- So after roughly 4 years of doing Rocket League UA-cam full-time, I've decided it's time for me to step away from the game and try something new. I've been playing a bunch of different games recently and would love to start working on uploading those somewhere instead, but at this point, Rocket League just isn't for me. I've been optimistic as they've been putting in quite a few quality of life features, such as the boost meter and time stamps, and it seems like they're actually trying to make a difference now. Might just be too little too late though.

Ok, I have never been an active community member, more of a lurker, but I think you should not go to another channel with content other than Rocket League. The name of the channel is Thanovic, not Thanovic Plays Rocket League or else. Some people may have come here for Rocket League, but definitely most of them stayed for you. Of course, the final decision is yours, but my opinion is - new content here, and not somewhere else on UA-cam. The more you express yourself with your content, the better - thanks much for everything 😁

Same, I was champ but I could never make that push into gc because I simply couldn’t play enough. Then I just decided to quit and focus on my life and play other games from time to time with my friends. There are times I miss it but personally it was one of the best decisions I had ever made

I feel you man on all of this, you saved yourself a ton of turmoil if you kept forcing yourself to keep going on RL for years to come. I've reached some ridiculous levels of insanity after 13000+ hours & I had some similar feelings to you years ago & just never stopped. I'm in a better spot now with the game personally but the short moments of enjoyment don't really outweigh the monotony, you're a smart guy for realizing that early & I wish you the best of luck on your job hunt & branching out into different areas of content. You are so unbelievably nostalgic for me you don't understand. Back when rocket league was at its peak years ago, you were the reason I wanted to stream and do content myself. Whether its rocket league content or whatever I do, you are genuinely the reason I first wanted to stream and do youtube (and play rl). Thanks for that.

3.5 years ago I saw ur video and decided to start my career as a RL content creator. It's not really popular game in CIS, but I decided to give it a try.
I've watched every video of yours and tried to make mine as good as yours.
3.5 years passed and i'm the biggest CIS RL streamer / youtuber. Peaked at 800 concurent viewers on recent major.
But the thing is, the game is still the same. Nothing really changed since. And it's really hard to make enjoyable content for so long with no fresh air.
That's why im proud of your decision to quit RL. It's like an addiction. For money, for views. Losing progress is hard and i know it. But for the sake of the future, you should move on.
It's not an end of a journey for you sir, it's just a begging.

It is because of Epic that so many people are quitting now. They have destroyed a game just so it would become fuel for Fortnite. I think everyone in the rl community all enjoy a "fuck you epic"

bro epic bought rocket league 5 years ago. sure the trading thing was bad but they didn't just kill the game recently, its been slowly dying for a while.

@@fletty6578 They have done a few good things like Tournaments and free to play to boost play count. But they have been slowly picking off communities like trading and freestyle, so the game can completely die off so the only way people would be able to do anything Rocket league related is through Fortnite.
This is completely natural and healthy and is a consequence of game-play loop style games.
What happens is, eventually, you hit a point where you feel like either you cant reasonably get better than where you are, or that to do so requires more work than its worth, AND that where you are leaves little left to discover.
Id reckon that youre about as good as it gets without going pro. Short of going competitive professionally, there isnt really anything left for you to do.
Id say that the fact a game with a 5m game loop and absolutely no narrative could get 6,000hrs of your time and enjoyment before you sort of chewed through it is a testiment to how awesome of a game it truly was.
Yeah it's normal to be able to move on and return to these types of games. I have no idea how professionals and content creators of most games stay interested for multiple years continuously especially when they get no content or bad content updates like FN and CS(before CS2)

You have been my favorite RL content creator for a while now and while it will be sad to see you go, I also think that nobody should force themselves to do something that they don't want to do just because they feel obligated to do it. One of the main reasons I love watching your videos and streams is your personality, so I think that if you play different games a lot of people, myself included, will still watch your videos simply because you are so entertaining to watch. The few times I've been able to watch your streams (they are usually 2-6am for me haha) they've always been really fun even when you were playing games other than rocket league. I can't wait to see where you go from here and wish you luck in whatever you decide to do.
Honestly, I quit the game too about a month ago. Back when I did play, you were the biggest reason I didn't give up on the ranked grind. Your videos helped me go all the way from the lower end of gold all the way to the top of C3. I truly believe this will be a fantastic thing for you! Reach into new games now and explore all kinds of fun content (definitely do them on this channel, it will really help with your growth going forward) I believe that Rocket league has always held back your true potential, as you are a fantastic creator! Your 100 hour series is what made me keep pushing RL back in 2020 and got me to where I am in the game today, but I completely understand everything you've said. The past year or so of Rocket League has been the most stale feeling year since I started the game in August of 2020 and I have never disliked the game more. I'd absolutely love to see you branch out and try content on games that you enjoy because, despite me loving your content, I have kinda stopped watching RL content as my interest in the game died and that includes your videos. I think you should play games you enjoy and don't stress too much over the fact that it isn't RL, it never hurts to try after all
It's been a privilege to have had you as a part of the Rocket League community. I'm still very much enjoying the variety streams, and I'm glad to see you'll be around at least in some capacity, with or without rocket league.
100% do what you want to do, if variety youtube content is what you're feeling, go for it! You did it once, you can do it again. Either on this channel, your secondary or a brand new.

I am actually excited to see what's next for this channel. The Rocket League content which you produced has been great and I believe that if you maintain that quality, you could pretty much play whatever and the cannel will be fine. I would even suggest not sticking to one game at first but trying different things and seeing what works for you and for the channel.

I think the 100 hour challenges of other games would be really cool. Been a huge fan of your channel since you were at like 10,000 subs years back. Genuinely one of my top 3 favorite content creators for years now, and helped me rank up really fast with all of your training videos and whatnot. Loved all your highlight videos too! Wish nothing but the best for you. Hate to see you stop RL content all together, but at the same time, don’t feel like you have to upload when you don’t enjoy it. Much love man!

I have hoped that eventually epic would pull their finger out and actually make a positive attempt to make the game better, but sadly that isn't the case. Yea same, when I'm playing ranked it's kinda just repetitive and frustrating but when I go for mechanical shots/freestyles I feel so much more free and have more fun in general

It's crazy man I feel like all of us that have been playing this game from the beginning are all burnt out. I don't even make content but feel the same way about RL, I still hop on a play and play a couple games but the days of grinding and enjoying that are over unless something big happens with it. Personally I would love to see your content stay on this channel, someone else in the comments said it but a lot of us come for you, not just Rocket League. I’ve personally been watching you since the 100 hours series and have always liked your content. That being said even if you quit rocket league I will still support your channel, it’ll almost be refreshing to see something besides rocket league. Also just post your videos on this channel, and I hope you’ll stream or post a rocket league video once a year or so
I know how you feel man. I haven't actually played a game of Rocket League in about 2 years now (I haven't even opened it since November, and that was just to check how many hours played I had in-game (which only counts actual playtime, whereas Steam counts sitting in the menu as playtime)). Still watch RL content creators on UA-cam, but I just have zero desire the play the game.

Seems like a really good chance to explore more of what you want to do, mate! Stream different games, different content, split your workload between UA-cam and a job outside of it -- totally up to you and what you want.
Yes a good chunk of this community came to your channel to watch you go mad in RL, but I think people stay because they enjoy watching *you* and getting *your* take on things. I don't see any reason why you couldn't branch your channel out into other games or interests. It may lose you some subscribers who were only here for RL, but that's worth it if it gets you closer to enjoying what you do (plus you will also garner new subs over time).
Hang in there, and hope you get to enjoy exploring new paths.
You should do what your passionate about it subbed because I like your vibe and energy not because of the game yes I also play car soccer but, it wasn’t car soccer that made me sub it was you, and whatever route you go game wise I’ll be here supporting the channel. Don’t force yourself to doing things you don’t enjoy.
Do what makes you happy bro, create the content that allows you to have fun. I’m excited to see where you go from here 👊🏻

I am sorry to see you go, but I completely understand your reasons for quitting. Unfortunately if you upload other content, I will not be interested. I will still check in on you from time to time to see what you are creating. I respect your viewpoints and logic as a gamer; I am sure you will do well at whatever you decide. If I like your content I will resubscribe. I am a little sad to see you go, and myself. But I wish you good luck, and hope to stay subscribed to you!
