The name of the channel is Thanovic, not Thanovic Plays Rocket League or else. Some people may have come here for Rocket League, but definitely most of them stayed for you. Honestly, I quit the game too about a month ago. Back when I did play, you were the biggest reason I didn't give up on the ranked grind. Your videos helped me go all the way from the lower end of gold all the way to the top of C3. I truly believe this will be a fantastic thing for you! Reach into new games now and explore all kinds of fun content (definitely do them on this channel, it will really help with your growth going forward) I believe that Rocket league has always held back your true potential, as you are a fantastic creator! Same, I was champ but I could never make that push into gc because I simply couldn’t play enough. Then I just decided to quit and focus on my life and play other games from time to time with my friends. There are times I miss it but personally it was one of the best decisions I had ever made
You have been my favorite RL content creator for a while now and while it will be sad to see you go, I also think that nobody should force themselves to do something that they don't want to do just because they feel obligated to do it. One of the main reasons I love watching your videos and streams is your personality, so I think that if you play different games a lot of people, myself included, will still watch your videos simply because you are so entertaining to watch. The few times I've been able to watch your streams (they are usually 2-6am for me haha) they've always been really fun even when you were playing games other than rocket league. I can't wait to see where you go from here and wish you luck in whatever you decide to do.
I feel you man on all of this, you saved yourself a ton of turmoil if you kept forcing yourself to keep going on RL for years to come. I've reached some ridiculous levels of insanity after 13000+ hours & I had some similar feelings to you years ago & just never stopped. I'm in a better spot now with the game personally but the short moments of enjoyment don't really outweigh the monotony, you're a smart guy for realizing that early & I wish you the best of luck on your job hunt & branching out into different areas of content. 3.5 years ago I saw ur video and decided to start my career as a RL content creator. It's not really popular game in CIS, but I decided to give it a try. I've watched every video of yours and tried to make mine as good as yours. 3.5 years passed and i'm the biggest CIS RL streamer / youtuber. Peaked at 800 concurent viewers on recent major. But the thing is, the game is still the same. Nothing really changed since. And it's really hard to make enjoyable content for so long with no fresh air. That's why im proud of your decision to quit RL. It's like an addiction. For money, for views. Losing progress is hard and i know it. But for the sake of the future, you should move on. It's not an end of a journey for you sir, it's just a begining! Best of luck!

This is completely natural and healthy and is a consequence of game-play loop style games. What happens is, eventually, you hit a point where you feel like either you cant reasonably get better than where you are, or that to do so requires more work than its worth, AND that where you are leaves little left to discover. Id reckon that youre about as good as it gets without going pro. Short of going competitive professionally, there isnt really anything left for you to do. Id say that the fact a game with a 5m game loop and absolutely no narrative could get 6,000hrs of your time and enjoyment before you sort of chewed through it is a testiment to how awesome of a game it truly was.
Yeah it's normal to be able to move on and return to these types of games. I have no idea how professionals and content creators of most games stay interested for multiple years continuously especially when they get no content or bad content updates like FN and RL

bro epic bought rocket league 5 years ago. sure the trading thing was bad but they didn't just kill the game recently, its been slowly dying for a while.

@@flettyy They have done a few good things like Tournaments and free to play to boost play count. But they have been slowly picking off communities like trading and freestyle, so the game can completely die off so the only way people would be able to do anything Rocket league related is through Fortnite.
@@flettyy Yeah because of epics bad decisions nad there lack of. Ranked is a total mess. People arent placed in their right ranks and smurfs running rampant just leads to a pretty bad experience. What makes it so much worse is there isnt anything else to do. Epic have made just such bad changes over the years. Like whyd they remove dropshot to be changed with snowday every other week. It was clear that epic would kill off rocket since it first bought because they announced the end of other OS support.

Honestly saying this allows others to realise that we are holding on to a lost hope. I have hoped that eventually epic would pull their finger out and actually make a positive attempt to make the game better, but sadly that isn't the case. @@tp_electro literally ONE positive thing that they have done since epic took over, and thats the boost thing. They have brought nothing else to the game. The players innovating new mechanics and content creation/RLCS is the only reason the game isnt now dead.
At about 3k a few years ago I took 2 years off. Did wonders for me. I'm now almost at 4k and feeling the burn again. If you haven't got something you're actively training or playing with friends, this game will feel stale very very quickly. Don't feel bad about "giving up", you're not. You've recognised the end of the road and are looking for other fulfilling things, which is smart. Rocket League isn't going to be around forever, and at its current state, it'll be gone in a few years. Branching out now is objectively a good idea, Thano. I miss the OG seasons, pre-Epic, when the game still felt like it had community and life. It's soulless now.
Yea same, when I'm playing ranked it's kinda just repetitive and frustrating but when I go for mechanical shots/freestyles I feel so much more free and have more fun in general

Champ is currently a pit stop on the way to GC for Smurfs and boosted players. If you solo queue you’ll get boosted player who went from diamond 1 to GC in a week. You’ll lose to, you guessed it, a paid Smurf boosting someone. The only way I got back to GC this season was playing with a friend

I don't blame you for quitting, they literally ruined the game ever since epic games got a hand onto it, removed crates, changes keys to credits, item shop, removed trading, like what?..
u forgot, they also took away the "multiple playlist search" after epic got hand on them, which they funnily enough sold (for all the new players) as a "new feature" even tho, its exact the same. they didnt even bothered to change the old playlistpictures ^^ player since 2015
@@hhaste but it affects long term motivation for a large part of the playerbase. Also do you know what does affect gameplay? Lagging servers. Rl never had good ones but they have been absolute garbage for the last month.

What made you a successful content creator isn't the game nor your community but your personality and the way you looks at things. Even though I wasn't a RL content creator I played this game for years, peaked at GC before it became F2P and quit for the same reasons. Sometimes you had enough and it's time to move on. When I used to play this game I really enjoyed your content and your attitude was refreshing which made me come back for more. So, something ends but something else begins ! I'm sure you have all you need in order to transition to something that makes you happier and more fulfilled. Success is not a matter of luck but hard work and patience. It's crazy man I feel like all of us that have been playing this game from the beginning are all burnt out. I don't even make content but feel the same way about RL, I still hop on a play and play a couple games but the days of grinding and enjoying that are over unless something big happens with it. 3.5 years ago I saw ur video and decided to start my career as a RL content creator. It's not really popular game in CIS, but I decided to give it a try.
I've watched every video of yours and tried to make mine as good as yours.
3.5 years passed and i'm the biggest CIS RL streamer / youtuber. Peaked at 800 concurent viewers on recent major.
But the thing is, the game is still the same. Nothing really changed since. And it's really hard to make enjoyable content for so long with no fresh air.
That's why im proud of your decision to quit RL. It's like an addiction. For money, for views. Losing progress is hard and i know it. But for the sake of the future, you should move on.
It's not an end of a journey for you sir, it's just a begining!

This is completely natural and healthy and is a consequence of game-play loop style games.
What happens is, eventually, you hit a point where you feel like either you cant reasonably get better than where you are, or that to do so requires more work than its worth, AND that where you are leaves little left to discover.
Id reckon that youre about as good as it gets without going pro. Short of going competitive professionally, there isnt really anything left for you to do.
Id say that the fact a game with a 5m game loop and absolutely no narrative could get 6,000hrs of your time and enjoyment before you sort of chewed through it is a testiment to how awesome of a game it truly was.
Yeah it's normal to be able to move on and return to these types of games. I have no idea how professionals and content creators of most games stay interested for multiple years continuously especially when they get no content or bad content updates like FN and RL

@@flettyy They have done a few good things like Tournaments and free to play to boost play count. But they have been slowly picking off communities like trading and freestyle, so the game can completely die off so the only way people would be able to do anything Rocket league related is through Fortnite.
@@flettyy Yeah because of epics bad decisions nad there lack of. Ranked is a total mess. People arent placed in their right ranks and smurfs running rampant just leads to a pretty bad experience. What makes it so much worse is there isnt anything else to do. Epic have made just such bad changes over the years. Like whyd they remove dropshot to be changed with snowday every other week. It was clear that epic would kill off rocket since it first bought because they announced the end of other OS support.

At about 3k a few years ago I took 2 years off. Did wonders for me. I'm now almost at 4k and feeling the burn again. If you haven't got something you're actively training or playing with friends, this game will feel stale very very quickly. Don't feel bad about "giving up", you're not. You've recognised the end of the road and are looking for other fulfilling things, which is smart. Rocket League isn't going to be around forever, and at its current state, it'll be gone in a few years. Branching out now is objectively a good idea, Thano.
I miss the OG seasons, pre-Epic, when the game still felt like it had community and life. It's soulless now.

Champ is currently a pit stop on the way to GC for Smurfs and boosted players. If you solo queue you’ll get boosted player who went from diamond 1 to GC in a week. You’ll lose to, you guessed it, a paid Smurf boosting someone. The only way I got back to GC this season was playing with a friend

Even though I wasn't a RL content creator I played this game for years, peaked at GC before it became F2P and quit for the same reasons. Sometimes you had enough and it's time to move on.
When I used to play this game I really enjoyed your content and your attitude was refreshing which made me come back for more.
So, something ends but something else begins ! I'm sure you have all you need in order to transition to something that makes you happier and more fulfilled. It's crazy man I feel like all of us that have been playing this game from the beginning are all burnt out.
