There is a pun in the german title of twilight because Bis with one s means Until making the title until twilight or something and biss with two s (bc there’s one a little faded s) means bite so bite at twilight because ya know vamps
MY GOD WITH THE INDONISIAN COVER!!! Like excuse me?! Why does it looks like a stained glass from Notre Dame? It's SO ellegant and beautiful and everything is right on that cover! Got obsessed with it!!! 😍😍😍✨
Jesse *earnestly* requesting people to hire him as a neck model was my highlight of the day. PS - the covers of the international editions of Twilight has left me even more traumatized than the books itself
The black and white for night circus is important bc everything IN said circus is black and white- and attenders occasionally wear red if they're like super fans. Hence the colors on the covers being mostly those colors.
I love seeing the different editions from around the world! Finland used the Swedish cover for TFIOS and I was very confused when I saw it the first time, after already having read the book in English 😅
I live in the UK this is the first time I've seen some of the UK editions in the video. A few of the us covers are the same in the Uk like the twilight covers, fault in our stars and night circus.
I actually like the vintage Night Circus with the Jesse triggering font 😂 Rather than vintage books, it reminds me of vintage cartoons that I used to watch like the animated Pink Panther show.
Yes, Indonesian covers are stunning! You should check Indonesian cover of The Poppy War, Once Upon a Broken Heart, Strange the Dreamers, We Hunt the Flame, Renegades, To Kill a Kingdom, These Violent Delights, The Song of Achilles/Circe, Blade Breaker, and newest edition of Rick Riordan's books... they are masterpieces! 😍
Here are my suggestions for the next episode: 1)Any Victoria Schwab book (Bulgarian editions are stunning) 2) Any Rick Riordan book 3) Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes (please, roast the Bulgarian edition, because it needs to be roasted) 😅 5) Any Karen McManus book (especially One of us is Lying) That’s all from me 😅😊
I love the Japanese cover of the fault in our Stars I love the manga vibes that I got from it I would love to have a fault in our Stars manga or graphic novel please please please I would love that
Isnt the Night Circus described as black and white and red? Or am I tripping? Edit 1: Oh and I 100% did not order The Night Circus from the UK to Canada just for their nicer looking edition… actually yes I did. Edit 2: how dare you point out the edition text at the bottom I never noticed that.
yes that indonesian cover of the cruel prince actually had me on chokehold bc of how gorgeous it was!! you should check out the indonesian version of once upon a broken heart and the ballad of never after, i have both on my hands already and i still can't believe i get to hold something so beautiful in my life 😂
The first 2 UK editions, I've never seen in my life and I'm from the UK. I once owned the US edition of Twilight but I own the Vintage Classic The Night Circus with the black white and red theme, with the red spine. It's simple, but I think it's one of the prettiest covers I own. It's gorgeous, as Jesse expressed, and I also think the Vintage Magic cover makes me very uncomfortable. Some of the international covers are very beautiful but some are very strange. The Chinese The Fault in Our Stars cover is gorgeous! However, I was disappointed with the book because I thought I'd cry with how much everyone said it destroyed them, but I just didn't really care all that much which is a shame because I really hoped I'd like it. The Indonesian cover for The Cruel Prince is also beautiful, as is the Russian cover. They're stunning! I really love these videos, I always look forward to watching them ❤
I definitely understand the urge to want that last TFIOS cover. There's something about a truly WTF cover that makes it strangely compelling. I'm currently resisting the urge to buy one I saw the other day while browsing Amazon. And it's not anywhere near as bad. (The Master and Margarita, with an incredibly cute cartoony cat on it.)
The amount of covers you collected for this video is amazing 😀😀 Please say something about the cover changes of Spin the dawn or Six crimson cranes (both by Elizabeth Lim). Some of them are breathtaking, some just hurt my feelings 😅
No kidding, when the Stephenie-made Twilight cover came on screen I had just taken a sip of my tea and nearly spat it out. HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?!
Maybe take a look at the german covers for the Iron Fey series. I love the story and that we have it completely translated but the covers are… interesting. (Also the titles? „Summer Night“, „Fall Night“, „Winter Night“ and „Spring Night“ why??)
Oh I love the night circus so much 😊 thank you for showing all the covers. Your favorites were also my favorites, as well as the one with the hand on the cover
I love the unhinged-ness of these videos XD I've yet to read Night Circus (definitely on the TBR), but a lot of these covers make me want to read more, and just collect the pretty covers. Also I'm here for the Twilight cover that looks like "Wizard of Oz meets Stephen King" XD But dang, Cruel Prince got served some gorgeous covers across the board! Just... these videos are always such a solid reminder of HOW IMPORTANT GOOD COVERS ARE (a rant I could go on forever) XD
Holy cow, those Twilight covers. I sometimes wonder if reading a book with covers like these have an effect on how the story hits for the reader. Like do they feel like they're reading a sexy or adventurous or thorny book, just based on the cover? 🤔
Okay, so I do have some info on the Swedish edition, if you're interested. The title in Swedish is "Förr eller Senare Exploderar Jag", which translates to "Sooner or later, I'll explode." I mean... it explains some of the elements, but I can't tell you the rest.
Lol. The texture on the Neck edition of Twilight (don't remember which country it was) looks like maybe they took a photo of a painting. That's definitely the texture of a canvas there.
Hello! I hope you all have a great day as well! Thanks to your intro I've realised that I am really in a very happy palace right now and I wanna say to everyone "be brave!" Dark times are not forever, take your time, everything is going to be good again! I'm sending all my love to you all! Lots of huuugs and thank you, Jesse, you made the day even better with the upload!! ❤️💛❤️💛❤️
There's a bunch of comments already, so forgive me if this is a repeat: The Swedish version of Fault isn't named the same as everywhere else in the world, apparently. I might be a little off (I know norwegian, not swedish, but they're super similar in a lot of ways), but I think it's "Sooner or Later, I'll Explode." Which makes the cover art make more sense, but makes the change a little...baffling. :)
To comment about the Thai cover for Twilight I think it actually fits. The series is somewhat suggestive because of the passionate romance between Bella and Edward but of course not overly sexual because of Stephanie Meyer's Mormon beliefs. To quote Kennie J.D. in one of her videos on one of the later movies "Be a hoe, but make it holy" honestly sums it up pretty well
Episode 3! Yay! This series has made me check on Goodreads for covers of other countries' editions of Japanese novels, too! It’s another really fun way to enjoy books! 😆💚 And, glad you like the Japanese edition of TFIOS! I like this cover, too!
I love your Videos! And yes some of our German Book Cover are ... different :D My little Recommands would be The Bone Ship - The Tide Child Trilogy from RJ Barker Stormdancer from Jay Kristoff Inheritance Trilogy 1: Eragon from Christopher Paolini aaand Ferno the Fire Dragon from Adam Blade Yes I'am a mostly Fantasy Reader :D
My favourite thing in a long time is the confidently referenced *Cirque du Lait* (rather than Soleil). I would visit the Milk Circus 😄 Also LOVE this video and concept!
The german twilight books actually have a pun in the title. Bis zum morgengrauen means "until dawn" translated with the bis meaning until but they put a second s to make it biss which translates to bite
My copy of "the fault in our stars" is in spanish and is exactly like the american version: the blue background with the black and white clouds (i'm from mexico, btw) 😅
this episode was great! hahaha twilight and tfios covers remind us of that era. and I LOVE MY ERA. but yes, the twilight covers had human models and that tfios skull brought death in our hearts WHOAA HAHAHAH
You forgot the Japanese Twilight editions! Along with their MSpaint looking anime covers, they got creative new titles such as "Whom I Loved was a Vampire" and "Give me a Cold Kiss"
The Swedish cover of TFIOS was actually what made me buy the book and binge read it in like five hours straight. I’d seen the US cover beforehand and that cover hadn’t made me want to pick up the book at all.
You should read the Spanish love Deception as I’m interested to hear your thoughts on it. The book has MANY mixed opinions, and personally, it wasn’t terrible, but it is famous for a certain line that is laughably bad.😂
I'm from the UK and I have never seen that cover of twilight in my life cuz wtf is that 😭😭also I'm in love with the German twilight its giving dark academia, intellectual, classics like omg
How you feel about the Indonesian cover of The Cruel Prince is how I feel about the Polish covers of The Stormlight Archive and the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. I want those covers on my English text book. Why can’t we custom order stuff like that?
I only ever had the US versions of Twilight, I have legitimately never seen a UK cover in any of my local book stores (I’m a born and raised Brit and I didn’t even know there was a different cover)
How? How did you manage to surprise me for the third time? After you showed the last cover I knew that there was no Bulgarian edition and hop - an audio book... Still waiting for the Bulgarian covers of V. E. Shwab's books and Arc of the Scythe. Also Skyward hard covers are wooden in Bulgaria. Oh and Pierce Brown books are so bad.. so here you go
special topics in calamity physics by marisha pessl and a tale for the time being by ruth ozeki their original covers are so pretty but the newer editions fall flat in comparison
please please please take a look at the swedish version of the secret history! i need your reaction XD also other swedish covers to look at would be circe, red white and royal blue, book lovers and the summer i turned pretty.
regarding the Swedish edition of the fault in our stars, the title in Swedish is "sooner or later I'll explode", which makes the cover make more sense (I don't like it though)

Like sadly because I read it after the movie was released I could just see movie covers and it was a pain in the a** getting the original cover, where were you all my life? 🥺 I really liked it :3 I also loved the purple Twilight, it gave me The arabian nights vibes, it has nothing in common but I loved it ✨
There is a pun in the german title of twilight because Bis with one s means Until making the title until twilight or something and biss with two s (bc there’s one a little faded s) means bite so bite at twilight because ya know vamps
I also noticed that, and laughed so hard.
Hey, that's cool.
I don't know any German, so I completely missed it. Thanks for mentioning it.

Plot twist. Those covers were to turn people off from reading that book😮
The black and white for night circus is important bc everything IN said circus is black and white- and attenders occasionally wear red if they're like super fans. Hence the colors on the covers being mostly those colors.
I was looking for this comment! Yes, this.
You could do a whole video on international Harry Potter covers.
YES Omg there are sooo many gorgeous book covers around the globe 😄 I need him to react to all of them 🙏
I love seeing the different editions from around the world! Finland used the Swedish cover for TFIOS and I was very confused when I saw it the first time, after already having read the book in English 😅
8:44 Idk how to explain the satisfaction hearing that being said so fast gave me, but props to Jesse!!! 😍✨

The Survivors series by Erin Hunter,
Reckless by Cornelia Funke.
Here are my suggestions for the next episode:
1)Any Victoria Schwab book (Bulgarian editions are stunning)

next you should review bookish designs, illustration, fanarts or fanedits!
Do the every day series from david levithan. (Only suggesting that becaus i love the german cover xD)
yes that indonesian cover of the cruel prince actually had me on chokehold bc of how gorgeous it was!! you should check out the indonesian version of once upon a broken heart and the ballad of never after, i have both on my hands already and i still can't believe i get to hold something so beautiful in my life 😂

Didn't expect to see the Georgian edition of the Night Circus!
Samee, I had to do a double take😅
Jesse, I love this series, every time there's a new one I smile. Thanks for being you:)

Oh I love the night circus so much 😊 thank you for showing all the covers. Your favorites were also my favorites, as well as the one with the hand on the cover
I love cover comparisons! It's so funny to see German editions in your videos lol (I'm german-speaking)

what kinda mood would that british cover put you in i wonder
Ngl the German twilight cover makes Twilight look ✨classy✨

The Swedish title had me dead 💀 “sooner or later, I’ll explode” like who thought of that 🥸
I had to see if the cover on 6:15 was real. 😳
There's a bunch of comments already, so forgive me if this is a repeat: The Swedish version of Fault isn't named the same as everywhere else in the world, apparently. I might be a little off (I know norwegian, not swedish, but they're super similar in a lot of ways), but I think it's "Sooner or Later, I'll Explode."

You should look at the empress of flames by Mimi Yu. The cover it was originally supposed to be vs the cover that it is now… its really tragic
Episode 3! Yay! This series has made me check on Goodreads for covers of other countries' editions of Japanese novels, too!
It’s another really fun way to enjoy books! 😆💚
And, glad you like the Japanese edition of TFIOS! I like this cover, too!
Hey Jesse I’m having a really hard time at home right now. But this video brought me so much comfort and joy thank you 😊
Another italian cover that I never, ever, saw as an italian! Where are these covers coming from? :D
Love your videos!
This is so cathartic to watch. im so glad im not the only one icked by typeface and looove harmonious covers.
I love your Videos! And yes some of our German Book Cover are ... different :D
My little Recommands would be
The Bone Ship - The Tide Child Trilogy from RJ Barker
Stormdancer from Jay Kristoff
Inheritance Trilogy 1: Eragon from Christopher Paolini

No, I'm with you on the stacked name thing. I was literally thinking the exact same thing before you said it
Fun video! Thanks! Also, I may have missed this, but did you take all the dust jackets off your books? What did you do with them?
My copy of "the fault in our stars" is in spanish and is exactly like the american version: the blue background with the black and white clouds (i'm from mexico, btw) 😅
this episode was great! hahaha twilight and tfios covers remind us of that era. and I LOVE MY ERA. but yes, the twilight covers had human models and that tfios skull brought death in our hearts WHOAA HAHAHAH
Really would like you to do carry on series covers there are so many good international ones
“Blink twice if you need help!” Had me dying
i LOVE these types of video!!! i was having a rough day, and this just made it a lot better :)) thank you!!
the korean cover of twilight is so cool 😊 reminds me of anime, also the french cover of twilight is so pretty
This was so entertaining!!! Thanks Jesse!
I love this concept, find it so fun ! ^^
I love when you upload!
12:35 that edition of tfios is giving historical fiction, definitely not YA contemporary
Is it even a Jesse video if it doesn't have a chaotic intro? *violent mug tapping ensues*
You should read the Spanish love Deception as I’m interested to hear your thoughts on it. The book has MANY mixed opinions, and personally, it wasn’t terrible, but it is famous for a certain line that is laughably bad.😂
OMG YES, THE KING OF READING IS BACK.
I'm from the UK and I have never seen that cover of twilight in my life cuz wtf is that 😭😭also I'm in love with the German twilight its giving dark academia, intellectual, classics like omg
I think u should check the editions for Winger and also Shadow and Bone personally
More book cover videos like this please ❤️📚
How you feel about the Indonesian cover of The Cruel Prince is how I feel about the Polish covers of The Stormlight Archive and the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. I want those covers on my English text book. Why can’t we custom order stuff like that?
I only ever had the US versions of Twilight, I have legitimately never seen a UK cover in any of my local book stores (I’m a born and raised Brit and I didn’t even know there was a different cover)
12:01 The scene style actually has made a comeback!! I’m a scene kid myself XD
15:48 The I in Prince also looks like a sword.
Oh and Pierce Brown books are so bad.. so here you go
About to go to work but had to have my Jesse fix before I left. Great video!!
special topics in calamity physics by marisha pessl and a tale for the time being by ruth ozeki their original covers are so pretty but the newer editions fall flat in comparison
The Dutch Night Circus cover made me think of Kaz Brekker for some reason - and while that’s probably not what they want, but I’m not mad about it
Hey Jesse I love your editing, can you tell me which app you use?
thanks! i use final cut pro.
please please please take a look at the swedish version of the secret history! i need your reaction XD
also other swedish covers to look at would be circe, red white and royal blue, book lovers and the summer i turned pretty.
regarding the Swedish edition of the fault in our stars, the title in Swedish is "sooner or later I'll explode", which makes the cover make more sense (I don't like it though)
My favorite cover of The Night Circus is actually the Japanese one! It's really beautiful and ethereal.
Hey! I'm Indonesian and i couldn't find the indonesian version of the cruel prince so i had to read it in english, which is not my first language😭 and now you tell me ther IS an indonesian version with THAT GOOD of a cover? I'm crying rn😭
*How fast do you read books? How many pages per minute?*
The Persian Night Circus makes me think of Addie LaRue
(Speaking of, Addie LaRue would be a great book for other covers - I especially love the Dutch one)
for me it made me immediately think of "the perks of being a wallflower" lol
Now watching his last video and this one in one rush, I 've realized that Jesse it's great at roasting, but covers 🤣 it was so fun, honestly! ✨
The fault in our stars takes me back to Jesse's first video! ❤🎉🎉
While I personally prefer the US cover to the Swedish cover (am Swedish), I do love that all of the Swedish editions of John Green's books kind of go together - because they're all equally busy 😉
Also reason for the grenade is that the Swedish title is not a translation of "The Fault in Our Stars", but a part of the line "I'm a grenade and at some point I'm going to blow up and I would like to minimize the casualties, okay?" from the book
Yess, the fact that the Swedish title is "Sooner or later I'm gonna explode" threw me off
Jesse, we got Emo Robert in The Batman 🦹🏻♂️
Actually John Green loves the swedish edition. Look it up. And the title is not a direct translation. For some reason it’s called ”sooner or later I will explode”. Hence the granade I guess.
lemme tell you jesse, your bookshelf is most definitely NOT LACKING BOOKS
Lol there is an emo version of Rob Pat it's his Batman 😅 appreciated the giggles this brought me just now as the chronic pain is a bit much today.
Absolutely loved this video . My book slump is an all time high right now so it's great comfort seeing this type of video topic . Never judge a book by its cover but damn those book covers be looking fine❤😂.
I'm working a lot on my laptop for my assignments so the issue of the perfect font comes up often .😅 I definitely have a few pet peeves in relation to fonts so thank you Jesse for making me feel normal about it❤.
About the twilight covers ... Honestly Stephanie Meyer 's original cover before the US edition came out represents the state of my preparation for exams 😂😢 and wtf was the last one 😮 i nearly closed my phone because of that .
The Indonesian covers are winning the game ❤
Definitely agree , the Arabic edition of TFIOS is a bit spoilery but maybe it's because it's obvious to us who knows the story by heart . The original cover will always be my number one because of the sheer nostalgia. It's such an iconic cover ❤. The Chinese edition and the Japanese edition are my favourite ones too❤.
“What in the Ed Hardy?!” I am literally deceased. 💀😂
lmao and satisfying... sometimes you just could stop wondering where is that cover of the book coming from
i had and rea that portuguese edition xD i think it had a dustjacket too. either that was the dust jacket and under was the normal usa cover or the contrary cant remember. its so weird tho bc pt books are always paperback but for some reason sometimes theres was dust jackets for it too xD like hex hall book. a lot of our pt editions are soo badd like the lunar chronicles. brazil does really pretty collector editions of some books tho. i got the br editions of acotar books and some shadowhunters books soo pretty.
"When are we getting the debut of emo Robert Pattinson?"
*The batman has entered the chat*
Ngl I always liked the German twilight cover. It makes the book look way more classy than it is. And the pun in the tile is funny
I actually love that Russian edition of the night circus!
Fun fact! Since the style you called Anime was done on the Korean cover, its likely manhwa! Essentially the korean equivalent of manga!
You have no idea every time I see Indonesia's Twilight cover in my bookstore and I went "oooh, what's this pretty thing? Oh it's Twilight."
Guess my homework can wait for a bit longer...
Where that spanish cover had been? Like sadly because I read it after the movie was released I could just see movie covers and it was a pain in the a** getting the original cover, where were you all my life? 🥺 I really liked it :3
I also loved the purple Twilight, it gave me The arabian nights vibes, it has nothing in common but I loved it ✨
if you did vlogs reading the twilight series, i'd watch the heck out of them js
