I absolutely loved it! I agree that Lilia’s episode was the best. I’m an idiot because I did not realize that Joe Locke’s character was Billy until a few episodes in 😂 I think that the show was also visually beautiful. The Road looked stunning to me and I loved the colors.

You picked a great show to come back to! I loved this show a lot, it might even have dethroned WandaVision as my favorite MCU show. I think I disagree a bit about the budget thing tho. I'm kinda cool with the cheaper budget if it allows them to do interesting things bc there's not as much of a sunk cost, and this show had some really interesting things. I agree I would've liked a nice round 10 episodes so maybe extra budget could've been used on that, but I didn't need a big magical fight between Wiccan, Agatha, and Death. This finale was smarter than that and I appreciate it. Oh and as someone who watched pretty much all of the Arrowverse and a good bit of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals on the CW, I think what makes them feel more "grand" is the fact that they were longer and we had more time with the characters cuz their writing and effects were absolutely not the best either lol. TV shows are simply too short nowadays but that's a whole other conversation 😅

Also, congratulations to the MCU for finally adopting the decades-old half progressive/half regressive Disney's formula of making a villain queer!
    /sarcasm
More seriously, I still look forward to watch these scenes on the show!

I'll admit, that so much time has passed since Wandavision (which is my favorite Marvel's show) and I lost a bit of interest in Agatha's character. I watched the 1st episode and your review will probably help me decide, whether or not, I want to finish the show. If I do, I'll look forward to watch Sasheer Zamata's performance. I loved her time on SNL.

The writing shows all the hints ahead of times you can watch it back a second time and it blows your mind 😂

Episode 7 was hands down the best episode of the show for me. The way they made sense of all of Lilia’s random outbursts throughout the rest of the season was very satisfying.
When it comes to the final two episodes though… I don’t think I can say the writing was nearly as strong. Yes, getting the Ballad’s origen reveal was genuinely shocking to me; it made total sense, but I wasn’t expecting it whatsoever, however the final confrontation with Rio didn’t feel right, the way they wrote Agatha’s change of heart at the very end wasn’t satisfying either. It feels like they didn’t know what to do once the road was completed.

Episode 7 was THE ONE, I wish the other episodes had such effective arcs for the witches. I agree 8 & 9 were a bit wonky in execution, but the overall twists and turns made the show stick the landing which I enjoyed. ☺️

@@JeannesMovieChats I think it was certainly better than Wandavision's finale. 😅

    So many haters.
So much better than the hate. 😂
Also most of Agatha’s relevant comic book time was while she was a ghost/advisor/nanny for the Maximoff’s

Oooh I see! I’m kinda sad we won’t be seeing solid, alive Agatha anymore but hopefully she’ll at least still be present in ghost form, she’s too good to throw away! 😭👌🏾

This is the stark difference between comic geeks and people who only watch the movies and streaming shows. Comics are like Soap Operas with Super Heroes. You have to be into them to get how things work. That's no dig on you, it's just a comic geek thing. Okay, let's remember that these movies and shows, especially Agatha All Along are built and based on comic book logic. That's where we got the saying "If you don't see the body, they are not dead." Comic logic. Let's dispel some big misconceptions. First of all Billy did not "create" the road. Agatha and her son did. They created a song they began to use to both earn money and murder witches. The song became popular and created a folklore. Like these things do they spread and people, especially witches, started believing in it. Agatha, the serial killer that she is, realized she could use that to murder witches. And, and this part is my conjecture, because so many witches were never seen again the rumor probably spread that they got lost on the road. At least until people began to suss out that Agatha is a whole a$$ serial killer. Now, here's what people do not understand about Wanda's, and now Billy's powers. Chaos magic literally alters reality. It can create and uncreate things. These are not illusions, they are real because Wanda, and now Billy, make them real. Literally. (Remember, comic book logic.) So, for example, if they create a gun, that gun is real. It can load in bullets and shoot. If they create a cat, that cat will be a real cat and act like a cat, feeding and kitty litter and all. (Or at least what Wanda or Billy thinks a cat is.) This is why Agatha wanted Wanda's power. Because with it she'd be absolutely unstoppable. My point is, Billy did not create the road, he manifested it using Chaos Magic. The road now exists. Billy only closed the entrance, there's no indication that he uncreated the road. I bet in some future project they will show that road can be opened by the song because Billy manifested it to do that.

Calling The Vampires Diaries sophisticated 😂 episode 7 of Agatha All Along alone has better writing and directing than multiple seasons of that show
This show was filmed in 2023 and only delayed due to the writers strike. That you didn't believe the name change shows how you're lacking in media literacy

    • @JeannesMovieChats

You can’t be serious. All the twists and turns, iconic characters and lore that was spun on TVD and The Originals?!?! That was PEAK television - please let’s not re-write history. And that’s incrorect - the show was delayed several times, including before the writer strike even began. The name changes were clearly not intentional to anyone who was paying attention, one reason being they were oddly timed and spaced out months apart, way off the actual release date of the show….

@ you’re the one revising history, the title marketing was done from the beginning since the show was announced. How can the show be delayed when Wandavision aired in 2021, casting was done in 2022 and filming done in 2023? It’s fine if you hate the show but why make up stuff that you know is false
