    I’m happy to stick with the old model Peter. It’s a beast of a watch. Besides with that decreased water resistance halved, well I’ll have to half fill in my bath tub!🤣

    The SAR Rescue Timer is not aviable in Norway, so I got mine on a bracelet by trawling through Munchen while on holliday. Apart from the clasp, I find my "old" version superior to this one having a cleaner dial. Getting rid of the cyclops is a great upgrade though (and one I actually asked Muhle about). This is a watch I've grown to love wearing every day. Had a stop at the Rolex-store @Schipool 6 months ago and had a look at their watches and tried them on (display models). I you look past the economics of reselling a Rolex frankly preffered mine. Even more fun, the very helpful person in the store found handling a Muhle Glashutte far more exiting than anything he had on display.

    I love all the Muhle Glasshüte but that's a perfect package I typically hate 4 o'clock crown position but the proportions are just right on this new one.

      What about lhd? It’s typically a love/hate situation with zero grey area but I’ve been converted based off several factors.

    The original is my favourite watch in terms of design. It's just the watch language that speaks to me.
    With the increased cost on this i think they should have offered more in terms of micro adjustments and magnetic resistance. I've magnetized my original 3 times so it's very prone to it.

    • @michaelcollins2473
      @michaelcollins2473 Рік тому +1

      I did not know that.......I have a demagnetizer, probably wouldn't hurt to use it.

      The SAR 1000 IS VERY NICE WATCH , very comfortable, but one hit to the walls at the stairs and the rubber bezel got badly scratched and can not be buffed out like steel 😢

    After two years of yearning, and wondering whether to go titanium or steel, I just bought the Rescue timer. Much cleaner, less fastidious, dial. Sized, (boy, did I ever sweat that, cutting the rubber, segment by segment, until the watch fit loosely) it sits gorgeously on my wrist. The ultimate nautical tool watch!

    Love the watch and love the reviews the Original SAR is still for me but I think a lot of people will appreciate the sleeker profile and dial lay out of this one.

    Similar to Sinn but have their own design aesthetic and clearly nautical vs pilot

    Well done Peter. Another fine review. I like how you mentioned it would be better if they built in some more fine adjustments in the clasp. My wrist will expand and contract depending on heat or cold over 5mm in range. I would love clasps that could accommodate my wrist size changes.

    I've no personal experience with this particular watch, but all Muhle Glashutte watches that I have seen are top quality tools. Between this one and my SAR Rescue Timer, I think I still prefer the SAR. I do think making the date display bigger was a good idea. Those dimensions are just a little too big for my personal tastes.

    This is indeed a very nice watch Pete. I have the SAR full lume cream dial, and I absolutely love it. My only dislike is the clasp's lack of adjustability. I ultimately hope that Muhle Glashütte offers a clasp with on-the-fly adjustability. For me, that will make the SAR absolutely perfect. This new version is lovely, but I'm sticking to its predecessor. How about you?
