I remember this when it came out originally, it could be bit of a mixed bag at times but it was refreshing to have these kinds of done-in-one stories at a time when so many of the other books were tied up in long-winded multi book crossover events
yes, that is the way I look at it. I love done-in-1 books, that was my kind of story back in the 60s and 70s. I have no problems with multiple (year) crossovers though, just prefer the more short story form. It was a mixed bag but some pleasurable stories and some great fillers in between the Ditko tales
Been sitting on the fence wondering about buying that one. As for Fred Hembeck, there are two collections Andrew, one is a softcover Hembeck Omnibus of his earlier work put out by Image, and there's also the "Marvel Universe According to Hembeck" book too. I've got the "Superior Foes' hardback fortunately - brilliantly funny comic, I snapped that up as soon as it came out, just a shame it ended.
Love Hembeck, have a few books with his work. As to the Superior foes, yes, an omni I would love to see come back into print (but I doubt it will happen) or if I see it at a comic mart at a decent price, I will buy it. Enjoyed reading that as it came out but for some reason, a really funny, superb series
Loved this series it was a breath of fresh"vintage" air during the crazy clone timed..got it with the latest reprint..now i m waiting for the reprint os Amazing 1 to read them concurrently!)))
Yes, they are always tricky to know. Sometimes done well and sometimes not so great. I'm always sold by an untold tales book, every character could have stacks of volumes devoted to those early years though sometimes a little too much retrofitting characters / villains that would never have existed in the SA comics
@@AndrewBuckleBookReviews very good point! I think this book will definitely stay on the wishlist, may be a matter of timing for me :) Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks for the review my friend.

Yes, the fresh vintage ... was not into the clone storyline but each to their own on that one
I really love the concept of this book. I’ve been hesitant to invest but it does look solid
