Thank you for keeping this really straightforward. I've been wanting to annotate my favorite books and possibly some first-time reads, but every video I've seen loses me in the first couple minutes. They either say to just write whatever you want or show off all the boxes of stationery supplies they have and it doesn't really help me personally.

Sentence structure and stylistic devices are really important. In folk tales and epics (critical editions of these texts in particular), I have noticed shifts and evolutions/devolutions in the way passages are constructed and noting these changes can give so much more information, context, clarity and enjoyment in the reading.
I've been trying to wrap my head around annotating for a while, I've watched many videos. I appreciate that you avoid going deep into all of the choices of pens, post-its, tabs, and just get into the how and why of annotating. Thank you!
