Hey. Long video even though I said I'd make shorter ones...well here we are. Anyway, I am well aware that my "review" process of every machine isn't perfect. I wish I could have gone into more detail but if I did that then this video wouldn't even be 50% done. I am happy with this result though. If you have a different opinion on anything then please feel free to leave a comment. I read them all. For more custom machines I also recommend checking out Custom-R: www.youtube.com/@custom-r Also something you may notice is that I used less F-Zero remixes and covers in this video. It is getting increasingly diffiult to find new music which I like, fits the vibe of the video and is something I am allowed to use. We all know F-Zero isn't as big as other games so there simply isn't that much out there compared to TloZ for example. Next months video is the last for the year and its going to be a very short and simple one (for real this time). I'll see 'ya then. Have a good one o/
It's possible to create machines called Great Star and Red Bull, which to my knowledge are the only ones that share their names with official in-game machines. (EDIT: Except for Fire Ball, of course, which is mentioned in the video)
My cousin and I were fascinated with named custom machines back in 2004 haha. Though we didn't have much patience and only discovered a handful. I used the Fantasista all the time, and he loved the Dragoon. Thanks for sharing some commentary on each and every one of these, I thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Loved seeing this as someone who's interested in custom machine usage, I'll share this video everywhere I can! Lots of different kinds of challenges and easy but fun sessions to tackle from just these machines alone!
I believe Hard Banger is used specifically for Cosmo Terminal-Trident Max Speed Fast Lap records. Its high weight allows for more speed gained with shift boosts, and its low acceleration means it retains that speed better. Edit: Actually, Hard Banger was used for the current Cosmo Terminal-Trident Max Speed WR. CTT just happens to be the perfect track for Hard Banger since it features no real tight corners.
A really good video, thank you for taking the time to go through all these machines! One thing that really annoys me about GX in general is that several custom parts, all in gold in this video, are seemingly unnatenable in the base game. I really wanted to create the "Gladiator" from your recommendation but can't due to the fact that the gold parts are, stupidly, inaccessible. 😫
My favorite custom machine back in the day (I've lost my gamecube since then) was the Gladiator setup, but with a different cockpit. I think the name was "Fire Legion GX" or something like that. IMO, it's also the coolest looking combination of those parts. Thanks for this video, it took me back. I played the game so much when I was younger and I never realized that there were certain machines with cool names.
Yes, every yellow/gold part is exclusive to special AX related events but they can be unlocked through cheats. I recommend this guide to unlocking them if you're interested: crazygamenerd.web.fc2.com/FZGX_SP_Machines.html
@@Link-Zero I’m not using cheat devices or anything like that. If there was an in-game button code to unlock them in the shop like the alt. music for Mute City and Big Blue (Which can also be unlocked through the Diamond Cup on Master Class), or by beating all Time Attack Staff Ghosts (which probably doesn’t unlock anything) I would do those methods
As an absolute casual (who still beat F-Zero GX 100% back in the days) I used a mashine similar to the Gargoyle: Funny Swallow, Bright Spear, but as a booster: Triple Z Nice speed and maneuverability! Try it for yourself! but thanks for the detailled coverage
It should be noted that the parts in yellow text are only accessible in the NTSC version via the Action Replay. And unless you own an AR, I wouldn't recommend resetting game data.
So i still haven't tinkered much, but my fav i made is "Frost Spear" using Aqua Goose, Bright Spear, & Juipter -Q. Looks kinda like a starfox arwing. It accelerates & turns good, but has a lower top speed. I just love it though. I can win most content with it.
So turns out every machine me & my cousin built have TRASH speed. Barely reaching 1,000 But turn smooth as butter. Huh.. i’ma have to step up my game. Get some faster stuff!

1:51 how do you get all the parts like you win all the racetracks? (I want that!!)
I remember discovering the King Neptune. I remember not enjoying how heavy it was, but this made me feel a lot better about it.

I think some of those parts are exclusive to the Japanese version by using a special F-Zero license card in F-Zero AX.

Gladiator is easily the best. Looks cool and handles very well.

I was always a fan of the Eliminator. A great machine that looks awesome too.

What? the Spicy Crab is not a pre-named machine?
What about "Fire Legion"?
Body
Fire Wolf
Cockpit
Super Lynx
Booster
Boxer 2C
Anybody know how to unlock the maximum star cockpit ?
Cheat codes. It's the only way.
@@custom-r Even if you unlock all on dolphin, a few machine parts are missing, including maximum star
@@custom-r oh I know you! I subscribed to your channel last year, glad you're still active
@@noxyu2806 The code worked fine for me.
i thought there was a machine called "Zenith" as well.
Probably my memory screwing me over.
22:55 I used to main this thing as a kid... You aren't wrong about the "unusable" comment. What was I thinking?
