Never sell that Fastback brother. I had a 67 GTA (S Code) and a 68 Fastback and kick myself in the butt daily for selling them. Money doesn't buy happiness a early Fastback does.
Yep, thats right! We had fun. When i watch your videos, it's like hanging with a buddy in his shop just tinkering around. Keep up the good content! Thanks!
I have been lookin for the longest time for this exact piece of info was told u neo and a few others covered it but for someone not familiar couldn't really understand another reason amongst many u are appreciated and treasured brew2l goin the extra mile for the ones tryin to learn
Thank you for posting this. For someone who knows nothing about adjusting valves, this helps out a lot! I am in need of adjusting mine. I can't stand the clicking and clacking. Hopefully, it helps and quiets it down. 👍
Always awesome content, never messed with roller rockers before, she seems to be sounding a whole heck of a lot better. For sure looks more impressive when you take the valve cover off.
I just wished i had the money to put roller rockers and all the goodies on my musang back when i was racing alot and had all the energy … i have all that stuff now plus much much more .. just dont have the energy n want to i used to have … what i have now is the know how and the experience … alot of times id rather watch videos on fixing cars than racing them …thanks for letting us old guys live vicariously thru your channel .. im still in it im hoping my mustang runs 5’s this year and am able to drive it around town … keep up the good work you guys is where i get my drive from now days .
What a coincidence - just installed first rocker on our 91 GT project 302 to determine pushrod length today. Summit to rescue with some 6.5” pushrods and will be assembling those with the AFR heads come Saturday. #progress 😁
did a 351 Windsor stroked it to 406 it runs great I'm a big ford nut my buddy has 66 gt fast back hp 289 271 horse stock solid lifter cam dual point dist. it runs very well also.
🔔😎 Just a quicky FYI for the group. David Vizard recommends PRW Sportsman rockers for a budget build. $ 140. Either 1.6/1.6 guided/1.7. DV says the off the seat ratio is about 1.83. THAT gives a big boost in the low lift flow. These are ball fulcrum and roller tip cast steel. Always check your pushrod geometry on the valve stem. 👍😎
Enjoying your channel, I’m about a 1/3 of the way with my 65 fb. Could you please share any special details on the full rollers. Did you have to change the studs or higher valve cover? Great back story to your fb. I’ll stay tuned!
In the video I was using a stock style 65 starter (automatic) but it sounds like crap. I’ve tried ones from a FOXBODY and still no change. I’m currently looking into that issue
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I used the smaller starter you'd find on a '95 Mustang, never really seemed up to the task, this motor has 10.5:1 compression, maybe I'll go to a mini high torque.
Keep the Grey Ghost in your family forever! Never sell it! It’ll be like a rolling statue that will remind people who you are and what you did here for generations to come long after you’re gone!
Sounds much better. Now put a HO cam in her, with a HO firing order. If you don't have one I have a TFS stage 1 cam, just let me now. You can turn an old 289 or 302 to a HO by just replacing the cam and switching the firing order to HO.
Decent method but I've always just gone thru the firing order on my balancer. Takes a wrench but saves the starter I guess. Plus you set two at once then rotate 90''degrees. (720 degrees / 8 = 90). Just better for me.
Great videos...been watching for awhile now... I have a 65' fastback with a flat tappet 302 efi motor. I've been wanting to install roller rockers on it...I know the valve covers more than likely won't support the rollers because of height issue... If I was to do it properly, wouldn't I need to change pushrods for length difference... Thanks for this vid...simplicity Please let me know...learning Thx
I'm actually installing a howards cam with their roller conversion on my 289, if I install roller rockers do I need to drill and thread fir new post or will they just install and be alright after measuring for push rod length of course?
Man I love the channel but I advise against this mod. You have no way of containing the pushrods (guideplates). The stamp rockers should have little “guides” that hold the pushrod in place.
ALL 260/289s before April 30, 1966 had slotted pushrod holes in the heads to guide the pushrods/rockers. That's the date of the production changeover date to guided tip cast rocker arms. Later heads had big round pushrod holes in them.

It takes a lot of $$$ to buy an early Mustang.
I know a ton of people that wish they had never sold their first car. Especially me. But I've had this one 33 years. Guess I'll keep it.😆😆
.
Man, I love that '65, always cool to see you wrenching on it, can't wait to see what's coming!
Great install and tips for DIY Brother!!💯 It is really cool to see the Gray Ghost slowly transform into a masterpiece once again! 💯👊🏾
Man I thought it sounded smoother on the chop afterward!
I was gonna say the same! Def sounds better.
Back to basics after long builds is a motivation maker!

I’m glad to be able to shed some light on it. Thanks for the kind words!
gotta love the belt squeak!!!!

I have to do my rockers on my mustang and my chevy truck..
TY for a good and simple vid. Put roller rockers on my 83 Capri and was worried about adjusting them.

I learned how to adjust rockers. Thanks. I’ve never done that before.

Definitely sounds better. Love seeing the grey ghost getting some attention!

Also have a '65 Fastback, 408 stroker, what starter are you using, your car fired right up.

Nice! You could probably bump timing up a bit now too!
Great videos brotha keep it up!
I did something simular with my roller 302. Flat tappet cam.
These simple how-to’s are money. A lost art 💪
Love your info & effort but fix the belt & starter noise. If you want to do a video on that.
Awesome!!! Sounds great 👍🏻😎🤟🏻✌🏻🇺🇸
The car sounds good man!!!
That motor seems hella responsive.
Nice upgrade!

E cam is much better due to better LSA, definitely better than 289 HIPO cam, makes a good driver. E cam is about 22 hp/tq better than a stock HO cam.
I’ll be swapping it to roller at some point with an Anderson cam
I have roller rockers on my 289 with guide plates
Nice man car sounds good im kicking around the idea of selling mine if I can't get it drivable soon,
Can you a link to that set of rockers? I’m new to engine building and the different ones are a bit confusing to a novice

I felt like the reduced friction made the idle sound more 'effortless'. I like that.
As always I really enjoy your kung fu.
Had you already replaced the pressed in studs with threaded studs?
Hell Yeah 👍
OOOOH Shit THE FOXBACK!!!!! is back
Great videos...been watching for awhile now...

Awesome video brother🤙 can I put roller rockers on a 84 gt flat tappet motor with a crane cam flat tappet?? Thanks Joe from Laredo Texas 🙏🙏
Nice... but I'd find another paint shop if I were you...👍
So everything is stock? You just add the rockers?
Does it need push tube guide plates?
Nice 😎
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
I mean… carb turbo fastback?
I'm actually installing a howards cam with their roller conversion on my 289, if I install roller rockers do I need to drill and thread fir new post or will they just install and be alright after measuring for push rod length of course?
Nice damn sqeekey belts
Lol!
