Is this why the 93 cobras have steel stamped covers? But you got to admit that those cast covers got to be one of the best looking valve covers. The powered by ford cover are sweet too. Also a little tip for grinding aluminum, if you have some soap or even Pam cooking spray. Put it on the tool your using to cut and the aluminum won't bunch up. Use Irish spring bar soap, smells nice. Welding spatter spray works or even just candle wax

FYI 91 and up valve covers have a lot more room to begin with. Outsides look the same but there are 2 part numbers. E6ZE-6583-AA and F1ZE. The F1ZE-6583-CA has no bosses to remove.

👍 I figure a "chore girl" stuffed in there would work. (Like the PCV screen)
You could easily add a long screw crossways to prevent it from falling in.

Im going back to stock covers too. IMO they look the best. Especially once they are painted up nicely.

Great video... when using the carbite bite, spray wd40 on the work surface and it helps with grinding. Repeat every couple of minutes.

I have the factory cast covers and got away with only removing the oil fill baffle. Have ran around 500 miles so far and no oil being sucked up through intake so far. Aluminum GT40 heads with stud mount Crane Gold roller rockers.

Keeping a traditional style long runner intake I love modding stock cast aluminum covers. When I ran lots of carbed combos I'd run the tall covers. Now I have a super vic with short 90deg elbow and 90mm tb with no tb spacer and I have tall covers. Even then the tb is close to the rail and valve covers. I did clock the tb so the cable hooked up on the front side and tps was facing firewall. The iac has a home made block off. I tapped npt before tb an in the elbow and relocated the iac to firewall and ran hose to it. It's was a pita but got a 410w under stock hood.

Took me awhile, I did it with a dremel. I also was able to modify the baffle and put it back in. My trick flow 1.6 rr fit just fine after grinding =D

I did this back in 1997 and I used a carbide burr. Here is a tip from a tool seller that sells carbide burrs (me), if you do not have the burrs for aluminum, you can use the double cut ones for steel but just do not press very hard and they won't gum up. Even the small carbide burrs for a dremel will get the job done in about an hour.

I really prefer a stock look under my hood, but I was going to roller rockers. I ended up with the LMR chrome valve covers. I sanded them down and painted them aluminum to at least LOOK stock, but they are advertised to clear roller rockers and they fit nicely under my Explorer intake. I guess I got lucky, haha.

Working in a machine shop 😁 or knowing someone with a milling machine or Bridgeport makes this a lot easier! Using WD40 with a carbide burr makes the cutting easier, and keeps the burr from clogging up. If you are using a flap wheel to grind aluminum you should where a mask.

Nice!! I been wanting to do this for a while.. According to bigdog porting, removing a 1" spacer would add 300rpm, so if your shifting at 5700rpm you now should be making power till 6000

my stock ones shattered into pieces when my motor fell over in the bed of my truck when i was forced to "get rid of it" by landlord. oil pored out all over my bed. i happen to have like 2 15 pound bags of kitty litter and just filled my bed with it to try and soak it up.

Wish this video was made prior to me cutting my baffle out. I didnt take away near as much. Thank god everything cleared lol. Yo also do you know anyone that has a T5? I guess mine was not ready for all the new bald eagles under the hood after my rebuild. She is whining like a little baby now in 1st through 3rd. 🤦‍♂️ Sounds like I have a supercharger now though. 🤔🤣

What a coincidence, this is the exact issue I'm having right now. Running stock covers and I am only having issues with contact with the baffle. After you grinded everything down are you still running the baffle or did you scrap it all together?

Maybe its a known thing idk... i can not find this explanation about rocker ratio.
I get the math of lift... what im wondering is... just the rockers nothing else... say a 1.6 ratio vs a 1.7 ratio, what dimensions are different in the rockers alone to change the ratio? The rear dimension, the front dimension, both?..

1.7 Cobra rollers (Crain Cams) make even lower covers fit. No grinding necessary. You will have to get the pushrod length correct.

Great video, and well explained. It's really a great content. Sometimes, I am actually curious to know why a lot of people around the world haven't really accepted cryptocurrencies. I would say cryptocurrency has changed the world. Regardless of the fact that i have been a trader/investor, we really need more crypto experts to educate investors on the benefit of cryptocurrency, because the world is sailing into a digital world where you don't need banks to bank your funds and end up with zero interest. BTC's price has been oscillating lately, which means the market is currently open and you can't tell if it's going to be bearish or bullish. This uncertainty scare most investors away and forces investors to hold. I would say it's totally wrong to sit back waiting and maybe take some losses, this is the wrong mindset for an investor because as an investor it should be up to us to find ways to add more and more coins and stock up on the goal of making a profit. It all depends on the pattern you are trading and also the source of your strategies. I started with 2 BTC and amassed over 5.5 BTC in just 4 weeks with the right trading strategy given to me by an experienced trader, dean vella His methods are top notch and profitable and he can be easily contacted through Telegram @deanvella1970 and WhatsApp +33755531299 you can make him your best cryptocurrency expert Right now i look forward amassed all my coin and also trading more assets to change my life and my kids as well, all thanks to dean vella.
