❤️BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY❤️ ROMANS 15:4 NIV 4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
"We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!" That deliverance gives me goosebumps every time.
It made $880 million dollars at the box office against a $75 million dollar budget. It won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects. I saw this film with my brother and sister and it blew me away! I enjoyed this movie and forgot how fun it really is!
The existence of Area 51 wasn't confirmed officially until just a few years ago. At the time this movie was made, they had the military all lined up for help with filming, but the DoD wanted them to omit the references to Area 51 (even though just about everyone already believed it to be a real thing by then) and the producers refused, so the military pulled out of the deal.
In 1994 there was a lawsuit by some workers from area 51 over exposure to toxic chemicals, resulting in an executive order exempting the base from environmental disclosure laws in order to stop the lawsuit from being able to go forward, which was the only acknowledgement that something unusual was going on out there until 2013, when he CIA acknowledged area 51's existence in an official history of the development of the U-2 spy plane.
One note. When this movie came out, we just went through a bunch of movies and shows, from ET to V the visitors, where either aliens were good/misunderstood, or they played nice and fooled us, then tried to take over. I remember this movie really surprising us with them just showing up and attacking, no contact, no false negotiations, just boom!
It's muted, but at 39:24 you hear Goldblum ad-lib "Faster. Must go faster." This was a nod to _Jurassic Park_ in which Goldblum says the exact same line.
What often goes unnoticed is all of the homages made to sci-fi of the past. The "Good Morning Dave" from 2001, the nuclear blast aftermath from the original "War of the Worlds" and that last scene of the guys walking out of the desert is right out of the ending of "The Right Stuff". Those little added things took it to an even higher level for me.
Among the deleted scenes are scenes that show Russell Casse being rejected from flying a fighter jet because he's drunk, and when they run out of missiles, he shows up in his crop duster biplane with a missile strapped to it already knowing that he'll have to ram the alien weapon to stop it. Fortunately, the filmmakers realized that it looked laughably silly to have the biplane keeping pace with the F-18s that were "plowing the road" ahead of him. Also the final version had that added emotional impact of seeing Russell make the decision to sacrifice himself as he looks at the photo of his children. You always look beautiful, but you look spectacular in today's dress.
This is one of my favorite films. My family named our first yellow lab Boomer, after the dog in this movie. I'm so glad I just found your channel, I am LOVING your reactions so far!!
This movie has a special place in my heart as it was the first movie I saw in theaters after graduating from the Navy's Basic Training in June of 96. I was 25 years old at the time. Such an amazing movie and I loved the characters.
This movie is a modern update of another movie based on the H G Wells book the War of the Worlds in which martians invade earth and are defeated by a biological virus rather than a computer virus. This movie also references classic movies such as 2001 Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the third kind and ET
Will knew she was there cause at the beginning when he had to go to base case of the ships, Will aka Steve told her to pack some stuff for her and her son and to stay at the base.
Can we all just take a moment and take notice of how stunningly gorgeous she is in that flag dress? Dayum! I was barely able to finish enjoying her movie reaction 😘
Area-51 became well known in the 1990s thanks to shows like Unsolved Mysteries, The X-Files and Seven Days and a late night radio show called Coast to Coast AM that was hosted by the late Art Bell.
One of my favorite films of alltime Top 3 no doubt. I am indeed a believer of alien life out there somewhere in the universe and i do believe they have been visiting our planet for thousands of years now whether they are benevolent or malevolent is anyones guess. But either way if they have the ability to travel to our planet at will and we cant even go past our moon if they were hostile there is absolutely nothing we could do to stop them. We would be completely helpless. That's scary to even think about it.
That "white desert" is the Great Salt Flats in Utah - notice theres NO dust behind the RV caravan? its salt = no dust if you look at the parachute Will Smith drags the alien in, you'll see the salt on it from being dragged too..
Your amazing at movie reactions I have movies I’ve been watching for years that I love & I don’t see them the way you do. I never paid attention to direction & editing until the last 2 years. Keep up the great work.
This was such a big movie back in the day, I remember everyone in school talking about it. The huge lines at the movie theater to go see it. It’s one of my favorites. Fun fact, that beautiful white sand lake is actually pretty stinky because it has hundreds of dead shrimp, so when Will Smith complaints about the smell, that line was not in the script, he really was annoyed about the horrendous smells coming from the place.
Like others have said, this movie destroyed at the box office. It was amazing! Plus, it came out Independence Day weekend back in `96, so it gave you that "this is happening RIGHT NOW" feel. The sequel... was not as good :D. May be a good "bad" movie to react to. Also, BATTLE: LOS ANGELES, which portrays an alien invasion ground war, goes VERY well with this movie, and I think of THAT as an unofficial sequel.
I really love this movie for real. The very first time I saw this movie was at the movie theaters with my Mom, my Dad and my Grandmother when I was only 19 years old.
Julius Levinson is the best character in this movie. Imagine the anti-maskers dealing with being told not to go hang out under the giant alien spacecraft's primary weapon.
"What the Hell is that smell?!" It's actually the way the Bonneville Salt flats smell because of its proximity the the Great Salt Lake (all the dead brine shrimp).
Fact: before appearing as the dad of Jeff Goldblum's character in this movie Judd Hirsch was in the tv series of taxi and I recommend you to check it out.
I watched this movie 3 times at the cinema back in the day. First time I watched it with a friend we were cheering and everything. Huge hit back in the day and still holds up well today.
That was a great reaction, thank you! My most heartfelt thoughts and wishes to all American brothers and sisters were disturbed only by what that lunatic did at the parade - sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in that madness. From a Romanian brother, huge respect and admiration to all American true patriots.
You my dear are a joy to watch react! Feels good to see someone watch this sensational movie for the first time! Really loved all your thoughts on the movie after watching it also, 100% agreed on everything you said!
Welcome to The greatest story I've ever watched in my entire life that was based on aliens invasion type of movie all the characters written to the movie perfectly the guy sacrificing himself to save the world perfectly done I'm glad you enjoyed the movie all the practical effects or models alien ships in buildings no CGi in this movie except for certain parts lasers and stuff like that The president's speech freaking phenomenal greatest speech I ever heard in a movie of all time since this movie I watched it when I was 13 years old randomly on a movie channel the speech should speak volumes to what we need to hear right now in the world
Been watching this movie since '96 😉 have it on DVD and watch it on the regular. LOVED your comment about "the radius of the explosion" 😂 my fave part is when the alien speaks thru the scientist - " peace? no peace" and "diiiiiiiie" ❤
Here's something I've often wondered - did Russell's missile malfunction because he'd already accidentally primed it then cancelled it earlier on? If so, damn...
KJV “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
I love the perspective of youth! You thought the concern about the President's age were because he was too OLD? 🤣 Great reaction as usual. I know that you're being sarcastic some of the time, but it's hard to tell when.
Steve told Jasmine to go to El Toro base. That's why he went there to look for her, and why she went there to look for him. As for age, they thought Tom was too young and inexperienced to be president.
The movie makers used Irwin Allen's disaster movies as a blueprint. Huge cast, excellent scripting, different subplots following the characters... Would you consider watching The Poseidon Adventure or The Towering Inferno? If you watch one, you'll see what I mean by those types of films being the blueprint.
Top notch again!! Excellent reaction, and entertaining, humor, wit, and and profoundly thoughtful, your my absolute favorite, thanks again for a great reaction, your the best!!..😁😁👍👍
Someone needs to hire you as a film critic!. And I can tel you, it was a massive hit, back in 96. So glad you enjoyed it!. As much as I did your reaction/review. :)
Having watched many of your reactions past, I have to call this out as your most animated reaction. It really hit you this one, I can tell. My reaction, immediately after seeing this film in 1996, was to buy another ticket. I wonder, did you watch it again?

I'd probably double that 75 million to include advertising because back then I remember the trailers everywhere on TV.
@@AdamtheGrey02 aye, great point - most big budget movies are typically double its filming cost for the marketing
it only traumatized me for the first 15 years of my life lol
Shame the sequel sucked.
Thanks!

The speech by the President gives me chills every time I hear it. By far the best speech I’ve ever heard in any movie.

36:42 “Nobody’s perfect.” Classic line that ends “Some Like it Hot”.
That audio distortion you add really did a number on Harvey Fierstein's voice. Had me go between being creeped out and laughing so hard 😂
I pledge allegence to Californiablend and her united sexiness of America.
Salute!!!
Easy there lol 😂
28.27 El Toro base..he told her to join him there..he gambled that she'd try.
Jimmy (Will's pilot friend who dies) is singer Harry Connick Jr.
I met his dad, Harry Connick, Sr., a former DA for the city of New Orleans.

This is a great video, but my favorite part is when she says, “Why is my ringer on??” 🤣🤣🤣
My dear you just made me more proud to be a American. I also truly enjoyed your reactions to the movie. I love the different views of characters.
Lol that jump scare when they opened suit. 🤣 👏👏👏😏😏😏

David smoked his cigar for real, Will Smith just would light his without never puffing..
Stay consistent, stay steady, this channel will grow. This is my favorite audit. Great job. “Our little environmentalist” 😂

Wow, the distortion really added a new dimension to this movie!😉 Apart from that, great reaction! Love to you!
"Stop side-seat driving!" Cracks me up every time.

Excellent reaction! It was obvious how much you enjoyed this! Your enjoyment was very contagious!
To be honest, at this point I'm just tuning in to see how you've styled your hair girl........never fails to impress!

She looks so adorable in that American flag dress😊😊😊

You'd think he would want to live closer to base. El Toro is 50 mi from the LA city center.
They didnt think the Prez was too old, they thought he was too young.
The way she’s looking right now in that shirt she got my flag up saluting :-)

Californiablends beauty and personality is amazing. We need more women like her in this lifetime.
Girl, you are silly mimicking that man. LOL. "I told y'all. I told y'all. Didn't I tell y'all."
I remember seeing this in the movie theater. My dad was so excited to take me and my mom thought I was 2 young. I was 10 at the time. It was awesome

different looking aliens... but District 9
Battle Los Angeles is amazing. Definitely one of my favorite movies.
I really love this movie for real. The very first time I saw this movie was at the movie theaters with my Mom, my Dad and my Grandmother when I was only 19 years old.
Same here. 1977 represent.
The scientist with glasses and long hair at Area 51 is actually Data from Ster Trek. I had no idea until someone pointed that out to me. Crazy.
As a kid...I loved this film. And I had a huge crush on ms. Fox! Such a beautiful woman lol.
Julius Levinson is the best character in this movie. Imagine the anti-maskers dealing with being told not to go hang out under the giant alien spacecraft's primary weapon.
You just keep getting prettier every video I watch on your channel. 😍
"What the Hell is that smell?!" It's actually the way the Bonneville Salt flats smell because of its proximity the the Great Salt Lake (all the dead brine shrimp).

The President’s speech is pure perfection. 🇺🇸🥰
@sexymonkey696
The patriotism is part of what makes it so good.
Sorry you feel otherwise.
@sexymonkey696 That was purposefully done tho. The name of the film is Independence Day for goodness sake lol
Here's something I've often wondered - did Russell's missile malfunction because he'd already accidentally primed it then cancelled it earlier on? If so, damn...
Well there's no realistic answer to that because there isn't a way to start a mission's engine while it's still on the rail.
The theatrical version is the best version of this classic film. But anyway, great reaction! 👍🏿
Looks like you're watching the Final Deluxe Directors Cut Version Edition. Excellent choice 👌👍😎
Looking very put together in this reaction

Love your reaction, and I love your dress.
Independence Day was the highest grossing movie of the 1990s ($800+ Million) until it was surpassed by Titanic ($1 Billion+) a year and a half later.
Russell gets the MVP card
Love your reviews -- Happy Independence Day! 🎇🌟🎇🎉
