"Even if the game has never changed, you personalised the game yourself." this is a really nice summary of why "every copy is personalised" is such a strong phrase to me. To me it's never been about lore, or an AI, or anything like that. It's about the fuzzy thoughts of possibilities and dreams filling in the gaps in my real memories, making those hoaxes and rumours and B3313 itself feel so familiar yet so alien.. like I might have been there before in a dream, or in my false memories. Nice video, great work
Mario 64 was a safe space for me as a child, my childhood was tough so i do remember just playing all day to evade my own reality. As an adult now playing b3133 was a healing experience for me, It helped me come to terms with myself and face all the shit I went through because it allowed me to clarify and see in more depth all those memories of nostalgia reliving them through b3313 removing that pink color and allowing me to see all the shit I went through and why i blocked all those memories in my mind B3313 is not really deep, it knows how to play with one's memories but the experience that each one lives with this hackrom is what gives it that touch, that vibe of mystery and fear, without any specific dialogue I was able to confront myself and face all the traumas that i lived and decided to ignore for all this time. Even after having remembered all the things I experienced, I can still look fondly on Mario 64 and everything that helped me during my childhood. So I want to thank all the people who had a part in the creation of this hackrom. Thanks for such a wonderful job Thank you so much for everything.
I remember playing through all of this just wrapped up in a blanket with my girlfriend she just watch with me as I just ramble on about how weird the game felt i loved the game a lot.
I was lucky enough to have played this back in the day through my best friend. It was really a game that sparked imagination on every level. I will be playing this rom, if not for anything else just to remember how early gaming used to be, without all the completionism, the achievements and the optimizations. Just pure fun and exploration.
Glad you are checking out the mod! I think while there are games that have the exploration aspect (Yume Nikki), I have never seen it done in a true platformer. Hope you enjoy it!
@@gentlemangamerec7025 Just one more suggestion since i have heard people praise it and i have had fun with it is a romhack called "Elise64" which is basically the story of a young girl trapped in a dream. Its a cool little hack and also people say it contains similarities with yume nikki in its concept so definitely check it out as its almost all exploration/story plot with basically almost no difficulty or platforming involved.
I think the most powerful part of the game was when I was in one of the wet dry world levels, and I went over the metal fence gate thing that takes you down to the town, only to be teleported to a new level. The walk though the long tunnel as the big town slowly being more visible Through the orange fog as the dry town track played. And then this very somber track, with the droning of the Jolly Roger bay melody as the underground motif repeated on loop, only broken up with a unique bridging melody that sounds vaguely like it belonged, combined with the allusion of wet dry world’s town being represented by this big empty town with weird rainbow ride connections. It creates one of the most vivid experiences in this rom hack I haven’t forgotten after a year. It made such a sad feeling for the stage without any of the horror elements typically found, it truly carried a emotionally negative aura
Everyone's upset about the Forest Maze mistake but here I am more concerned about the game at 9:42 being labeled as "Waverace 64" I don't know what that game is but it's NOT Wave Race, lol.
That was beautiful. The skilled and intriguing dissection of everything throughout the video had my attention in an iron grip. It almost felt like a tour through hazy history, and in the best way. In short, the three words I would describe this masterpiece with are intelligent, inticing, and succinct. You should feel extremely proud. Well fucking done.
leg of lonk forrest maize stupid fun poking aside i loved this analysis so much i really want to play b3313 again whenever its big update comes the eel graveyard and dry town tracks awaken something indescribable in the mind for me
That footage of the mall and heartaches playing reminded me of a caretaker fan project video, which used the exact same mall footage. It is called something along the lines of "I'll keep holding on visual edition". The song and visuals fit so well together to create a distant nostalgic feeling.
Even if I become popular, I just want to make videos that either make people happy, or give them a new perspective on a game or whatever. Thank you for the encouragement!
15:25 ooooh that got me blood boiling Jokes aside this video was really good! Not nearly enough people have played this fantastic hack My favourite track has to be the one that plays you find peach in that cell
You might have a chance to use Project 64 (I don't personally like it, but it is an alternative). From there you can just drag and drop the file and it should run.
@@gentlemangamerec7025 nah i droped it and i get a blank error screen. runs the z64 file though. Edit: (parallel just downloaded after 15 failed attempts dont know why, thank you for helping!!)
My guess is to make yoshi talk, they coded in a bob-omb and made it invisible so that you could be "talking" to Yoshi. The same thing happens with a bunch of other NPC's in the game. It is weird tho
Hey! I used DaVinci Resolve (the paid studio edition), and it was built in for me to use. I used a bit of warping feature built into the features and warped the screen to look like an old CRT. If you want to find similar effects online, there are some good ones, but I found the built in one more helpful.
Hey everyone! If you want a possible sequel to this video, check my most recent community post! Thank you!

15:25 This is from Mario RPG’s forest maze, none the less, good video!

I was gonna say the same thing

i'd say this channel deserves more love, because even just 7 minutes in its a great video thus far, big w.

you need way more subs man, love this type of stuff.
I appreciate it! Thanks for commenting!
What a great video ! Really surprised by the fact that you only got 68 subs ! Keep it up!
When I started watching I didn’t even know that the video had commentary I just thought that was the whole entire video
Awesome video. And what a stirring way to end!
Thank you for watching!

Damn you only have 38 subs I thought from a vid of this quality you'd have at least a few thousand good job
Joel and Vinny also got me into the mod
Soon as Vinny saw ghost mario and went "no" and then spent hours trying to recreate it
I knew I had to try it
Its gonna be a long trip to getting a lot of subscribers and beocoming popular, good luck!

wonderful video, fabulous rom, cheers my man !
How tf do you only have 183 sub? You deserve more!
"There are three or four hubs in total."
Try, like, fifteen.
15:25 you are wrong, that is the Super Mario RPG - Forest Maze
Hey, at 15:26 or so, that's not "The Legend of Zelda's Forest Maze," that's from Super Mario RPG for the SNES!
Yup I messed that up. Anything in the SM64 Soundfont can make me forget the true song. Thanks though!
speaking about music sky high pathway is my favorite in the ost
Forest Maze is from Mario RPG
Thanks for the correction!

Yeah, I actually had more footage for that part but it unfortunately got lost. I really love the large sprawling desert level near the sub-basement.
You sir. Deserve more subs.
Thank you!
it's been 4 months, but you straight up said "the legend of zelda's forest maze" and then played super mario rpg music
for shame
I am the realest Legend of Zelda Fan! I haven't played a single game! Nor Super Mario RPG!
please don't kidnap my family
Really good video! I’m subbin
15:25 WHAT
Yeah it's a mistake. The sound font threw me off.
Amazing video
Thank you!
Awesome video but that is Mario rpg forest maze my good sir
Oh, I still remember this.
I have failed
never went to malls or used tick tock
Why is everyone focused on the music mistake... Like half of the comments point it out
I never played Mario RPG. Guess people took offense to that.
Forest Maze isn't from Zelda. It's from Super Mario RPG.
When you said zelda forest music you mesnt super mario rpg beware of the forest mushrooms
Thanks for pointing it out! I usually get that games OST mixed up with any of the N64 Zelda Games.
nice video
Another video about the personalization AI? Interesting
15:22 that's from Super Mario RPG not Zelda
The forest maze song was from Super Mario RPG
Thank you for the Correction!
so whenever the parallel launcher downloads to 98% it gets restarted. is there any other way to play this mod?

the legend of zelda's forest maze? 🤔
15:24 Excuse me, The Legend of Zelda Forest Maze?? U WHAT???
Yeah, I always get the Mario RPG and Zelda Soundtracks confused. Thanks for the correction though!
27 subscribers? seriously?
Very cool
Thank you Chris Redfield. You bring honor wherever you go.
Nobody remembers it probably because it was released in 2021 and not in 1996
Holy shit I didn't know that. I should delete my video
I now it bro
why does yoshi make bob omb noises in the intro 🤨
My guess is to make yoshi talk, they coded in a bob-omb and made it invisible so that you could be "talking" to Yoshi. The same thing happens with a bunch of other NPC's in the game.
It is weird tho
Epic story ☺️😸☺️🌸👍🏻!?

Wrong actually there's an AI on a n64 game. F-zero X had an X cup in which the tracks would be rearranged to create new stages... Sounds familiar??
