    • @almac9203
      @almac9203 2 роки тому

      @@bettersteps if it was made of titanium it would likely make it too expensive for the search and rescue teams that use them. This is a real tool used by actual marine search and rescue teams so it has to be affordable. I guess they could make a titanium version for desk divers.

    • @almac9203
      @almac9203 2 роки тому

      @@bettersteps yeah but a $4,000 watch would likely be beyond the budget of real military personnel. JLC made a Navy Seals watch that cost over $12k so it was a military watch in name only as no military units would ever wear such an expensive watch. At least this watch is actually worn by real military people which is kinda cool. I agree that this watch made of light scratch resistant grade 5 titanium would be cool but the price would be expensive. An internal rotating dive bezel would also be cool since it is waterproof to 1000m.

      There is a heck of a lot of skilled human watchmaking in every Muhle Glashutte watch, and all their watches are so good I find them almost addictive, or, at least, mesmerising. The back story about the Muhle family is all totally true, and the company is one of the very few watchmaking businesses still entirely owned by the founding family.
      The value-for-money of any Muhle Glashutte watch is undeniable. Buy, without hesitation, but preferably on the grey market, by which means the value-for-money is up to doubled.
      Bliss...

    How difficult is it to go to google translate, enter a brand name, choose the respective language, click on the speaker icon and listen to how it’s pronounced before doing a video?
    Having said that, nice review! 🙂
