Those are both proform rockers just different ages. Lots of aftermarket performance heads can come with pedestal mount, afr 165s brodix st5.0s edelbrock performer 5.0 gt40 aluminums
What about the little shims provide in the rocker kit,cheers
Quick question when switching over to roller rockers from OEM can you still use the same push rods or same size push rods
Same push rods. To add, also Same pushrods as well if you’re changing your cam. If you’re using stock rockers or aftermarket I think you have to go to stronger pushrods at stock length if your cam has a lift over 500

I have gt40X heads with a set of 1.6 Scorpion pedestal roller rockers so basically as long as the tip is centered on the valve spring and torque them to 20 foot pounds there good to go? I’ve watched a bunch of videos to where there turning the motor over then doing a half turn and all this other stuff but that’s for stud mount rockers it seemed like.
Yes with studs you have to measure and adjust for valve lash. To possibly add shims. Why they turn the motor among other reasons. Pedestal mount are not supposed to need adjusting for lash. How ever I had one that may of needed a shim. Time will tell. So far my engine purring like I kitten. But I haven’t RPMed much yet
Quick question. Did you move each valve to TDC on the compression stroke? I didn’t notice it in the video when you torqued the exhaust and then the intake valve. Is this needed on pedestal mounts style?

How are the proforms? Trying to find a “budget” set for my turbo 306. A few of my oem ones are starting to feel crunchy
Still waiting to install the engine in my truck. But compared the a cheaper set I’m quite happy with them. I still recommend going Scorpion if u can find them
I know this is old but maybe someone would want to know now. They junk... they will fail and tear your motor all to hell. Ask how I know? I paid for the right to say that. $$$$$$$
So you dont have to follow the timing around each cylinder and tighten each arm up with the valve closed? Or is that only for stud mount style?

To tighten those down the cylinder must be at top dead center!
Thought so to, I checked with an engine builder and they said nope. 🤷🏼♂️ stud mount yes but pedestal mount no. checked with a few other gt40P head guys and they said no need.

So there is no need to turn the motor over for it to be on tdc, like i can just tighten them all down to spec at the same time ?

For anyone reading this far down - Scorpion Racing - Installation Instructions read - that the can is to be on the NON lobe lift area - so Yes - start at TDC and set your first set of rockers, then rotate Clockwise 90 degrees and set the next cylinder in the proper firing order.
Scorpion ALSO wants Lifter/Pushrod/Valve tip at Zero Lash Before starting your torque to 1/4 to 1 turn Lifter Preload.
Whats the header part # ?
Those headers are mustang aftermarket headers. Ford performance. They were not suitable for gt40P heads even though they were advertised as such
You shouldn't be recommending anything, you are obviously not an engine builder. Also why waste money on roller rockers for stock block engine? it wont spin the RPMs to make any difference. It wont make any more power but it will lighten up your bank roll.....
